One of my favorite places to go, food is always very good, service is excellent and the space is very clean, can be crowded on the weekends and great wine

Ate here recently and I probably had the best salad that I have had in a LONG time(Napa Chicken). The food was excellent and the customer service was beyond excellent. I mention customer service because when my FIL came back from picking our food up, we noticed that none of the salads had any dressing. They were not salads we wanted to eat bare. We were pretty annoyed because the drive isn’t very close. When my FIL called in to complain, the restaurant manager said he could not do anything for the annoyance, but gave him a number to call. He called and the man who he spoke to was more than willing to take care of us going above and beyond by not hesitating to give a full refund AND a free meal for another visit. Wow. Just for missing salad dressing. Mistakes happen, responsibility was owned, and they made up for it. THAT my friends is what good customer service is. Not that we want mistakes to be made every time we order from them, but we know that they are willing to take care of their customers needs which, apart from the good food, would bring us back as repeat customers. Good job Cooper’s Hawk.

Just came back from lunch. Bread was dropped off at the table with no plates and was no longer warm by the time it was addressed. My salad came with no dressing and my wife’s meal was overdone. We live less than a mile and usually get around 50% of our order done correctly, so having issues with everything was a bit of a surprise, although none were overly huge. Very consistent with average quality food and average quality wine; nothing great but nothing un drinkable either. We eat here maybe once a month because it is only a few blocks away. I can’t say I recommend it but I can’t say to avoid it either.

I didn’t want to write this review. My wife and I had a great dining experience within the restaurant, even being accommodated quickly when we arrived tardy on a busy Saturday evening. We enjoyed our meals. We really enjoyed our wine flight. Service was friendly. Everything was going right. Then we ordered dessert to go. At home an hour later, we decided to dig into our slice of chocolate cake, which looked divine. I should have known something was off when my wife smelled the cake and was tentative. She took the first bite, and her face immediately soured. She then told me to taste without telling me why she made the face. I made the same face when I took a bite and was smacked in my taste buds with the unmistakeable taste and crunch of a vidalia onion within the frosting. Even then, I tried to justify it, thinking maybe it was an intentional flavor combination, even double checking the ingredients on their menu. Then I called into the restaurant and spoke to the night manager, Mr. Shakir. He was immediately apologetic for the significant mistake, asking if I could send pictures of the cake so that he could have this issue addressed in the kitchen so that it would never occur again. I complied, sending him an email with a photo attachment. He promised for us to be treated to another dining experience at the restaurant to make up for everything. That was the last I heard from him. I waited over a week, but received no communication. Annoyed and fed up, I called into the restaurant again to inquire about my grievance and see if I somehow had missed something. I spoke to a different manager that let me know Mr. Shakir was present in the restaurant but assisting another customer. He was apologetic again, promising to notify Mr. Shakir and also follow up himself to make sure this was handled. He said I should receive a call from Member Services within 24 hours. Here I am 3 days later without an email or phone call. Like I said, I didn’t want to write this negative review because we did enjoy our evening at the restaurant and fully planned on making multiple future visits. But my experience has now been completely soured by this horrendously poor customer service. I was patient. I was not belligerent. But I don’t see how anybody could expect me to return to the restaurant after being so forgotten. I was already appalled that someone might have cut a cake with an unclean knife, much less one with onions on it. You’d think they’d be tripping over themselves to make that right. That was what I thought, but clearly I thought wrong.

Excellent service and food preparation. The crab cakes and steak(filet Mignon) were cooked to perfection. I had a soup and salad as well. Cooper’s Hawk may have a large wine fan base. Their food is off the charts… upscale, premier, etc. I’ll be back for more.

You gotta Coopers Hawk in Orland Park, right? Nice, big menu. Food has always been great. Service has always been great. Wine has always been wine. No surprises here. Coopers Hawk has maintained their well executed schtick of unique meets corporate dining.

This is a nice place for winter winery replacements. The price isn’t so bad, but the menu is a bit limited. What they serve is good but the food portions and the prices don’t necessarily match… I think their hoping you’ll drink enough that you won’t notice. As for the wines, they are nice, no complaints here. This is definitely not a place for small children and/or infants. I wouldn’t bring anyone younger than a teen here. There’s just not anything here to entertain them with, at all. But it’s an indoor winery basically, therefore, it probably shouldn’t be.

A reservation is a must here unless you enjoy waiting in a hallway. We had a 7 p.m. reservation on a Friday and were seated right away. We got a large booth for just the two of us, which was nice. The dining room is LOUD. They would really use some sound deadening panels in there. Our server was nice, but she seemed super busy and rushed. She kind of did flybys by our table & didn’t seem interested in chatting with us at all. «You guys good?» was about the extent of it. We were not offered any specials. We had an appetizer and before we had even finished it, she came back for our dinner order. That was a bit too fast for us – we prefer a more leisurely dining experience. I had the Churrasco steak and found the roasted veggies to be undercooked. I didn’t bother to send them back, though. The fries & aioli were outstanding. The steak was just ok. I got chocolate cake for dessert($ 7.99) and the presentation was lacking. It looked like it was just plopped in a big bowl with a scoop of ice cream. My husband ordered ice wine but they were out. Also, the wine tasting area was PACKED and we had to fight through the crowd to even get to the hostess stand to be seated. This was our second time here and we were quite underwhelmed by our experience.

This is my third time at this particular Cooper’s Hawk and consistently the food is pretty good. However tonight we arrived around 6:30pm and the restaurant was especially busy. I went into the restroom to find stalls without tissue and overflowing garbage — really unacceptable for this type of restaurant. They originally indicated that our wait would be 45 minutes for a table and ultimately stated that they were running late and it will take longer. Fortunately after about 30 minutes, one of the bar tables became available and we took that spot(after it had been empty for a while and I had to request the table was cleaned for us). The waiter was kind, but ended up submitting our meal too close to the appetizer, which meant that we received our meal five minutes after we received the appetizer. When I mentioned this to the waiter, he said he was sorry, but to enjoy the meal! He did not even make an attempt to take the food back to keep it warm or make any modifications, it was simply too bad that the meal and appetizer both came out at basically the same time. Of course, we then tried to rush and finish the appetizer to make sure our food didn’t get too cold! Then my cousin ordered the pork chop which was like a thick piece of dry meat. Fortunately, the waiter took it back and brought her the same madeira chicken that I ordered, which she enjoyed. So, while I love the madeira chicken, I have to say that today’s experience was less than optimal.

Great place for a family dinner. Good food, good prices, and a spectacular variety of food. Drawbacks include, the waiting period as these restaurants tend to get very busy and crowded, and the fact that it pours into the service promptness as they often seem short staffed given how busy they get. I went to the Orland Park Cooper’s Hawk recently and was pretty happy with my experience. We went there with a party of 5 on a Saturday night so we did expect it was going to be busy, and it was. I had a reservation but still was told that I’d have to wait about 20 minutes. I didn’t mind the wait as we simply headed to the bar to try their $ 7 tastings. The wine selections were average to good — with their sweeter selection being of better quality in my opinion than their darker reds. Anyway, after the tastings we were escorted to our table. Our waitress was very friendly and cheerful but seemed to be very busy as it was hard for us to track her down as she ran around from table to table. I ordered my typical favorites as those are my true&tried Cooper Hawk’s items. The entres were all very well made and the portions are quite huge. Hence, for the price I’d say this is good place for families so that you can eat what you can and share the rest with your group. Here are my go-to items and my thoughts on them: — Thai Lettuce Wraps — You can’t go wrong with this. As long as you are not expecting something that’s more Asian than American. It comes with Sweet Chili-Glazed Chicken, Julienne Vegetables, Crunchy Wontons, Peanut, Cashew, and Soy Caramel Sauces. A great started for sharing. Carne Asada Flatbread — This comes with Sliced Skirt Steak, Pesto, Mozzarella, Roasted Chili Sauce, Onions, Cilantro. Definitely one of the tastiest item on their menu! As for their entres, here’s my top 3: — $ 25 for the Churrasco Grilled Steak with Chimichurri seasoning — It has Cilantro-Lime Aioli sauce, and comes with Parmesan Fries & Roasted Vegetables. $ 18 for Anne’s Chicken is also a great option. It comes with Prosciutto, Provolone, Garlic, Sage, Artichoke Hearts, Capers, Tomatoes, White Wine Lemon Sauce, Mary’s Potatoes, Asparagus. Super filling and fresh to taste. Although I don’t really go here on my own for dinner or wine tasting, when I’m in the burbs with family, this is definitely one of the most reliable places to grab quality dinner.

We made reservations for a Saturday evening dinner. It was crowded. We checked in and had a drink at the bar. Bartender served us well. We got to our table on time. My wife had the baked potato, salad, broccoli and filet mignon. I had the sirloin special with fingerling potatoes. We tasted a couple of wines before choosing a glass of wine to pair with our dinners. We shared a salad and dessert. After dinner we tasted wines at the wine bar. While dinner and service was good, we were not impressed with the wines at the bar. For the price per bottle, we — experienced in pouring — advise friends to make other selections according to their taste.

Decided to check this place out while visiting a friend and we weren’t disappointed. Although its a chain, the food and wines were all enjoyable, as well as was the service. They have a cute little gift shop to peruse while you wait which sell some very cool and unique wine gifts and paraphernalia. It does get quite busy so I recommend making reservations on a weekend. The wine flights offered a nice variety of mix and match depending on your tastes and its a great way to find a new favorite without breaking the bank on wines you may not like.

I love this restaurant! My sisters & I come here often when we go out for«Sister Day» out day. The food is excellent and the ambiance is perfect regardless what time of the day you go. Before I changed my diet, & eliminated wheat/gluten – Dr. William Davis, Wheat belly & Grain free cure, the three or four of us would all order & share appetizers before our own individual entrees arrived. One of my sisters would always order a glass or a bottle of wine depending on her mood or if we would help her indulge in on the spirits. We always order the dinner size portion meals regardless of the time of day. I always order their Salmon, one sister order their steaks & the other two sisters change their meals. We easily spend over two fifty to three hundred dollars per trip, and believe me when I say, «It is well worth it!» The whole experience.

I am very conflicted about what to write in this review. It was our anniversary and we heard that this was the place to go. We made a reservation over a week ahead of time and we arrived half an hour early to check in and look at the wine bar. I checked in and was told that my table would be ready at 7:30(which was my reservation time). As we looked around the store, you could barely browse the selection due to the huge crowds waiting, as well as, the amount of people packed around the bar stopping me from actually having a chance to ask about the wine and order a glass. It was then 7:45 and we still had not been seated, so I asked the hostess how much longer we had to wait and was told there were still 3 tables in front of us! Our reservation was at 7:30 and we made sure to check in at 7:00 so they would know we were there and we were still not seated until 8:45!!! Once seated, we had a fantastic server named Samantha who really made the dining experience fantastic and we would request to have her again. The food is well priced and it was honestly delicious. We had the calamari, the glazed salmon, and the parm crusted filets and it was all beautifully cooked. However, the fact that our reservation time was disregarded, the extreme crowd, and volume of the place would make me have to pass on Coopers Hawk. It lacked the romantic feel we were hoping for and you can forget about the wine bar unless its very late in the evening or maybe an afternoon. Definitely will be trying other places before coming back here.

Went to Coopers hawk on a Saturday night with an OpenTable reservation. Have a reservation first before coming here. It gets super packed and the waiting area is very small if you don’t want to hang around the wine shop. We were seated right away after i mentioned we had a reservation and we were taken to the back room of the restaurant. It was really dark over there and very tight in space. I ordered the prime rib sandwich and the food came out fairly quick. The sandwich was made perfectly and the asian slaw was very delicious. We also ordered a bottle of the Cooper’s Hawk red and it tasted great with our meals. We did end up buying a bottle of blueberry wine at the wine store and it was delicious as well. I’ve been the to Arlington Heights and south Barrington cooper’s hawk. I would say that Orland Park is the smallest between the two, but i would come back to this location.

We received a gift certificate for Christmas and decided to make the hour and twenty minutes drive up there. We were not disappointed! First, we can’t say enough good things about our waitress, Cori. She made our dining experience truly pleasant. Understanding it was my first time there, she recommended and had me sample a couple wines. She checked on us and really provided exceptional service! Way to go, Cori — you do your job and you do it well! The restaurant was casual. No need to overdress, but if you feel like it, wear your best! There was a mix throughout. The food — we will rave about the calamari! The pretzel crusted pork chop was amazing! If you don’t order it, you will be missing out! We also ordered the shrimp and polenta. I’ll be honest, pass on it. The picture I saw on a review looked better than the taste. Not a negative, just not a fan of the dish. Lastly, the only bad part of my review week be about the parking. They are hard pressed for spaces! And call ahead for a reservation. We did and we were glad to have done so.

Visited Coopers Hawk several times this year and became a member of the Wine Club back in the spring. Not an ideal situation, there are often crowds galore and really long waits even if you have a reservation. I’ve also noticed that some of the staff aren’t the warmest or most accommodating at this location. The food was just okay but the wine is great!

Cooper’s Hawk is still going strong. Very full house tonight. Great service. Didn’t catch our waitress’ name but she has dark hair in a long braid. She was so nice, super sweet and very friendly. My group had the calamari which was delish. It was glazed with a rich thick bright yellowish orange sauce for dipping. We enjoyed very much. Two people with me had cream of mushroom soup and tortilla which they did not finish. They didn’t seem to enjoy at all. The seafood pasta and the meatball appetizer was good. Plenty enough meatballs. I also had the Banoffee Pie for dessert. Graham cracker crust with bananas, toffee filling and whipped cream. Spectacular! I would definitely get again.

Every time I come here, I am not disappointed. We’ve been doing the wine tastings lately, which have been great. Last time we had a reservation and arrived a bit early to do the wine tasting. It was taking a bit longer than expected so I notified the hostess that we were still in the middle of the wine tasting when it was time to sit down for our reservation. She happily let me know it was no problem and that our table would be there when we were ready… which it was! I always have a hard time choosing between any of their chicken dishes or the surf and turf with the grouper/medallions combo. Everything I’ve had has always been consistently good. Oh! And we always start with a cheese platter. I’m getting hungry writing this review… Anyway, this place DOES get crowded and parking is hard to find. Make a reservation or arrive very early.

My first visit to Cooper’s Hawk was for my birthday years ago & that was an amazing experience. I can’t say the same for my most recent visit and here’s why: 1. I order the chef recommendation which was chicken great, mashed potatoes, and grilled broccoli. The chicken was mediocre, the mash potatoes were good, yet my broccoli was literally ice cold(the vegetables that came with my husbands steak were also cold… but he doesn’t eat vegetable medley anyway). So I informed our server that my broccoli was cold & she took my entire plate back to the kitchen & brought back the chicken & mashed potatoes and said they would remake the broccoli. By the time I got the broccoli everyone was finished with their meals. No apology was even offered! The final straw was our server disappeared for an unbelievable amount of time. We actually had to go hunt her down to pay the bill. I expect more from a classy establishment like Cooper’s Hawk.

Cooper’s Hawk was a great place to host a fun event. We hosted a baby shower there in early November and the staff was very helpful throughout the entire process. From the time we arrived to the time we left, they helped with whatever we needed. The large room filled with wine barrels made fun and festive backdrop for a baby shower. Adding our own decorations to the room made it pop! The food was great and the sangria was super tasty! Overall I would suggest this place to anyone in the Chicago area for a fun event!

So we came here for our 11 year wedding anniversary in hopes that we would have a good dining experience. Well it wasn’t good, it was absolutely outstanding! We started out with a couple of drinks and an appetizer. I believe it was a carne asada flatbread that had goat cheese, red peppers, onions and cilantro. It was delicious and the carne asada was tender and juicy, which is always a good thing. Our server was very attentive throughout the entire meal and made sure we always had are drinks full. The husband had something called 3 medallions which is basically three 2 ounce cuts of steak cooked to your liking and each steak comes with its own different sauce on top. His favorite was the horseradish topping and the dish came with a serving of asparagus and chunky mash potatoes that were creamy yet the pieces of whole potatoes gave it a certain flavor and texture that you really must taste to appreciate. I had the churrasco steak prepared medium well and it came with grilled veggies and Parmesan fries. My steak was perfectly cooked and came with a side sauce of chimichurri sauce which added a very distinct flavor to the already delicious steak! The grilled vegetables were cooked perfectly and had a good amount of sweetness and crunchiness and perfect amount of char. In conclusion this was our first time here, but definitely not the last! I strongly recommended, I am Isela Nieto-Orozco and I approve this message !

Went with a party of six for dinner last night. The dining room was very brightly lit, and the staff didn’t seem friendly or welcoming. It was somewhat busy, but the staff brush by you and don’t make eye contact or say a simple hello. I like to be greeted by management or owners, when dining in their establishment. It just didn’t feel welcoming. The food was great. Quality and temperature were on point. Nice restaurant on the south side, but acknowledge your patrons.

I love Coopers Hawk wine. I also like most of the menu options. I hate the fact that it is so crowded that you can barely enjoy your dinner. I am a long time wine club member. We used to love to go in and claim our wine of the month then sit down for dinner. That is a tough sell these days. It has just lost its touch as a cool winery and become a large cafeteria. We usually try to go on an off night and pick up 3 – 4 bottled of wine from the previous months. The thought of doing a tasting is out of the question. There are usually 3 people deep at the bar yelling and being pushy and rude. Years ago, the tasting rep would explain the wines, etc. now you are lucky to get your glass filled. Still an OK place but not what it used to be.

The sandwich and accompanying season fries were fantastic. The service was fine but nothing spectacular. While I was waiting for my sandwich I did enjoy a glass of the Romance Red. It is a fantastic, full bodied, fruity red. I did skip dessert this time… I think I should have gotten some to go! As you leave you see all of the amazing dipped fruits.

The ambiance was pleasant and festive. I liked the complimentary valet as it is a nice touch to the overall experience of good dining. I had the CHICKENLINGUINIREGGIANO made with portabello mushrooms, spinach and garlic cream with a smooth glass of Malbec red wine. Everything was 5-star quality. My loving and amazing boyfriend took me on a sweet and romantic date to Cooper’s Hawk. The night was awesome from the time we walked in until the time we left. My man asked me to make reservations, which I did, through OpenTable, but with me not being from Chicago, I didn’t realize there were two Cooper’s Hawk locations and I booked our reservation for the wrong location.(oops!) Well, we checked in for our reservation and the hostess informed us there was no reservation at the location we were, however said she would call the other location to let them know about the mix-up.(She was so courteous and helpful!) We were sat immediately even with the mix-up, and the staff was even able to accommodate our request of giving us a booth rather than a table. Let’s get to the menu now… OMGoodness that pretzel bread they bring out to the table is so good!(I may or may not have eaten the whole loaf, haha). Then talk about wine, wine, and more wine!!! We tasted like 6 different wines — each of them delish(although quite sweet) — before we chose a glass of the Shiraz(in my opinion, you can’t ever go wrong with Shiraz). Dinner was mouthwateringly(is that even a word?) phenomenal!!! My man got the filet which melted in your mouth, literally. It was so tender and juicy and cooked just right, with a side of mash, mushrooms, and broccoli. I ordered the Herb-Roasted Chicken Giardiniera which was amazing! Everything was so juicy and flavorful, it was like an explosion of flavors in my mouth. I wish I would’ve had room for dessert to try one of the decadent truffles or desserts on the menu, but I was too full to even attempt to go for dessert. Next time, though…
