Everybody I know goes here to shop for beef because it’s so cheap. But WHY is it so cheap? Because as soon as you walk in the smell of old blood or meat hits you. I assume it’s because the packages(which are obviously thrown into the cases without care) drip blood into the refrigerators and as they get old they smell. The meat is not bad. I’ve bought rotten beef at walmart before but not here. The fruit is usually not in the best shape. Some moldy items. I think this place could use some really good management and staff and it would make all the difference. Why is it that in winter park you can find 50 places with great produce but in the poor neighborhoods this is what you are stuck with. Farmers markets are better people! Drive a little further out and buy quality stuff that is just as cheap. Even with foodstamps.

We visited on Sunday 4÷26÷15. If they’ve cleaned the place since it opened, it didn’t show on this visit. I picked through a bin of rotten artichokes, and didn’t find one worth eating. Zucchini was pretty good to bad. Think third world, second tier. On a positive note, the meat looked better on this visit, and the prices were pretty good. There are better places to shop, but if you’re driving by anyway, on a good day, it’s worth a visit. Especially if Spanish is your primary language. .

Parking is horrible as the lot is small and it is always packed. Once inside the store, the isles are very narrow but packed with amazingly fresh produce. They have a lot of exotic fruit, veggies, meats that one cannot find at a Publix or Winn Dixie. The prices are more than reasonable. Checking out is an experience as the lines are super long; however, the cashiers are very quick and somewhat friendly. I’d definitely recommend this place for cheap & fresh produce.

We frequent this market a lot because it carries many Latin products and fresh fruits at a cheap price. It’s generally always packed and they only have 4 cash registers but the girls working checkout are really fast and efficient. They have a food truck outside the store that offers typical Puerto Rican food like Alcapurrias which are fritters stuffed with meat.

Great place to buy fresh produce for the Latin taste. Not always the cleanest. Check out their meat area in the back, you’ll find some great prices on prepackaged meats.

$ 5 purchase to use cc or debit card. This place gets packed since the nearby korean produce market few steps nearby closed down. I come here to get cheap produce only and spanish pantry and basic canned necessities! 4 cans of Iberia tomato sauce for $ 1! 2 bags of tangerines about 8 – 9 pcs for $ 3 total approx almost 20 pcs of fruit! This place is tidy small but they have lots if cashiers to cash you out quick! I come here for my Sofrito, Sazon, Canned Garlic Sauce Octopus, 99 cent evaporated milk to make my homemade flans, Fresh produce veggies & fruits, Seasoning powders and Bay leaves and spanish olives and pimentos! Too bad they dont carry Bustelo Iced Tea here — Its the by far best iced tea! Better than Lipton brand! They carry asian fruits here like Rambutan & Thai young coconut but the price of the coconut is almost $ 3. I can get it for $ 1.99 at other asian markets. They also carry curry powder and carribean items here if you are in the mood to make jerk or curry chicken!

My friend always drags me here with her. Yes, the prices are great, but what a crazy mess. I start to get claustrophobic as soon as I walk in the store because it’s so packed with people. I now wait in the car for her.

All for $ 9.96 I picked up a large pack of carrots, pack of green onions, couple bushels of spinach, medium cord of kale greens, 3 for $ 1 cucumbers, a large bundle of bananas and a jar of green olives. I’m impressed. Packed little parking lot with a maze effect inside with all the shoppers. But it was expected for a mid Sunday afternoon. Possibly better early in the a.m. or in the week. Its open 7days, so the hours are easy to work with. Looking into becoming a regular.

Tremendous variety of fruits and veggies and even meats! Unfortunately I saw plenty of raspberry containers filled with mold laden berries. I visited later in the day so why didn’t any employee remove them from the shelf and sanitize the area? If you go on a weekend it will be uncomfortably packed.

I usually do most of my weekend produce shopping here. It’s a little cramped and you often have to dig through some not so attractive veggies to find that golden apple, but when you do find it, it’s a steal. Great bunches of asparagus(when in season) for 99 cents. For the bundle, not by the pound. What? Yeah, ya heard. They do sell meat, which I believe(I could be wrong) they get from the same distributor as Harville’s Market, which I have been brave enough to try. Remarkably I’ve never gotten sick from it. I also cook to temperature, just to be sure. For the price, you really can’t beat it. The classic salsa music they play in there really adds to the ambiance. LOL I actually enjoy the whole experience more for it. If you’re looking for perfectly ripened, flawless fruits and veggies, this may not be the place for you. But if you don’t mind a diamond in the rough at a really super good price, then I say check it out. It’s so worth a shot.

Just a few doors down from Top Produce, Fancy differentiates itself by offering a lot more variety. While I’m all for options and the more stuff a store offers, the more likely I am to like it, I’ve gotta take off a star due to the lack of quality that I saw during my last visit. Now to be fair I’ll admit I had just been to Top Produce which has some of the best looking fruits and veggies I’ve seen, and sells farmers market quality stuff, so I had high expectations going in. I was disappointed. My suggestion is to visit Top Produce first and once you’ve gotten what you need from there, if you have items on your list that Top doesn’t carry, try this place. Everything that Top does carry will be fresher and better looking there than here. HOWEVER, it could be that the one time I’ve visited(just moved here, will be back soon though), they weren’t at their freshest. Maybe I hit the evening before a delivery or something. So do try the place, but be prepared for the same sort of quality and freshness you find at most grocery stores, rather than farmers markets or Top Produce a couple doors over.
