Expected so much more from the reviews. I found nothing to be excited about. Their sauces did not taste like it was made in house, more like canned clams(for mine) and canned tomato sauce(my daughter’s). The pasta was watery. The bread was strange but possibly made in house which would be kudo-worthy if it was good, but they were small, slightly dry slices of bread. The waiter, an older gentleman, was not rude but was somewhat hard of hearing and impatient. I can’t say it was all bad but can’t praise them either. I had a hard time even remembering what I ate even though it was just a couple of weeks ago(linguine and clams). May give it a second try but only if in that area.

I have tried multiple things on the menu and I’ve never been disappointed. This is the first authentic Italian restaurant I’ve found since moving from the northeast.

This is a great little spot in East Orlando for authentic Italian food and exceptional service. My husband and I were invited to a birthday dinner and impressed with our experience. We were with a party of 20 and from beginning to end, our servers took good care of us even with having a packed restaurant(it was a Sat night). The garlic knots«appetizer» is waaay more than enough for 2 so be forewarned. Obviously, portion size is no concern here as well. You will have enough food to bring home leftovers. At least in my case. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan. Instead of being on top of the pasta, I liked that the eggplant was on its own with the penne pasta and sauce as a side to it. The food was delicious and definitely tasted homemade. What I loved even more, was that I had more than enough for a second meal the next day! The host of the party brought a cake for the birthday girl and one of the servers was nice enough to offer to slice the cake and serve. That’s pretty exceptional if you ask me. They certainly didn’t have to do that considering how busy they were. I would highly recommend this place for a large group or even for a nice quiet dinner with your significant other. It’s not fancy Park Ave but the food more than makes up for it!

Every time I’ve come the food is always good. I’ve gone in both large and small groups and they accommodate both. The staff is friendly and the restaurant homey. I’ve gotten the chicken Gorgonzola the last two times and would recommend it. The fettuccine Alfredo is also tasty.

We ventured out, just a bit, for our 3rd visit the calamari was lightly battered & crispy, the sauce on the pizza tasted fresh, plenty of hot gooey cheese and the crust was crispy. The knotsos are consistently good, & gooey & garlicky. Louie & Marias is a really good go to. The staff pays attention to EVERYTHING!

Had a business lunch here today and will definitely return. Home made sauces, desserts, soups, breads. All very fresh and tasty. Excellent service. I had the blackened Mahi over a bed of spinach, tomatoes, and slices of freshly shaved mozzarella. Oh my… My work mates had other pasta dishes that looked and smelled appealing, they all agreed this was a place they’d return to as well. The signage for the place is just a bit off the road; a person could easily drive by a few times and never know it’s here. The restaurant is a free standing building just past(east of) Maryland Fried Chicken with it’s large red sign dominating the landscape…

Great home style Italian cooking. Their sauce is the best in Orlando and always have a great staff. There isn’t a bad thing on the menu. If your in the area check this place out.

I went here for a cousins night out with my girl cousins(yes, I’m one too!) My cousin eats there often and recommended this place. She did not disappoint me. The appetizers were good(especially the knotsos — bread knots covered in garlic oil and cheese). My cousin ordered calamari which she really liked(I’m not a big fan of that, but it was good) The entrees were great. I would love to go back with the family and share the great experience I had,

We just had lunch here today. I thought it was pretty good. I had the Chicken Francese. The portion was large and tasty. My wife had an eggplant sub with fries, some of the **BESTFRIES** I’ve ever tasted! My Italian father-in-law had spaghetti and meatballs, which he declared good. His wife had the Blanca Pizza, which she enjoyed. Service was fine, prices were fair. I didn’t realize they have a drive-thru window for call-ahead orders. That’s nice for us arthritis whiners. We’ll definitely try it again!

We had not been to Louie and Maria’s in many years and decided to give it another try. First, we ordered Knotso’s — their version of garlic knots. It was a very large portion, but somewhat bland. Couldn’t really taste or see any garlic on the knots. I had the Eggplant Parmesan. The red sauce was very salty. I paid the upcharge for the Caesar salad. It was very good. I asked for meat sauce on my side of ziti and was not told there would be an upcharge, but on my bill I was charged $ 2.95 for the meat sauce! It was more of a bolognese as it was the red sauce with chunks of ground beef in it. My friend had the Mahi Francese which she liked but she said the sauce wasn’t very flavorful. Our waiter was very overwhelmed and sweaty and a bit smelly. Overall, not a great meal. I won’t go back. My share for my meal with a glass of house wine was nearly $ 30! Too expensive for a so-so meal. For good Italian in Orlando, Goodfella’s or Il Pescatore are better bets.

The pizza WAS great that is until they changed their recipe since then it’s been gross but we decided to have it one or two more times before we went to juniors pizza and it was awful the two times we had it. Although the other foods alright we order from juniors pizza now.

I haven’t been here in a few years and sadly I was disappointed. House salad was small and had little crispy bits of white iceberg. My backed ziti was plentiful but ordinary. The bread didn’t accompany the meal until I had to ask three times half way through entrée. Once I received it I wished I hadn’t– tasteless Sysco par baked bread. I don’t think I will be back.

The food was great. I absolutely love their garlic knots! I never knew garlic knots would taste so good with banana peppers. Amazing combination! The only thing I didn’t like is that they charged to share a plate without mentioning the additional cost. I wasn’t hungry enough to get an entrée and just wanted a bite. It would’ve been nice if the server had mentioned the additional cost. Otherwise the food was great and I would come back and refer this place to friends.

I had the chicken Alfredo gnocchi, it was fantastic, just like my grandmother used to make. The bread and dipping oil was a nice touch for a starter. I also had a Maria’s Italian martini, it was fantastic! I will definitely come back!

I went to Louie and Maria’s for the first time a few weeks ago with some friends, and its cozy charm has me excited to go back again on my birthday., Not to mention the food was divine. I ordered the Mahi Piccata and my 3 girlfriends all had pasta dishes. Huge portions, piping hot food, and amazing homemade desserts by Maria herself. You are missing out on authentic Italian food if you haven’t been yet

My fiancé went to Louie and Maria’s last night for dinner and didn’t really know what to expect. We first got sat and it took a little while for us to get served because they were still pretty busy at 9PM. We moved to the bar and the service ended up being great. I even got to watch the Heat knock Philly out of the playoff hunt(way to go!). We ordered the knotsos based on the recommendations and had no idea the plate was going to be as huge as it was. We both ordered food and ate only half of them to make sure we could actually eat some of our dinner. They were fantastic, the banana peppers were a nice touch(i don’t even really care for banana peppers). For dinner I got the meatballs… I couldn’t remember the last time I had meatballs so I figured what the hey, life is about risks! She said it came with two meatballs and I was a little skeptical until I saw the size of their portions and then I knew I was in for a lot of food. My fiancé got the baked siciliano but with the pink cream sauce instead. The meatballs were pretty good, but her dish was awesome. I think I ended up eating hers more than mine… she has a small stomach anyway, gimme dat food. We got to hang out with Maria some, and she is an absolute delight. She was telling us about when the came over from Italy and their living experience in New York when they were young. Extremely personable and a warm person to have being the spokesman for your establishment. Thank you guys for a great evening.

Either these 5 star reviewers are on crack, or I just had back luck. I came with a group of 25 people for a birthday and ordered the eggplant parmigiana. I wish I could say it tasted like unflavored rubber but that would make it a compliment. It came with ziti and marinara sauce which is NOT authentic Italian material, people!!. It is anyone-who-can-follow 3-step-directions-while cooking material. The worse part was that they made me pay for it after I asked them to take it back because it was not what I expected(it’s true I expected actual food). You would think that with 25 customers they would be able to cover for one plate of food… I hope the manager reads this and applies for one of those restaurant makeover shows because they could really use it.

Went here with a party of six, everyone liked their meal. chicken parm, spaghettii and meatballs, lasagna, baked ziti, ravioli, manicotti. most people saying its the best italian food they have had. So goes to say something. Since all six were happy I give them 5 stars. Its rare that we have everyone in agreement. Not many reviews for this place but give them a try and go there hungry. They have decent serving size and good prIces. They have a guy in the front that plays the organ. It was kinda funny I thought it was pre-taped music till one of my party said it was live. We used to go to their familys restaurant in Bitlo. This place has been at this location for many years and we never stopped by. It’s not exactly close to us, but will go again. They are next door to Maryland chicken. The only thing I would do if I were them, I would close off the area in the back where they store tables and stuff. It would make for a better dinning experience. a curtain would help there. For the most part large portions from $ 10 – 15, so not bad for a party of four. I had the combo, I told a friend and he said they make a kick butt Sicilian pizza. Not sure we will ever try their pizza since we like their pasta and chicken so much. Give them a try they could use the business, as the location isn’t all that great.
