I wasn’t happy with my food. First of all there is nothing «gourmet» about it.
The hash browns were equivalent to tiny burnt fries.
The slices of American cheese on the omelette, or anywhere else for that matter, are disgusting.
My omelette had both ends trimmed off to square it up zip but why? It made it so small. Oh, that’s the «gourmet» part.
Pancakes were OK, real blueberries.
It’s just lame.

Yay! I don’t know about «Gourmet», but this is a great diner. I came in for breakfast, sat at the counter and was waited on immediately. Ordered the French toast special then watched the cook work the grill. The food was good and the staff friendly and funny. The place was full, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I will try to go back for dinner.

Gourmet Kitchen is the kind of Mom and Pop diner many of us have come to love – good food, friendly service, and moderate prices. It has become part of a weekly ritual for me and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. (The young lady who complained about it being «typical» should be going somewhere in Ft. Lauderdale, where she can get a more unique breakfast for $ 20 a plate.) For those of us who love and appreciate «gourmet» home cooking and good service, this is the place to go if you’re anywhere in the area!

Breakfast here was fantastic. I was driving from Tampa to Jacksonville and stopped for a quick breakfast. The restaurant is only a mile from the interstate so it was super convenient. I ordered the sausage gravy with biscuit, hashbrowns and eggs. It was great and service was super. There is a super long bar facing the flat top which seats about ten. Lovely place. Will make this a regular spot on my road trips to Orlando and Tampa.

Have been eating at the Gourmet Kitchen — Ormond Beach for years now at least twice a week. Best waitresses in the entire county (Linda, Mary, Heather & Alice), they keep you laughing, feeling like family coming through the door. And the food and prices are fantastic, especially breakfast and the beef tips special — yum hum

We come almost every week. Staff is great and the food is fresh. I vary in my omelette choices & I add provolone to everything. My husband always gets the veggie omelette and a biscuit. Like that they have home fries OR hash brown choice and you can add extra onions to them too!

Typical breakfast menu, not much of a variety, and nothing special. It was like going to a chain restaurant. Worst part was asking for cheese on my omelet, and getting slices of «American cheese» on top, which is not real cheese :-/

We usually go for breakfast. They have good corn beef hash and will grill the biscuit if you ask. The prices are very reasonable and this place sets the bar for excellent service time and time again. It should be a requirement by all restaurants in the area that their servers need to eat hear to see how service is supposed to be performed.

This is a great little diner. Very friendly staff. It’s the type of place where the staff likes to watch my son grow up and they don’t mind his little noises and messes. Try the vegetable beef soup!

We eat here often. Good service, consistent food at good prices. Nothing gourmet about it. More of mom and pop or diner fare. Great breakfasts, good burgers and chicken salad.

Not a bad little place. Today my food was just ok, but it is a really busy Sunday. The few other times I have been here, I have really enjoyed my food. The tomatoes I have had have been really wonderful. Very reasonable prices. Don’t expect gourmet, it’s just nice home cooking. For example, today I had the eggs Benedict. It was good (not amazing). The last time I had it the eggs were cooked properly, today over done. The Hollandaise sauce is not great. Nit picking aside, it is a nice place to eat.
