This is by far my favorite sushi place. Any time someone says«you have to try such and such place because they have great sushi” – I do, and I am disappointed. Their sushi is fresh, the variety is great, and I am never disappointed by anything I order. The only thing that I would change is the location as church street isn’t conveniently located in terms of close parking. Other than that, this is a longtime favorite of me and many I know!

Literally the BEST sushi I’ve ever had. Their Volcano roll and their orange chicken are MUST try items! The orange chicken is a bit on the pricey side but if you get a Volcano roll w/it(which is my boyfriend and I’s go-to order when we’re there) You can share because the roll is filling. LOVE this place!

Had lunch here on a weekday and got seated and served pretty quickly. Food is decent. The waiter was not friendly and ignored a question I asked about a discount since my husband(who was also with me) clearly manages the restaurant building the operate out of. He just looked at me like I was speaking Hebrew and left. I wish the manager would be on top of their wait staff and customer service skills. Dissapointing. Management, if you read your reviews please don’t have staff working there who are not happy to be there. It simple really. Better service, returning customers, more money.

One of my favorite sushi places in Orlando! It never disappoints. The Rolls Royce may be my favorite roll ever! Other good ones include the Bubba(or spicy Bubba), Japanese Bagel, and Crunch Munch.

I can’t believe this place has only a 3 star reveiw. I will ONLY go to Amura or Shari. Best in town!

Decent sushi and prices! Enjoyed the Hawaiian roll and the Mexican roll. Good price on the hot sake. Wish happy hour lasted longer!

Fantastic Asian food in a great location with amazing happy hour deals. I’ve been to Amura a few times for lunch and for happy hour. Each time, everything has been great. Amura is located right next to Graffiti Junction and Jersey Mike’s on your way to the Suntrust Parking Garage. It is a great place to stop if you are going to see a play upstairs at Mad Cow. The doors leading inside are fairly tinted, so you’ll actually be a little surprised to walk in to this fairly well lit restaurant. I’m a huge fan of orange chicken, so that’s what I have ordered each time for lunch. The orange chicken they provide is great and always in large portions. They also have other great lunch options and a pretty good sushi menu. What I really want to talk about is Amura’s happy hour. I believe it goes from around 4 or 5pm until 6 or 7pm(6:30 I think?), but it is amazing. You can get a wide range of items for really really cheap that are really really good. I’ve gone with my wife’s family to get various types of sushi, coconut tenders, and drinks for something around $ 4-$ 8 apiece for huge portions. This has to be one of the best happy hour deals in downtown Orlando. Overall, if you are looking for some good asian fusion food and a great happy hour deal downtown, this is the place to go.

This place is awful. The service was less than adequate. I wish the location on Sand Lake would hold a training to show Downtown how it’s done.

I don’t really come here super often. I prefer Bento up the street. It’s crowded, dark, and slow. Sushi is fine, but nothing spectacular.

Been going to Amura for years. The one in Lake Mary and this one, in Downtown Orlando. They have a new-ish sign up that reads«High Definition Sushi», I really don’t know what that means but their sushi is good. The sign is odd and funny. This location is tucked away in a corner on Church Street at the base of the Suntrust building. Blink and you might miss it. My standby favorites here are the Mexican roll, bubba roll, and the volcano roll. Of all the places I have tried a volcano roll, Amura’s is by far the best in my opinion. The lunchtime bento boxes are very good and offer a lot more variety. I’ve only been here for lunch, so I don’t have anything to offer about dining here for dinner. The service is always fast, the sushi is good, and it’s a decent price.

Let me paint a picture for you… When we were seated the utensils weren’t on the table and we had to request them, twice. Our server did not even have the courtesy to give each guest their correct utensils, nor did she inform us that the sushi counter was backed up prior to ordering. All items we ordered were brought out in disorderly fashion. There was not an item that I was served that was properly cooked; the miso soup it was incredibly salty, steamed vegetables were cold and hard, spring rolls and chicken were too salty and over-fried, and the sauces were so thick they could have been mistaken for pudding. Not to mention that a tablespoon of sauce costs extra! The manager acted more like a mother hen, micromanaging in an annoying fashion rather than being helpful and kind. Our wait staff was disgruntled, unprofessional, and rude. The atmosphere of Amura perfectly exemplified the staff’s tense and stressful behaviors. I left feeling more stressed out and anxious than when I entered, and I probably got enough sodium and sugar for the next 3 days. In short, I will never eat here again.

This place is on the decline. I’ve been going to this place for about 5 years(on and off) Quality is getting worse.

We travelled a long way to revisit this place and was very disappointed. It was happy hour according to their website but when we got there they did not want to honor it because of a concert taking place at the arena. We decided to stay but with hesitation. It makes no sense that they couldn’t override the system for us, the people who paid $ 10 for parking to come see them not Mark Antony. There were only a few people eating there too. We went for the Bubba Roll, which have gotten smaller but it would of been acceptable at the HH price. They were delicious as usual but we will never go back due to the lack of customer service. We can always build a Bubba Roll at another sushi place.

Amura seemed a good choice for sushi because it’s very near the Amway Center, and we were going to the game, so the location was the main factor. That said, like many restaurants with good locations in city centers or other prime places, they can coast by on their location and not perhaps pay ample attention to other factors. They can also command steeper prices because of location, too. The interior is nice enough, pretty typical but nice enough and the service is certainly good. They had top-40 music on which I found annoying, and not even good top-40. Some J-pop or house or anything to say«I care about my restaurant enough to actually think about the music and atmosphere» would have been better than something which says instead«well I guess most customers just want to hear the same music you hear at Publix, oh well». The selection of sushi on the menu is pretty standard but some rolls looked innovative and there was a whiteboard up behind the sushi bar which listed several daily specials, though a couple seemed to be exact repeats of what was already on the printed menu. Everything I had was ok, but nothing was exceptional. The presentation also was nothing special, but the fish tasted fresh and the portions, again, were pretty standard. The prices however were something else: just my order of two rolls and a salmon nigiri(which here consists of two small pieces of fish) came to around $ 30. I don’t expect sushi to be inexpensive, no, but I eat sushi at least once a week – sometimes like five times per week. And very few places, all being quality sushi bars, would command such prices. There are restaurants like Kabooki up on Colonial which have similar price points, but then again, Kabooki is simply stellar and worth every dime. This sushi? Not so much. I would advise going to Kabooki or elsewhere in Orlando for sushi if you want to pay this much.

Food here is mediocre, not the best quality served and really poor customer service. Older woman who was hosting by far had the worst customer service. Do not recommend going to Amura’s in Downtown Orlando, Fl. For excellent quality Sushi, and exceptional customer service, go to Shari Lounge in Thornton Park.

Super delicious!!! Everything we had was so good!!! Pan fried gyoza, egg rolls, spicy calamari, chicken, udon, sashimi… AMAZING!!! I hadn’t ate this much in a long time. Udon tasted like Japan… The chicken was spicy and sweet. All the sauces… The service, excellent. The waiter was very attentive, he knew the menu and helped us out alot! Definitely go back here again!

Many people seem to rave about this place, but I was throughly unimpressed. The sushi was very uninspired. And the music they play was horrible, unless you’re a fan of Yanni and/or Kenny G. The only reason they get two stars is because our server was very attentive. If you want great sushi I’d recommend Seito Sushi.

Great sushi place and it is close to work. I love sushi and this is one of my favorite picks in Orlando. Everything is great and authentic tasting. The prices are also very reasonable. The only downside would be parking, I come here during lunch, so I avoid the parking/traffic fiasco in the evenings.

I’ve been Amura about five times, although I apparently only checked in twice. So many things are great here. Try the Ika salad. so good. Same with the spicy calamari appetizer. I’ve had the Godzilla Roll three times. It’s so amazing. Get it with something else to have variety. It is great. The green mussells are also really good. I order those almost every time I go to Amura. The staff is always friendly. I’ve had large parties in this restaurant and it’s gone smoothly. Definitely a good choice for a birthday get together. There are so many more things on the menu that I haven’t been able to try yet. I’ll be back, Amura. :)

I really enjoyed this restaurant! I came here on Wednesday with a group of 7 people. We had dinner at 6, which was still in their«Happy Hour» time. The happy hour specials are a great deal! We ordered the Coconut Shrimp appetizer and it was great! The shrimp were huge(more like prawn sized) and beautifully coated and fried. There were four large shrimp per appetizer. Since it was happy hour, we got the shrimp for four bucks per order. Crazy good deal. We also ordered a ton of sushi(happy hour prices ranged from $ 4−6/roll). We got a raw spicy tuna sushi that was delicious, a Mexico roll(which had jalapeños! Yum.), and a bunch of other rolls. We also ordered a few spring roll appetizers(really good) and someone ordered the orange chicken entrée and loved it. Lots of chunks of orange in the suace. Overall, the staff was friendly, the ambiance was pretty nice, and the food was very good and a great deal. I would definitely come back.

This was my first trip to Amura in a few years and I can say I was quite pleased and forgot how good this spot it. I happen to visit during the happy hour and was greeted with a decent menu with all of the specials. I was able to order everything I was looking for; wine, seaweed salad, and sushi, and easily saved $ 15. I’ll be sure to remember to go here more often for sure, and not just for the happy hour but boy is that a bonus!

Amura is a favorite downtown lunch spot among my co-workers. The geisha shrimp is our go-to menu item, and I think we all pretty much stick to that dish. The lunch special is a good price and the geisha shrimp is really tasty. The big gripe here is the service. Service has never been particularly great, but we just let it go because the food is good. Our last visit our server seemed to be really angry. I mean we actually saw her give another employee a really mean look. I guess she didn’t want to be at work? But that doesn’t exactly make customers want to be at your restaurant either. To add insult to injury our bitter server was kind of neglecting our table(no idea why). We experienced a classic case of the table seated after us got everything first. Good food, but I’m not in a rush to go back.

I went here for a lunch meeting around 11:45am We were in and out within an hour so that worked out well… by 12:30 the place was slammed. I highly suggest arriving early if your trying to do lunch. The meal was around $ 60.00 pricy if you ask me. We ordered 2 roles. I ordered the mexican(typical i know) 2 ginger salads hot green tea/sweet tea the mexican hit the spot!

A good, fairly-priced sushi meal, with a tasty, hot tempura app to start was the perfect end to a night at the theater downtown. After seeing a show upstairs at Mad Cow Theater, we were looking for a nearby place that would be open late and have good food. We had been wanting to try Amura for a while, but going downtown sometimes doesn’t seem worth the parking issue. We are glad we had the chance. Nice décor, good service and good food? Sold.

Amura is located downstairs from where I work and yet I have only been here a handful of times. I decided to order takeout for dinner since it’s literally on my way to the parking garage. The woman answering the phone was very friendly and confirmed I was calling the Downtown location. Which makes sense since they have 3 locations in the City. I ordered 4 different rolls and a couple of appetizers and she was able to give me a total right away($ 68!). I was a little taken aback by the total but luckily I had a gift card. When I arrived, everything was ready and packaged nicely. They had even labeled all the boxes so that my husband and I didn’t have to play a game of «Guess which roll». I had planned to leave a couple dollars for a tip but unfortunately you can’t leave on a gift card. Everything was good, some more than others. All I kept raving about was their seaweed salad! Delicious, light and filling. Just wish it was a bigger serving! Overall, while it is a convenient option for sushi in the Downtown area, it’s a little on the pricier side for me. I would probably come back for the seaweed salad though as I think that is definitely worth the money.

The service here was adequate. However, I ordered the teriyaki steak and it was underwhelming. Over garnished and the actual steak was lacking flavor without the teriyaki sauce. I know it’s a sushi place but if you’re going to serve something do it right.

I would defiantly eat here again. Although the place does close a lil early in my opinion, I still loved the food. For anyone that loves to adventurous with sushi, you gotta try the Godzilla Roll. Refer to the photos and you will see the holiness, smoked salmon and avocado on top of a stuffed roll! Gave it a 4 because for a sushi bar I would expect it to stay open past 10pm.(Came from a Magic game)
