I’ve been raving about the Ruth Chris $ 8 happy hour menu for awhile now. The $ 8 menu is now the $ 9 menu but still definitely worth it. I mean where else can you get a delicious steak sandwich and fries for $ 9. I was drinking the Cab off the happy hour menu for $ 9 a glass and don’t get me wrong I understand restaurants make most of their money off the bar… it was just a little disappointing that the next day i was shopping at the grocery store and saw the wine I had been drinking was $ 4.99 for a bottle. Come on Ruth Chris!!!

Was so looking forward to coming here until the average service. We had an old server and typically for someone with his age you would assume the service would be great but It was not at all. His tone, demeanor and service skills was not impressive for a high end restaurant. There was 4 in our party and we were there to enjoy the food so the price was not a factor at all to us but we were treated as if we were cheap tippers consider we spend about $ 100 per person. Will not be coming back here again…

If I can give more than 5 stars, I will. This place is absolutely the best. I never really like chain restaurants because I’m very picky but this is my exception. Cowboy steak is amazing. Please get calamari– it is the best calamari you can get Plus extra thank you for the waiter name Rusty. He is the world best waiter in my opinion. Service and food are equally important to me at the restaurant and he made our evening dinning experience so spectacular. I cannot thank him enough. I will go back there every time I visit Orlando!

Huge fan of the happy hour here! From 4:30−7pm they have $ 8 food and drinks, I enjoy the drinks, but the food is the best part! Last time I had the Prime Burger and Fries. I thought it was going to be slider sized, but it was a huge regular sized burger! My husband’s Steak Sandwich was also full sized We also ordered the Tenderloin Skewer Salad and the Spicy Lobster, both were excellent. The beef on the Skewer Salad were cooked perfectly! Definitely one of the best, if not the best happy hours in town!

The service was terrible and slow. We received our drinks after the steak and chops were served. The shrimp dish was watery. The manager, Chad, was a dismissive jerk and couldn’t have cared less that we did not have a good experience. Ruth’s Chris is a family favorite, and we wont hold it against the entire chain for this poorly managed location, but do yourself a favor DONOT go to the Orlando area location. With hundreds of other places to eat, go somewhere else. Don’t waste your money at this awful place where they don’t live up to fine dining standards with their subpar service and food.

I went to Ruth’s Chris as the +1 for my date’s company holiday party. The whole group was only 9 people total and I didn’t know anyone else, so conversation was a bit stilted but at least the food was delicious! I started with a blackberry sidecar off the cocktail menu that I enjoyed but could have done without the sugar rim. I was able to sample a few appetizers — the crab cakes, ahi tuna, and stuffed mushrooms. The ahi tuna was well prepared, but I didn’t care for the mustardy sauce that it came with. The crab cakes were amazing. I had already decided on the sea bass for dinner, but almost changed my mind and went with the crab cakes entrée instead. I was happy with my decision to stick with the sea bass because it was some of the best fish I’ve had and cooked perfectly. It came with a strange sweet potato/pineapple«hash» and I didn’t really find that the sweet taste of the sauce went well with the fish, but I still enjoyed the fish itself. For sides I tried the brussel sprouts, asparagus, and lobster mac & cheese. Again, everything was very tasty. I love brussel sprouts and I think I polished off half the dish myself because no one else was eating them. My date and I shared the chocolate duo for dessert which was chocolate mousse and a chocolate lava cake. The mousse was nothing special. It came in a little cup and there was more whipped cream than mousse. The chocolate lava cake on the other hand was excellent — very rich and moist. Service was almost impeccable. I did find it odd that the server waited until we were completely done with appetizers before taking our entrée orders. But I don’t typically visit fancy steakhouses, so maybe that’s how it’s done? As a non-steak eater I’m not sure if I’ll ever get back to Ruth’s Chris so it was nice to go at least once, especially when it wasn’t on my own dime!

Steak houses are a dime a dozen in this part of town that doesn’t mean cheap. But you can find good food and ball out at Ruth’s in the $ 8 happy hour menu. Yes gas is low but meat prices are at all time high so when you see a filet sandwich prepared with steak house quality, at that price is mind-boggling. Skip the swizzle and swirl and you’ll feel like you are sticking to the man. Although the atmosphere is a little stodgy at the bar with the mid life crowd talking about how Donald is the last hope. Ruth’s happy hour is indeed happy all politics aside.

The food was just okay. They have changed the items and not for the better. No, Onion Rings and No Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Also, since when did upscale places like this let people in with jeans and flip flops? I mean this is suppose, to be an upscale place at these outrageous prices. N, Jeans or Flip Flops PEOPLE. Please stop by Walmart and Payless to get some slacks and dress shoes. Women, please wear something more appropriate than a sun dress you wear to the Flea Market and flip flops or sneakers.

First, I called 20 minutes ahead for reservations and told I would be accommodated. We arrived and immediately we were seated. I did not think we were sitting for an exceptionally long time before being asked for drink orders but apparently the manager did and we were given complimentary calamari. Our server, Rusty was phenomenal. He is a trained sommelier and has wonderful suggestions to pair your wine with dinner. Could not have asked for a better dinner with my better half! Cheers

I have to say, for the price I paid for a filet and 3 shrimp, I thought the steak would be tender. I got my steak medium like always from other restaurants, and the steak was well done, dry, and no flavor. $ 47.00 for the meal. I still have to say Cody’s Steak House has the best steak. Now, the service, was great. They always made sure your table was clean of pepper flakes, etc… But, the service is what it should be. Now, do not get me wrong, I did not punish the server when it came to check out. They did not cook the food. The best part of the meal was the salad.

Came here for my girlfriends 24th Birthday. From the time we walked in to when we left, everything was GREAT. Our server Eric was great and checked up on us regularly. We enjoyed the magical dining menu. She had the gumbo was was her first time and she loved it and I had the steakhouse salad(It doesn’t have ANY steak, lol). For our entrée’s, I had the 4oz filet mignon with large shrimp and creamed spinach. She had the 6oz filet mignon with mash potatoes. We also got a side of lobster mac and cheese. The meat was cooked perfectly to our liking, medium and medium well. The mash potatoes was well but to me the creamed spinach was amazing. I’ve always wanted to try the lobster mac and cheese and it was well worth every penny, a must for any foodie out there. The desert were regular nothing spectacular but the food was spot on! I’ll be visiting the New York location soon.

I’ll keep this one simple and to the point; Best steak I’ve ever had. It came out hot, juicy, tender and spiced just right. I’m willing to bet they use a double broiler to cook their steaks(both sides at the same time). Mashed potatoes are pretty darn good too. Great service by our wonderful waitress Michelle! The only thing negative would be the manager and the valet guy. They might be related because they both avoided us like the plague. We were 2 feet from both of them and they did not acknowledge us. It would have been nice(and proper) to get a greeting. Seems like their smartphones are more important than their paying customers.

My friend made reservation and she was told: «Not more than Party of 10 for Magical Dining»… First, I don’t know why she mentioned that we all were having Magical Dining menus because I didn’t even have to see Ruth’s Chris everyday Menu placed on the table. How much does it cost to place two menus on the table and do an upsale? Second, I saw a party of 10 Magical Diners table next to me. So, in fact it was«allowed». Third, the server was in a rush. Overall, the Filet Mignon was excellent! But I expected more on their service. «My dining experience was not remarkable». That being said, I will suggest to all Restaurants encourage their servers and staff to take this month as an oppotunity to make a good impression to anyone that can afford and enjoys fine dinig to come back, which that is the real purpose of Magical Dining month. Few days ago, I visited one of the competitors across the street and they made a difference between Excellence and Typical service. On the other hand, I saw a bunch of people visiting the restaurant that were inappropriately dressed. I encourage visitors to be informed about dressing codes for Fine Dining or at least to try not wearing a «Tshirt».

Mission accomplished! I can finally say I’ve been to Ruth’s Chris! I’ve been eyeing this establishment for maybe 8 years. Thanks to Unilocal and specifically my shiny Elite badge I was afforded the opportunity to hang out with my favorite Eliter’s and enjoy some savory bites at this awesome location. This location is gorgeous, the exterior is well maintained and the interior is so romantic. The dimly lit rooms threw me a little bit coming in from the bright outdoors but I adjusted pretty quickly. The temperature is just right and its a very relaxing atmosphere. As usual our Elite events are filled with tasty bites, savory drinks, education and a contest or two. The staff at RC’s gave us a brief history on the company and how far its come. I was happy to learn Ms. Ruth was a bit of a feminist and total bad girl. The company is rich in history and tradition keeping several of their signature dishes the same as when they first started. Tonight’s bites featured RC’s artisanal cheese & fruit display, Mediterranean roasted veggies, rosemary shrimp skewers, beef empanadas, tenderloin skewers, chipotle chicken tostadas, and tomato & mozzarella skewers. If that stuff wasn’t amazing enough they provided mini cheesecake and chocolate sin cake. OMG, I also had the Berry Mule w/Finlandia Vodka and Whiskey Sour(ah-ma-zing)!! I don’t even think I could pick a favorite dish of the night because everything exceeded my expectations especially with this being my first time. Annnnnnnd then if that wasn’t the best night ever I was blessed enough to win the hashtag contest and I received a $ 50 gift card to come back to Ruth’s and really try out the menu. Steak here I come! I’m so excited I can’t even deal. THEN, to top it off Eliter’s received the Unilocal adorned emergency phone chargers!!! Ahhhh, I’ve been dying to get my hands on one. My phone is always dying at our events so I’m super stoked about tonight. This was awesome! Thanks Ruth’s, thanks Unilocal, and thanks Andi!

Review of the Happy Hour fare ** Hate to review this experience less than stellar cause I know their fine dining is up to it. So in the keeping it real tradition… My $ 8 steak sandwich was actually really dry. The toasted bun was done nicely but the only moisture came from the steak and a rather meager squirt of Bearnaise sauce on the steak. The steak was delicious, as was the sauce, but too dry to enjoy to the fullest. Comes with a thinly sliced purple onion, bit-o-lettuce and a tomato slice. Fries were borderline warm. Would have been much better if served fresher /hotter. Ruth’s Manhattan’s for $ 8 is a fair deal. Service was great. Two people, three drinks two steak sandwiches with +20% tip = $ 50. Better happy hour specials experience just up the road.

I have the opportunity to visit Ruth Chris Steak house once a year for my husbands holiday party with work. I look forward to this every year as this place is so delicious! They do have all their ala carte items but they also have a special«combo» menu as well. This menu has several selections for one price. You receive a salad of choice, your meat selection, side and a dessert. I always order the stuffed chicken breast. I am not too much of a steak eater, so this is a great alternative if you also are not a steak eater. The plates come out super hot and you are advised not to touch them when they are put down. The side item that I usually order are the sauteed mushrooms. These are something I usually wouldn’t order but from here mixed with the stuffed chicken is delicious. The dessert that comes with this special menu changes. The first year it was a flour less chocolate cake(OMG Delicious!!!) This year it was a chocolate bark cheesecake. It was great tasting, but I am not too much of a cheesecake lover, but it was tasty. This restaurant is very pricey, but you do get what you pay for. It is perfect for a romantic setting as well.

My husband and I were lucky enough to get complimentary seats at this month’s Veuve Clicquot Champagne Dinner and we were blown away. This was a five course meal with other locals, part of a monthly wine dinner they do all over the country. First impressions: Almost the entire lot is reserved for valet which is a huge turnoff. I really prefer to park myself, but with 3 – 4 restaurants in the same strip mall, all offering valet, that can be difficult. I guess most people going to these restaurants appreciate a complimentary valet but I’m used to valet spots being further away than all the spots right in front of your restaurant. This location is currently doing renovations, so you’re greeted by a sad bar area where people were still dining despite the lack of walls and flooring – not sure I’d want to spend that much money to sit there(it got pretty noisy in there). The back room where we ate had recently been redone but it was nothing special – kinda like a hotel ballroom style – no real ambiance or personality. And it was so dark!(otherwise I’d be sharing more photos). The service was great and everything was served well – a challenge for a dinner involving 50 people. First was a cocktail reception with salmon tartare on cucumber paired with a Grand Marnier smash. The salmon and cucumber were equally fresh and not overly fishy. What a great way to start the dinner. We found our seats and introduced ourselves to the table. I was looking forward to meeting some interesting Orlandoans, but, this being the Sand Lake location… well let’s just say that didn’t really happen. But our hostess for the evening started off with some interesting history of Ruth’s Chris and Veuve Clicquot, running parallels between Ruth and Madame Clicquot’s business lives. Next up was chilled jumbo shrimp over crisp sweet apples, green beans, and a dijon vinaigrette. The shrimp was delicious! Very interesting combination with the apple and green beans, but the beans were pretty bland. There was a lot more food coming so I enjoyed the shrimp but stopped there to save room. This course was paired with the Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, which ended up being my favorite of the champagne we tried. Crisp and balanced, our hostess described it as a complex combination of blackberry, biscuit, and honey. The third course was easily my favorite: Lobster Bisque en Croute paired with Veuve Clicquot Rosé. The Bisque is just amazing, and I understand they have this on their normal menu, but without the pastry on top – although they really should consider serving this regularly! The Rose was a little sweet after the brut. The entrée was medium rare Filet Mignon topped with black truffle & foie gras butter, served sizzling — Ah-mazing! This is one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. My knife cut through effortlessly like it was just warm butter. They served family style sides: garlic mashed potatoes and pan roasted cremini mushrooms. The mushrooms were pretty standard but the mashed potatoes were extra creamy. I don’t even like mashed potatoes that much but these were delicious. The entrée was served with a Veuve Clicquot Vintage 2004, very similar to the yellow label. We ended with a pear and almond tart topped with Chamomile tea whipped cream – the perfect mix of sweet and tart. The Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec was very sweet so luckily the dessert balanced it out. This is a great event to head to once or twice a year. It seemed like a lot of people there are regulars who go to every wine dinner, but at $ 125 a person I was happy to get in for free!

Went there a few times in the last few months, and despite checking in I forgot to write a review… It was fabulous, both times. Attentive staff and well prepared steaks, as well as knowledgeable wine steward made the experiences memorable. A lot of flexibility in the service and I must say, the positive can-do attitude goes a long way, particularly after a long day. My steak of choice as always is the NY strip, and it is always perfectly cooked. I have tried asking for it without the traditional butter etc. but have revered to letting the chef prepare it the way she likes and knows… excellent!

Ruth Chris has always been a restaurant I have wanted to try. I am very glad I actually followed through. The steak is absolutely amazing — better than their competitors like Capital Grille and Flemings. Service, like many upscale restaurants, is impeccable. I am definitely going to try to head back when I have a chance.
