Next to Ragazzi’s Pizza and across from Edgewater High School. Great burgers and wings! ½ off appetizer specials. Ask for Mary. Always service with a smile. Worth the trip in. Great place to catch a game!

My favorite place to karaōke in orlando. Countless times I’ve belted out Whitney houstons I wanna dance with somebody, complete with drunken ad libs. People that work here are great. There are Tv’s to watch for sports as well.

My favorite go to bar for food,(best burger of all time) fun, and to meet new people from college park. Have only been a few times so far but am sure it will be one of my favs. Super kudos to the entire staff from cook to server to bar tenders. They are courteous, fast, friendly, mixed with just enough quick witted sarcasm to keep me comming back. Special holla to Stephanie and Mary… barmaids extrordinair they never miss a beat and have a true gift of entertaining, razor sharp wit!

I live in College Park so the Local is really convenient for me to go to. Sometimes I don’t want to wade through the people at Ollies or Graffiti Junktion and now that Alfonzos(aka O Town Wings) is closed, the Local is just about as convenient as it gets. This is a great bar to go to during football season. They have multiple TVs and it’s not over crowded like a lot of College Park bars can get. The prices are extremely reasonable. $ 2 all day everyday Yuengling? um, okay! $ 4 Magic Hat? These are not bad prices! Maybe the negative reviews came a long time ago before they lowered prices? I’ve never ordered food here so I can’t say anything on that. The pool table/side bar area just got revamped as well as their«patio». Now instead of sitting outside on a sidewalk there is a little ledge and it feels more like a patio than drinking beer on a curb. The bar top inside was expanded and refinished so it feels cleaner in there. Since the changes, the pool table area is smaller but there are tables in that area now, so if you don’t want to be blasted by karaōke or live music you can sit on the other side and it’s much quieter. I enjoy the Local. its definitely a dive bar and there can always be improvements but it’s obvious they are working on it.

Everything we have had here is awesome. They make their own bread daily so the sandwiches are awesome! The wings really are the best in town. Just moved here from Seminole so we are so happy we found it. Love the bartenders and it’s so clean… try it. You will fall in love. Oh! Much better than graffiti junction!

It should be hard for a dive bar to disappoint, but The Local managed to do so. My husband and I were in the area and had a bit of time to kill so we decided to stop in for a drink. It was about 8 on a Sunday evening, and there were about 6 people in the bar. Two of those people were an extremely drunk couple who were equally amusing and depressing. They were the major entertainment but there were also TV’s at the bar with sports, if you’re into that kind of thing. The bartender was nice. I think her name was Stephanie, or at least that’s what the drunk woman was calling her. There were a few decent beers on tap. I ordered a Fat Tire and my husband ordered the Magic Hat seasonal beer. As tends to be his luck the bartender came back to report that they were out of that one, so he switched to the Magic Hat #9. Beers were good. The place was divey, but not fun. I imagine it has to be better on Friday and Saturday, but for what I was looking for it just wasn’t good.

Lets start with the good. The bartender is really nice. Otherwise this is a dive bar with overpriced beer. Been twice and not going back. The only reason we went back the second time was for the air hockey, which is now gone.

Meh. Dive bar spot for sure. What I couldn’t get over was the prices — wow I think they are über steep for a dive bar. The had woodchuck cider on tap and they has air hockey($ 1 a game) so those were the highlights for me. Started with the mozzarella sticks and there were only 6 so it was a little over $ 1 per stick… Not worth it to me. Also went with the meatball sub. It wasn’t bad but very messy to eat. Could only finish half and appreciated that they didn’t skimp on the mozzarella and the roll was decent. Our server was sweet, I really think it was the prices, since it’s a dive bar, that really threw me for a loop.

Went here with a friend who just moved to the College Park area for some karaōke on a Friday night. It was a nice bar that was not smokey(I don’t think they even allow smoking inside) and the drinks were very cheap and also had a decent selection of beer on tap. They have a small parking lot in front of their bar, which is really convenient. They also have a couple pool tables inside and also a dart board which provides some entertainment. The bar had a nice crowd and wasn’t overly crowded. The karaōke was fun to watch and they have a huge selection of songs to pick from. The one thing I didn’t like was that the high tops had bar stools with no backs on them, so if you plan on sitting for a while it tends to get a bit uncomfortable, unless you can snag one with a back(which all of the ones at the bar have).

so i’d just moved into town and went to hunt down a new spot at which i could get my NHL fix. i was truly blessed that the first place i stopped at had NHL network, and doubly so since the beer was cheap and the bartender was outstanding at his job. you really can’t get Yuengling for $ 2.50 in many places, much less ones with a good channel selection, pool tables, and convenient location. the liquor specials are reasonably priced as well. might as well get a jagerbomb to celebrate accomplishing my mission on the first sortie. there’s also $ 5 pitchers of naraganset from 3−7pm, and magic hat is a mere 3 bucks. brian, one of the bartenders who was working when i went by, is fantastic. i wasn’t necessarily slammin pints down, but i have no idea what my glass would have looked like if it were empty. he had fantastic situational awareness and timing and an extremely respectful but not overbearing or pushy demeanor. going to the local is like going to a friend’s back patio. there’s nothing at all pretentious about the place, but i felt welcome and appreciated. i’m giving it 4 stars on account of the fact that it seemed to me as though the kitchen is having some problems. i ordered the local burger. the burgers are nothing to write home about, your standard frozen pre-pattied 70 – 30 or so, but it is certainly priced accordingly. the local burger’s supposed to come with pesto sauce and roasted red peppers and i noticed mine didn’t have any. again, brian was extremely professional about it, took it back, and it was fixed in no time. no huge deal. taste-wise, it was pretty good, but again nothin to launch fireworks over. higher quality beef might put it in that spot, but it would also undoubtedly raise the price. look, there’s great local chow at gabriel’s across the street. never been to the pizza place next door, but it smells great when you walk past it. go to the local for cheap drinks and pool. towards the end of the game, the place started filling up as it was friday, and i was soon surrounded by orders of chicken wings. they smelled so good that i decided to get some for the road as a late night snack for later on. i ordered 10 jerk chicken wings. unfortunately, when i got home, i discovered that either the kitchen messed up again or their jerk sauce is VERY similar to regular olé franks’s red hot sauce. a little disappointing, but they were still pretty good for hot wings. either way, hugely impressed with the bar staff and glad a place like this is in the neighborhood i just moved to.
