My grand-daughter asked for the«rock star party» on her 7th birthday. We were thinking some funky costumes, colored hair, karaōke with microphones, and a small area for the group to give a short performance. Unfortunately we were disappointed as the party ended up being more or less a princess party(gowns, crowns, and sparkles in their hair). They were given fishnet gloves and there were some sunglasses for some of the group but there seemed to be a shortage of props. It was very chaotic as if they had never done a «rock party». There were only 7 girls so the group was quite manageable yet one of the assistants seemed stressed and was short with the girls. Two girls ended up crying because of the actions of the one assistant. The room was small, the karaōke machine didn’t have a microphone or any connections for a phone so had a minimal impact on the«rock party». Costumes were in a closet behind a small table the girls used to put on their make-up so they were basically crawling over each other and chairs trying to get a costume. They got dressed up hoping to sing or dance only to be told to take the costumes off so they could eat. It might have been better to have the cake and open presents first, get the girls ready, then let them sing or dance. The girls were so good with all the confusion and ended up singing and dancing to a song on an IPhone.

Is it the most stylish, well-cut haircut for a two year old that I’ve ever seen? No. But they give you all of the tools you need for a successful visit with a tiny one — animal crackers, TV, books, toys, and a mom seat right across from him. They are fast, can work around a crying toddler(I know from experience!) and get to the point quickly. For the foreseeable future, and while our son continues to hate haircuts, we will be going here! FYI: arrive when they open. They do not take appointments.

Ok, but I won’t return for 5 reasons. When I heard of this place, I was excited to bring my 4 year old daughter in for a hair cut. I looked at the website and reviewed the list of services. I called to find out more. The person who answered the phone could not answer some simple questions I had. Questions like: how much does the pedicure for a child cost? He couldn’t tell me that. But he did tell me that a manicure was $ 6. He also wasn’t sure if I could bring my daughter in for a trim and to have her nails painted that evening. I was told to call back in a few minutes to ask the manager. How odd. Anyone who answers the phone at such an establishment should be able to answer such a simple question. Regardless, I agreed to call back. When I did, the only answer I got was that yes, I could bring my daughter in without an appointment. I figured ok, we would give it a shot. How much could a trim and some nail polish be? We arrived and within 10 minutes my daughter was led to a chair for her trim. There were splotches of goo on the décor around the stations. I assumed it was shampoo or something, but the sloppiness didn’t go unnoticed. The stylist was amiable and the trim went fine. Until I reminded her my daughter wanted a green streak(or pink or purple or whatever color they had) in her hair. I was then told they didn’t offer that. Oh. That info probably shouldn’t be on the website then. And, when I mentioned it on the phone earlier it would’ve been helpful to have been told as well… Despite how frustrating that was, and how disappointed we were, we settled for some green ribbon. Then it was nail polish time. I was expecting that, due to such services being an option, there was an area designated for them. Nope. A foot bath bucket was pulled out and some scented bubbles were mixed with warm water as my daughter sat in a chair. Two bowls of water with suds were provided for her to soak her little hands. But, there was no place for the bowls to go. You see, there wasn’t a table or anyplace for them to go. They brought some piece of cardboard or a slab of plastic or wood or something that they set across her lap. I’m not even kidding. Clearly they were unprepared for this. It was surprising and disappointing. Some nail polish was applied. So, ok. The polish was caked on and lumpy. We went to check out. Someone else was being helped. One of the employees just said, «$ 34.97,» at me. I had one of those split seconds where I thought ‘there’s no way that’s my total. I’m unsure they’re even talking to me, because there was no acknowledgment of me up here, no hello, no asking how everything went… Plus, there is no way in he11 that is the total for what we just did. A bang trim is $ 9.99. The other guy on the phone said the manicure was $ 6. There is no way that excuse for a pedicure was anywhere close to $ 18.’ But that was our total. Alarmed, I scoffed internally and handed over my check card. I figured when I was handed my receipt I would see how much the charges were — itemized. Nope. Just the bulk total. I looked up to ask about, but decided I didn’t want to be that person. I didn’t want to question them in front of other customers or my child. They appeared hurried, and I didn’t want to be a jerk. Instead, I just silently vowed to never return. Here’s why… 1. Couldn’t answer some simple questions when I called. 2. Despite telling someone on the phone that my child wanted a color streak, they didn’t tell me they did not offer that service. That was the main reason for our trip there. 3. Despite offering manicures and pedicures, they were grossly underprepared to provide such services in the manner they should be providing them, especially for the amount they charge for them. At one point they had my daughter standing in a pile of some other kid’s hair. Because did I mention, for her nail services they just brought her to a hair cutting station(that hadn’t been swept). I was charged $ 24 for her nails. A small child can get better service at most nail salons for $ 10. What a joke. 4. The prices are insane. See above. $ 9.99 for a bang trim that literally took 90 seconds. Whatever. I’m more appalled at the nail situation. 5. Overall sloppy business. The website and service menu are lacking. Employees who can’t tell a customer the most basic info. The décor is cute and child-centered, but has chunks of goo splattered on it. So, I suppose for your child’s first hair cut it would be ok if they will likely freak out about the experience and need the distractions. But if you are looking for anything else I would not recommend this place. I was sorry I even tried it.

Terrible customer service on the phone. The employee would not answer my questions and said that in order to let me know if there were openings today I would need to be a VIP member and pay $ 25. Needless to say I won’t be going here with my child. With customer service that poor it will be pretty easy to go somewhere else that knows how to treat customers properly.

The lady did a nice job with my sons haircut but her and the lady at the front counter were not very friendly.

I went to Snip-its ready to cut my daughter hair into a short bob, but the stylist suggested an inverse bob. Why not? Less tangles in back? I’m sold. And by less tangles, I mean despite being super thick, I hardly have to comb it at all. Score! Here’s the thing: we get compliments on her hair CONSTANTLY. And from the most random people all around the city. And it grows out great despite starting with lots of layers and being very short. I’ve found Snip-Its to be very clean and well priced(A hair cut with a 20% tip is about $ 20) The music is annoying. The video they show the kids is basically a commercial for the store. They give crappy plastic«prizes» and lollipops. They push their own expensive shampoos and conditioners. They also don’t take appointments so although I’ve never waited more than 10 – 15 minutes, there is always the chance there could be a long line. None of those things are deal breakers for me, just reasons enough to withhold that fifth star. As long as my kid will let me keep her hair in the reverse bob, I’ll go back to Snip-its.

We have been bringing my son here for years. It is nice because it is set up just for kids. Toys and things to do up front while waiting as well as a small toy after their haircut as a gift. Video screens at every chair with a branded movie or games to give the kids something to do while having their haircut. We never have a complaint or resistance when it is time to go for a haircut.

One failed attempt at cutting my 2 year old’s hair was enough for me, so I headed to Snip Its. They offer a 1st time customer special of $ 9.95(w/coupon), so I figured I would check it out. The décor is pretty amazing! It’s hard to describe, but imagine a fairytale land with cute little«alien like» creatures. Each hair cutting station has a tv so the kids can watch a movie while they get their hair cut. When they are finished, the kids are given a card to stick in this machine that spits out a prize(i.e. playdough or a small toy). If I were a kid, I’d LOVE to get my haircut here!

My little munchkin was overdue for her first haircut. Her little shaggy bangs were hanging in her eyes & she was getting an unattractive rattail. If she would sit still, I’d hack it off myself, but since she’s a squirmy one, I figured I’d leave it to the professionals. Snip-its had a $ 9.95 coupon for first time customers so I figured I’d give it a shot. We went on a Tues. afternoon right after her nap around 2pm. No line. We walked right in & she got a quick trim. The concept is cute, not that my little one«got it,» but one day! The hairstylist was very good with kids, which obviously is a must. They turn on a video once you strap the kid to the chair. There’s graham crackers for them to munch on & bubbles for the parents to blow. What kid doesn’t love bubbles? My baby was entranced the entire time & didn’t seem to know that her hair was getting cut. We’ll definitely be back!
