Still the best Mexican place around IMO. Been there quite a few times since my last review though. Steak tacos still great, love the marinade on the pastor. The «jalapeños» taco is delicious but they keep the seeds in the jalapeño, burned my mouth a little bit. Just recently tried the «burrito Bol» and it was interesting. It wasn’t bad but I can’t say I’d have it again. Ratios seemed kind of off, would have rather had more rice and lettuce and less chicken… kind of turned into a soggy mess. But I took it to-​go so that may have been a bad idea, too.

Ordered a steak burrito with sour cream. Came to $ 6.83 the sour cream was an extra $ 1 and barely had any on it. The burrito is nothing to write home about. Had to try the place once and that’s all it took.

I have been going to jalapeños off and on since they opened… In the beginning we always enjoyed the authentic Mexican dishes with convenience of being right down the street… As time went on we notice the diminished size of the portions and lack of peppers and hot sauce and increase in prices… My steak burrito this last order was very disappointing… After on bite, my burrito was filled with an over abundance of lettuce and beans with bits of steak sprinkled in… This last order reaffirmed the reason I would drive an extra mile or so to places like Burrito Jalisco or Speedy Burrito for a quality and well portioned meal with no hesitation of giving plenty of peppers and hot sauce with every order

My family has been going here for years. Authentic tacos and really great salsa.
Enchiladas are solid but didn’t come with that amazing ancho chili sauce … Maybe I ordered it wrong tho.
Clean inside seating but mostly we order it to go. If you order to go make sure to get extra salsa (they give you some but I always want more.)

GREAT Mexican food! Best less than $ 10 meal around! 2 steak tacos, rice, refry, and Jarritos drink. Atmosphere is great as well with Mexican music or channel on TV. It’s nice to get away, and owners/​service is MUY GRANDE! :-)

Enjoyed the lunch deal — 2 tacos, rice (or French fries), and fountain during for a little over $ 6. Portion of meat was perfect. The steak was tasty. I wish it hadn’t taken me so long to give this place a try!
I’ll have to go back and try some of the other items!

This is the first time Unilocal failed me, this place was awful. I ordered two jalapeño tacos, and side of rice, presentation was nice and clean but I was really surprise with the portion of the rice and steak on my tacos… steak portion was about one tablespoon on each taco not to mention it was very dry. I don’t mind small portion but it has to be good I figure I can always order more if it’s good. It was a waste of money and I could have been satisfied eating subway which was next door and it would have cost me way less. Maybe I’m just a snob when it comes to mexican food because I live in Chicago but still if you can’t order a simple dish like taco I’m afraid what the other taste like on their menu. If I could give this place a negative star I would.

I’ve been coming here for as long as I can remember. My go-​to Mexican meal is a steak taco dinner from Jalepenos, and the salsa is hot and delicious. The chicken tacos are also very good — unique seasonings.

I love their steak Tacos. There is no orange sloppy grease all over the tacos like you get at El Famous Burrito. The salsa/​hot sauce they give you is delicious as well. The tostada is good as well. I’m simple and get the same thing every time I’m there so I cannot comment on the other menu items.

I go here often for the chili releno tacos and I haven’t been disappointed yet. The place is always clean and the staff is friendly. Probably one of the best fast food Mexican places I’ve found.

$ 4.95 for a burritio… make it a dinner (beans & rice) another 3 bucks. WOW.

Food is pretty good! Not really fast food because made to order. If you eat there definately get the burritos or chimichangas. The best deal is lunch for 5 dollars and just the right amount of food. Good find for a teasonably priced, authentic Mexican restaurant/​takeout.

I work in the area and wanted nachos for lunch. I know, nachos for lunch you thinking… That’s besides the point. What Mexican place uses gooey orange 7 – 11 type nacho cheese? Time to grow up!

Pretty tasty for a suburban strip mall Mexican joint. I devoured my milanesa torta in record time. For 75 cents you get a cup of hot carrots and peppers. I could make a meal of hot carrots any day.
