Fresh new restaurant in Theater District with delicious Italian cuisine. Generous servings warm friendly atmosphere and super attentive wait staff. I had the Osso Buco a Milanese speciality. It was probably the best I have ever eaten and I am thrilled it is now in my home town. Others have mentioned they thought the prices were high, I do not agree. Also, some have said there is no kids menu, if they mean there were no chicken nuggets… that may be true. The desserts are very good too-if you save room. We will be regulars here!

We had an excellent dinner tonight. First off, the service was excellent. We were served by a charming young Italian man, handsome too for you ladies, who was very professional. Second the food was also very good. The menu was extensive and reasonably priced. I had the lamb that was cooked perfectly and my wife got the salmon. Both servings were very generous in the portions. The dinners seem what I would call country Italian. Simple, ample, and low fat. This is now the third Italian restaurant in Orinda and all are good with each offering something a little different. LaPiazza is the cute, cozy standby but the prices have gotten out of control for what you get and the menu is boring. For example, $ 25 for sole at La Piazza and $ 19 at Pellegrini. That a 30%+ higher at La Piazza. Lastly, they have a nice full bar with TV and sports on too… so the next time for me dinner at the bar with a nice beer or glass of wine. Give it a shot. We were pleased and I will be back.

Excellent food and attentive service. The pasta is wonderful as are the chicken dishes. The specials add almost another menu of items to the existing menu and it all looks wonderful. We will return!

Newly opened and still sorting things out beyond the grand opening. Warm atmosphere, super accommodating service, and fairly extensive menu. Went on a Tuesday evening at 6:30. Packed house with no reservation, but only waited ten minutes for two of us. Ordered an anti pasta dish, salad, pizza and linguine, and Chianti. The pizza crust was soggy but the cheese partially cooked. The linguine was mushy and sauce bland which explains how quickly they were able to serve the dish. The seafood mista a bit overly oily. The Chianti tepid and bitey. The oil and vinegar accompanying the bread most unusual. Never could get the two to fuse and no matter how long or hard I dipped the bread only the oil would adhere and the vinegar just stayed at the bottom of the dish. The folks were really hustling to attend to the packed crowd and little oops could be expected. I was not offered parmesan cheese with the pasta or ground pepper with the salad. But the adjoining table seated after us when the crowd thinned out were accorded these basic accompaniments. In all fairness, I suggest waiting a while longer for the folks to sort through the initial opening challenges. Again, they were really trying hard to please but the crowds were just too overwhelming.
