The gas station and C store have been re branded, and Hardees is gone. Why Hardees/Carls hates hamburger crazy Orlando is still a mystery to me…

The convenience store location isn’t all that convenient. I’ve been to this location probably 50 times over 10 years of living at the other end of Dean Rd. I’d travel from Waterford Lakes for shopping or a movie and proceed down Lake Underhill and back up Dean Rd. Little did I know that there was a Hardee’s there on the corner, in the back of the convenience store. My first impression wasn’t all that good. The menu board was half breakfast, half lunch/dinner. The man behind the counter didn’t really understand my English and seemed disinterested. Once I threw some Spanglish(Españglés?) at him, he seemed to warm up to the idea of doing his job. They have good food, but you sometimes have to wait for someone to appear, but there are usually two people working: one behind the counter and one cooking. I’m guessing that there isn’t a manager. I’d never seen one. It was surprising when I first ordered a Biscuit ‘n’ Gravy because I also asked for milk and they didn’t have any. Of course, since they were inside a convenience store, they had plenty available. I just had to go to the convenience store register to buy it. What could be more convenient? I’m glad that Hardee’s has a location, as their nearest standalone store is in Winter Garden on state road 50, several miles west of West Oaks Mall. I’m also glad that the food is good and is hot when you get it. They could work on their customer service, but it’s in a convenience store. It’s not supposed to be convenient.
