Before the holidays I purchased two identical looking pairs of VANS for my daughter as I was unsure of her size. I used a coupon($ 5). The shoes, which had a red/black sale tag of $ 29.99, were a GREAT deal. I bought a 9 and 9.5. I purchased them at Altamonte Mall in Altamonte Springs Florida. On Saturday, the 26th, I returned the size 9 pair to the Journeys at Mall of Millenia in Orlando. The«manager» helped me with my return. She immediate took issue that I’d only been charged $ 30 for each pair and said I’d paid the incorrect price. She said I should have paid $ 54 per pair… I told her they’d been on sale. She reiterated that I’d not paid the correct price. I looked at her, puzzled, and said…” Would you like to give me $ 54 back?” She didn’t see that I was joking. She HARPED on and on that the price was wrong. I finally, having tired of the discussing — as my RECEIPT clearly showed I’d paid for both pair… told her I’d like my refund. She gave me the refund sans the $ 5 coupon. She then went on to tell me she would be reporting the Altamonte store because she was a manager over several stores and they had done something wrong. I said, «you are a territory manager?» Which was the implication. She said, «No, but I manage stores.» I pursued her on this because she continued to mention the other store had done some great evil and that I’d, apparently, gotten away with murder. I reminded her that the né’er-do-wells at the Altamonte store had the shoes displayed on the wall with the black and red sales tag… and that I thought it was odd that she pulled her soap box out to tell me about their errors. She said they were doing markdowns that they shouldn’t and that it was her job, as an auditor, to take care of it. Here is my point: NOTMYPROBLEM. She wasted my time being an obnoxious, nagging non-example of good customer service. She made me feel guilty for returning a pair of shoes that my daughter could not wear AND, I believe, attempted to make me feel bad that I’d gotten them on sale. BLECH.
