Great skate shop. This is one of the rare skate shops that is an ‘actual’ skate shop /not a retail shop that simply sells skateboards. The staff is generally knowledgable however it’s sadly near UCF so sometimes you get staff that literally doesn’t care or they just deal w/a bunch of college kids so motivation for assistance can at times be low. I’ve been going to this store since I was a teenager(33) now and yes, it’s not as cheap as buying stuff on the Internet but if you need a brick /mortar shop that has just about everything you need and good service, hands down the better skate shop in ORL. Only thing that stops this from being perfect is: — Typical retail inflated prices but I understand they have rent and employees — It’s near UCF /Seminole County so be prepared to deal w/a bunch of bros and Salt Life crowd — They hire very cute girls w/absolutely no product knowledge a lot as a marketing jam I assume.

I love this surf/skate shop. TThey moved down University with the destruction of the UC7 plaza, but the new place looks great! They’ve got a good selection of new inventory, and a whole room dedicated to sales merch at fair prices. Tons of surf gear, and a whole area of skateboards. I bought a Mullen deck that I’ve wanted for 25 yrs. At my current life stage, it’d be silly to re-enter the whole of freestyle skating, so this bad boy rests on my wall as art. I might buy another complete board from them though. Something to ride and reminisce about my joyful teenage days. Hopefully I don’t bust on the pavement. Check this place out, then walk to one of the many lunch places very close by.

Having visited all of seven skateboard shops in Orlando I have to say USS Catalyst at their new adres served my needs best. I needed various skateboard parts, this was the only shop that had nearly all the stuff I was looking for(except a specific PlanB deck, but none of the other shops had it in stock either). I also needed new trucks for my longboard, Jenny put the whole thing expertly together. This is the 4th time was at Catalyst, their new location is defenitely worth a visit, both for skateboarders and longboarders ! Cool clothes too. Thanks, I will be back on my next Orlando trip.

store has rude employees that yell and curse at customers. beware. Terrible experience with staff… who curse at customers. I suppose if you dont look like part of the 99%, or a dope smoking college hanger-on-er they dont want your business. As I tried to park my car today in their parking lot another car got behind me and refused to move. After leaning out and asking them to move over the passenger exited and began to curse at me and grab his genitals. This was all in front of my young son. We had a few choice words and he walked away like cowards do and entered the store. I went to this store to spend money for my sons birthday. I assumed the guy was a customer and just went in behind him a few moments later. To my suprise he was the wrench guy behind the skateboard counter. Needless to say I left and spent my $ 200.00 at another store. If you see the guy you will know him. He is a shorter uglier versino of Benicio Del Toro. Im thankful my son was there, if not I may have gone to jail.

This store is perfect for the students of UCF. It’s just a stone’s throw from campus and serves the many skateboarders very well. I am not a skateboarder myself, but I really enjoyed browsing their boards and wheels. They have a nice display case and wall full of unique boards and the hardware that accompanies them. In a similar fashion, they have a section solely devoted to those who surf. Neither area is extremely large, but big enough for enthusiasts to get their fix. The majority of the store is dedicated to fashion and shoes that embody that style. Roxy, Reef, Rainbow, Quiksilver and some other brands I didn’t recognize were all visible. The clothes they had fit in nicely with my idea of beach gear. Cute bathing suits and an array of practical yet stylish flip flops. They had good music playing(Green Day) and excellent sales. The overall décor wasn’t entirely unique, but in a way, it made me pay more attention to the merchandise which I imagine is their goal.

I’ve never been one to shop in surf/skate shops for clothes or gear because, well, I don’t skate or surf and the clothes just aren’t my style. However, the reason I do shop in University Surf and Sport is because they carry Reef, Roxy and Rainbow sandals, three of my favorite brands of sandals. They are all so comfortable and can go with most outfits. This little skate shop is located directly across the street from UCF in the UC-7 plaze next to the Knight Library. Despite it’s small size, this shop is jam packed with clothes for both guys and gals, surf and skate boards and the necessary accessories, sandals, purses, bags and various other accessories for both sexes. They carry most of the major skater brands and the merchandise seems to change out often enough. As far as the prices go, they’re not cheap. However, they’re not too expensive for most items either. The sandals I buy usually run between $ 28 and $ 40 depending on the brand and style… and they last while. You’ll probably have to replace them every two to three years or so and I’m pretty sure that Rainbow sandals come with a warranty of some kind. When there is a sale the prices are very good, but you really have to keep your eyes peeled because it’s hit or miss. The stores attendants are nice, but usually busy organizing the shop or talking on the phone in most cases. The store is easy to navigate through and there are fitting rooms to try clothes on. Parking is okay, never packed until late in the night when the store is not open. Overall, not bad, but not my choice place to shop.
