Beachclub Poolside Bar and Grill at Hard Rock Hotel

Love staying at this hotel while we visit universal. Ten minute walk to park is faster than the water shuttle. After the parks, we hang at the pool. Great music and people watching. Pool menu covers all the bases for whatever you are hungry for. Drinks are in the $ 14 range if you want a plastic commemorative cup to take home (or leave there like most do). Refills with the cup are in the $ 10 range. Staff is lovely and fun to talk to. Movies play each night at the pool around s down. If you are really thirsty then you may want to walk to the bar to get your drink. It takes up to 20 minutes to get your drink order. The had a DJ at the pool one day but not the next. The DJ had pool games for kids that kept the, busy and allowed the parents to enjoy some adult time. Kids liked the ping pong tables, shuffleboard and gigantic connect 4 game. I inquired about a cabana near the pool and was quoted in the high $ 200s for the day. Not sure what it included, but they looked nice.

This was a super nice pool, we had a blast here! We set up our «spot» right near the water slide which gave us full view of the pool and allowed us to watch our kids in every area of the pool. Fantastic! The drinks were also very good and our server treated us very well!

Probably the best service I experienced at this hotel throughout our entire stay was from the bartender and servers at the pool bar. They don’t start walking around taking orders until 1pm so for our first round of drinks I walked over to the bar area. Even though what I wanted was a Bloody Mary, I had a nice conversation with the bartender and she let me try a small sample of one of the beers they had on tap that I had never heard of before (Magic Hat, which just recently started distributing in AZ). Later, when we started getting hungry, a very nice waitress came and took our order right from our lounge chairs and we were able to enjoy tasty nachos without even having to leave the shade of the umbrella. Another server brought us some Coronas later and was thoughtful enough to bring glasses of ice water as well. They were all extremely attentive and friendly, in spite of having to walk around all over the large pool area out in the hot sun all day.
