The smell walking in was amazing. I got fried rice, something that I believed was spanish rice, ropa vieja, maduros, a yuca vegetable mix and regular boiled yuca. I loved the Spanish rice but wasnt as big of a fan of the fried rice, it was good just didnt go with the ropa. The maduros were grwat and the yuca veggie side was amazing. The boiled yuca didnt have much flavor, im ussd to having it with the garlic sauce. The ropa was very good. Overall I look forward to trying some more out from here!

This is our go to place when we don’t feel like cooking and want something tasty and at a good price. 7.00 to fill a to go container with some awesome food is a great deal. We have tried many different things and liked them all. I will get 3 meals out of my box, but I don’t eat much. I recommend this place highly!

Lots of food for a low price. Came to Lechonera with a friend because she had been raving to me about it. This location is interesting as its a former gas station turned Latin cafeteria. Kinda quirky but I can dig it. We arrived about 30 minutes before close time which apparently wasn’t the best choice. Most of the food was gone/condensed and it was very chaotic. Customers were crowding around the counter and staff were not creating any order to the food selection process. The whole situation made me anxious. I ordered the Pernil, Arroz con Gandules and Plantains. The portion was tremendous. Enough food to feed a couple people. Overall, it was ok. Not the most flavorful experience for me and everything was very oily/greasy. However, my friend and her boyfriend love it tho. I live pretty far from the location so a return trip is not highly likely. Definitely not at the top of my list but certainly a great deal for the amount of food.

This place is amazing! So many choices, 3 to 5 different rices, 6 to 10 different meats, sandwiches, salads, potato salad, macaroni salad, shrimp ceviche, and octopus salad. Everything I have ever gotten here has been amazing. Walk up to the counter and pick what you want. They load up your plate with a rice, 1 or 2 meats, and plantains or salad and all for under $ 9 and you get 2 to 3 meals out of each plate. May not look like much from the outside because its an old gas station but the choices are endless and food is great. There are tables to sit at and they are bi-lingual so don’t worry if you don’t speak Spanish. Definitely try the Pork or pernil and the potato salad! Don’t pass this place up!

Had lunch here the other day and the food was excellent, I’ve lived in Orlando for 11 years and this has to be the best Spanish restaurant I’ve eaten at since I left New York. I had my favorite dish oxtail and white rice with mangu and I couldn’t even finish it cause they give you so much I needed a nap, but I think I’m gonna make this place a weekly visit.

Welcoming employees, and simple set up to order your food. I won’t go on and on how you should come here. You just have to. Today was my first time here and I know for a fact I’ll be returning shortly. Ask away they can help.

I cannot say enough about this place. Cafeteria style fast service food with insane portion sizes. 7 dollars is all you need to choose from several different choices of rice, meats and veggies, and sides. Tip for beginners: get the Spanish sausage rice, tell them to put the red beans and sauce on it, pick your meat, and go for the boiled Yuca for your side, enjoy!

4 Stars because it is located in fuckville Orlando. Aka, No good food unless you want to spend 25 – 30 at a restaurant. However, thank you Lechonera for being the only place there for me when I need to grab a bite to eat in Central Florida. The portions are HUGE! Only about 7 bucks for 2 complete meals if you eat like a regular person and not like a ogre. I take all my friends here, and can’t say enough good things about this gem. Puerto Rican dankness at it’s best!

This is a tough one for me. The food was very good, the portions large, and the prices reasonable. Had this review been based solely on those factors my rating would have been higher. However, «Lizzy Liz,» as the receipt stated her name was, was INCREDIBLY rude to me. There is a huge assortment of food, but no menus, signs or pricing. I asked her what the options were and she explained it was one type of rice, one meat and one side for $ 8. I chose my first item, then she asked my friend what he wanted. As soon as she realized he was fluent in Spanish she refused to say another word to me! Even when he tried to direct her attention back to me to help me she still refused. Thank goodness he was able to order the rest of my lunch for me. Even when we went to check out he asked her to ring my order up first, and she refused. She rang his up, then reluctantly and rudely got back to me. I’ve never felt as discriminated against as I did today. It was honestly very upsetting to me, and put a damper on our lunch. Reading through other reviews I see I’m not the only one who has received the wrath of the employees here. I speak very little Spanish, and would not be comfortable going back here without a friend who is fluent. It was obviously a huge issue to Liz that I was not able to order in Spanish. I hope someone at the restaurant sees this review and remedies this situation.

Absolutely the worst service and worst attitude I have seen from any place I have been! I almost never write bad reviews. I just keep them to myself and try and share places I think people will enjoy and give them a pat on the back for having a great spot! The lady that served me and my family at this place acted like we broke into her house and forced her to make us breakfast! I tried to speak to the«manager» who wouldn’t talk and gave me a dirty look from behind the counter! I honestly can’t even wrap my head around bad the service! I will NEVER come here again!

Lechonera Latina is on the southwest corner of Dean Rd and East Colonial. Venue used to be a gas station, which the business quickly took over once it was gone and expanded their rapid growing business. This is a no frills, Latin cafeteria/fonda experience at its finest. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, and the food selection is quite diverse! Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered at this business, but for this occasion I came with Mami for lunch to go. My order was the mofongo and octopus ceviche. Both were on point and a HEARTY portion. I think two could eat from my order if they’re not the big eater types! Outside there is a Piragua(snow cone) stand, and I ordered mine with passion fruit syrup which was delish for this hot day! The Piragua guy added a swirl of condensed milk on top. I’ve never had them like that but boy was I glad I did!!! :) Yes. I’ll be back. No doubt!!!

Food was fantastic! The orange rice is so flavorful it can be eaten by itself. You get a huge container of food for only 7.00. They have a variety of meat and rice selections to choose from and the flan is creamy and delicious! Definitely will be going back! Good value for your money!

Lechonera is one of Orlando’s best kept secrets. They offer a ton of different rice combinations, meats and vegetables. Their fried rice is incredible! Lechonera also offers sandwiches and trays of food for catering. From the outside it looks small but there is ample space for seating and outdoor covered seating is also available. Added bonus: it was converted from a gas station so most of the parking is covered which means your car won’t be super hot when you leave(wonderful for these hot and sunny Florida days).

This place is the perfect combination of authentic Latin/Spanish food and Inexpensive. So you will definitely get the most bang for your buck. I decided to come here after Church on a Sunday afternoon and the place was jam packed. So get prepared to stand in a buffet style line, which goes by pretty quickly. I am half Puerto Rican, so my go to order at this lovely establishment was the Arroz con Gandules, which is a delicious seasoned rice with pigeon peas. I also ordered Bistec, which is Pepper Steak. You can get a whole platter of food with sides for a whopping seven dollars. Plus they give you so much food, you will definitely have leftovers for lunch the next day. Yes this is a Spanish establishment but don’t be afraid to ask in English for what you are ordering. There is a great selection of meats to choose from delicious pork, steak, and chicken and a variety of rices! You will not be disappointed with the variety, flavor, and the price!

For a non Spanish girl, I wish things were labeled or there was a small description somewhere for what all the meats are. All the stews kinda look the same, and it’s hard to know what is what. But everything looks amazing and I want to try everything! Compared to other cafeteria styled Latin restaurants, there is a wider selection than some. There are six types of rice and two types of beans, don’t quote me on the beans. There are 4 types of empanadas. They are huge and only cost $ 1.50! So far I’ve tried the pernil(roasted pork), oxtail, and beef stew. The first time I tried the pernil, it was a bit dry but the second time having it, it was really juicy. I highly recommend the oxtail! It was tender and the flavor was great and the pieces were big as well. The octopus salad and shrimp salad were okay. It had too much onion and not enough acidity for me and needed some salt and pepper but if you can spice it up yourself, it is a really good deal! Since I think for a pint container is $ 3. There are two types of wings, I tried the saucey one. It was like their version of barbecue wings. It’s .50 a wing. The two times I’ve gone they didn’t have the fried pork belly so I’m sad! Hopefully next time though! It’s definitely worth your money and I’ll be back !

FLANCOCHO! Now here is something I have never seen or tried for dessert. Flan/Custard on top and Bizcocho/Cake on the bottom. It looks like a Bundt cake and the added layer of flan just completes a heavenly dessert. I have always enjoyed the pernil/pork and chicharrones/fried pork rinds. The pork rinds may not be the healthiest dish considering it’s deep fried fat, skin and meat, but it’s worth it. They are constantly making fresh food and they have a wide selection of Puerto RIcan specialties. Prices are very good for the amount of food that’s served. The location is conveniently located on E. Colonial and Dean Road and the actual restaurant is a former gas station which will be easy to find. They have ample parking and a spacious interior.

What does it mean to be an «authentic» ethnic restaurant? Foodies often throw this term around whenever they find an eatery that has great cuisine, but may be lacking in other areas. Well I’ll be honest and say this: as an Asian-American raised in LA and south FL, Lechonera Latina is one of the most«authentic» Latin joints I’ve ever visited. The food: excellent, and lots of it The price: more than reasonable The customer service: nary a lick of English spoken Look, if you want legit Latin food at a ridiculous value, stop in by. I really dunno what else I can say to convey my enthusaism :)
