Looking to improve my health, I have decided to take in more fruits and vegetables into my diet through juicing. Juicing, as many health nuts know, can be an expensive venture and it’s important to scope out local vendors for both prices and quality. Being a very convenient stop for me, I decided to check out Top Produce. The inside of the store was small, but the fruits and vegetables looked pretty good, but I wanted to jot down the prices for comparison; however, Andy the clerk, would not permit me to do so. I was confused by this as I had just come from other produce stores in the area, but he insisted that it is not widely practiced. He even said that he believed he spoke to my girlfriend earlier about the same thing earlier, but I don’t even have a girlfriend and I had never been there before in my life. I explained to him my situation in detail and even told him I’m not a vendor or competitor, but to no success. In the end, he told me that there was another produce store next door and that they were cheaper. Unfortunately, cheap doesn’t always mean better and I explained this to him. He said that they would not allow me to write down their prices either. Seeing that there was no budging him, I took his recommendation and left Top Produce to visit their next door neighbor, Fancy Fruits and Produce. I asked their supervisor if I could write down their prices for my convenience and they said yes and that they could see no harm in it. I returned to Top Produce and told Andy I would be writing this review. My average estimated costs for juicing average at about $ 15 a day, and most juicers will agree to this number, if not higher. Because he didn’t allow me to explore the store’s prices, the store has forfeited my business which could have raised revenue an average of $ 5,340 a year, as well as my friends who are depending on my information who are starting to juice as well. I really wish Top Produce would stand up for their products and pricing. I don’t know why they are afraid of sharing their prices, but this lack of customer service and confidence in their products has cost them several customers and a lot of money.

Recently, I was reminded of an old favorite of mine. Top Produce Apopka way back in the day delivered the freshest of fruits and produce to a restaurant I managed. This other location on Goldenrod Rd. has similar fresh fruits and vegetables. However, they also carry the freshest of seafood seasonally. My friend and I loaded up on Blue crabs, mussels, and live fresh fish. It was a seafood feast. Love the fresh availability. Reminds me being on the sea.

4 stars because it is a small store. Cheap and lots of produce. They recently added shelves for condiments, chips, cookies, etc. The owners are korean so u will spot a few asian items in here but they stay busy because of the price and the amount of items you get for $ 5(which is my budget .lol)

We consume a lot of fruits and veggies in our household, and even though I try to do my groceries at Walmart to keep the cost down, their produce can still get a bit pricey and be of mediocre quality. So, one day we discovered this place and have been hooked ever since! Top produce is owned by a Korean family and they sell Fresh produce, freshly prepared and packaged in-house produce(i.e. shredded carrots, minced garlic, sliced pineapple, etc.), as well as vegan, Hispanic, Caribbean, and Korean/Japanese products! They also sell orchids, and fresh fish upon occasion. if you are looking for a deal on your veggies, or just looking for some exotic fruits they have it! Everything from fresh aloe leaves, tamarind, and star fruit to your basics like tomatoes and oranges. Also, their Asian and Hispanic products are well priced, and as far as the Asian products are concerned I think they are cheaper here than at some of the oriental markets I have seen on Colonial. Aside from the veggies we buy sushi /Kim Bap rice here, and locally produced Orange Blossom honey!

This morning, I was running late for work and for a second, I debated what I should get at Dunkin Donuts(the same one I gave a terrible review for) because I felt, what choice do I have, I’m late and I need breakfast! It turns out, there’s always a choice. I made a spontaneous detour to Top Produce, a place I had passed dozens of times before and decided to get some fruit. The size of their produce is ridiculous! Garlic, onions! Huge! I bought 5 oranges for $ 1.00 but since I didn’t have any cash on me I had to purchase a huge 5lb bag of Fiji Apples to meet the minumum debit purchase amount of $ 5.00 I don’t regret it. The oranges and apples are so refreshing and delicious. Thanks for saving me from buying 99 cent hash browns!

This place has some of the freshest most beautiful tomatoes in town. For roughly 1.29 lb, depending on the time of year. To me there’s nothing better that a nice thick sliced tomato with a little salt and pepper, and if you’re into simple pleasures like that than this is definitely the place to get it. They also carry a good selection of fresh herbs, fruits and other lovelies as well as dried fruits and healthy snacks and beans. Their fish is so fresh that it almost makes you feel bad when preparing it. Like it’s staring at you, wondering why you’re stuffing its belly full of lemons and dill. Try not to look them in the eye, for real. Cover their faces with a kitchen towel.(now that’s fresh) They also carry the local honey from the Goldenrod apiaries. YUM. I love shopping at these little places. I feel less like I’m supporting major empires like Wal Mart and more like I’m keeping mom and pop afloat. It’s a good feeling.

Real nice produce stand that has some of the freshest and best looking produce I’ve seen. If you’ve grown tired of buying red onions at a grocery store only to get home and find they have already sprouted inside, causing you to have to throw away nearly half the onion if you include the skin, this is the place to go. They have much fresher produce which not only looks better, but is much less likely to have already sprouted. Besides obvious freshness, the prices are great. Cheaper than what I’ve seen even at a Super Wal-Mart, and as I’ve already said, much fresher. Selection is not as large as Fancy Fruit & Produce which oddly is only a couple doors down, but there is an obvious difference in quality so don’t bother trying the other place. Just go here and get some great produce for a great price.

Top has added a limited, but good selection of fresh seafood. Among the apparently locally caught fish, I saw fresh flounder, and some very nice looking WILDCAUGHT shrimp. If you don’t know why I emphasize the local and wild caught part, they taste much, much better than the farm raised frozen shrimp and fish you find in supermarkets. Just try ‘em, and you’ll know. Sometimes they feature fresh, live blue crabs. They deserve an extra star just for that.
