Sometimes, you just need a tool for a single task, and don’t want to pay for the finest quality and reliability. Enter Harbor Freight. They offer decently made (overseas) tools and hardware for a very low price. The warranties aren’t going to last a lifetime, and neither are the tools. But does it matter when you’re going to use a giant plumbing wrench just once every couple of years to fix your sink? Or a set of screwdrivers to keep around the house for the very rare project? The tools get the job done. If you need heavy duty equipment, then definitely look somewhere else. But for the occasional use tool, this is where it’s at.

Harbor Freight offers a wide variety of tools at rock bottom prices. While people are rightfully concerned about the quality of what they get here, I can honestly say I have never had any issues with tools I have bought from here. There are some items I wouldn’t trust from anything outside of the top companies, but for most other tools and light usage, Harbor Freight is enough to get you by.

Ive been buying my cheap tools here for a while. You can tell which tools are the better quality and which are not. Just look at them and you should be able to make your own judgment. Example: They have a few choices for timing lights. They have a 30 dollar timing light which, is fairly decent construction, and thicker wiring. Then there is a 20 dollar timing light, which is flimsy and the wires are extremely thin. Pick your price and you get what you pay for.
Ive purchased a few power tools here as well. They are not the same quality as my Dewalt’s, but for tools such a oscillating tools and sanders, you cant beat the price. I actually came here for an oscillating tool, which the brand they offer is Chicago Electric. Popular Mechanics rated one sold at Harbor Freight a 3.5 out of 5. You cant beat the price.

This place sells cheap Chinese tools and items. The quality is probably fairly low, but the prices are very low. They have all kinds of sales and specials going on all the time. I think most things you buy here have a limited lifespan, but they do have a lifetime guarantee on hand tools.

Great bit parking lot, easy to get in and out. The tools here are less expensive than most but great when you have a job to do and need some tools for that, and not necessarily for long term stuff.
