BevMo!

My fiancé and I frequent Bevmo! often. As do a fair amount of Lamorinda inhabitants it appears. This Bevmo! location was recently renovated — now it looks a little more hip and organized? Bevmo! has a huge selection of beer, wine, and hard liquor. Bevmo! also offers a wide variety of snack foods as well. Our only gripe is that Bevmo! doesn’t offer more of a cold beer selection. My fiancé likes to buy a bottle of craft beer at a time (he’s on a beer diet!) and sometimes there aren’t a lot of options. He might also be a big beer snob, but don’t tell him I said that.

This BevMo has impeccable customer service. I wish I’d gone here first when trying to figure out my keg tap problems. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Carla, the manager, handled my issues with ease and grace. This store will be my first stop for beer and wine in the future. They also have nice selection of tequilas.

Bought $ 800 worth of wine, beer and liquor for a party at the BevMo in Orinda on the recommendation of the catering service claiming that BevMo will take returns on the unused and unopened alcohol. Well, that was a mistake. We returned about a dozen bottles left over and they refused to take back several of them claiming they were «heat damaged» The stuff sat in our basement for ten days, which is just as cool as the BevMo store !
I thought my $ 800’s worth of business would have received a bit more customer service. But I guess not. Stay away from this place.

I think their wine sales are decent. The selection is always great, and if you cannot find what you’re looking for, there’s always an employee willing to recommend an alternate. The same applies to micro brews. Some common names could probably be had at a slightly lower price at a grocery store but it’s really a toss-​up on this and the cost of a trip negates just buying all your booze here.
Plus it’s fun to browse all the different stuff like glassware and cheeses.

Smaller Bev mo with limited parking but staff was very helpful on many different occasions with helping me pick out new wines to try based on my current favorites. In general, I like bev mo return policy to get your money back for products you don’t use. Worked out great when we bought too much booze for a party.

Excellent service and location. The staff here at this impeccably clean BevMo location is among the best I have ever experienced. Unlike many BevMo locations, this upscale community location ensures that the best spirits and wines are regularly in stock at this high volume location.

I seriously can not believe they sell MOONSHINE! and yes their customer service is perfect. Very helpful, and very quick with their transaction.

BEVMO! Seriously, it’s a one stop booze shop. It has everything you’ll ever need, including BANANA BREAD BEER!
It smells like banana bread, it has a slight hint of banana bread and it’s just an amazing craft beer!
PS. They have SOHO lychee liquor. It’s almost like candy. I don’t know if that’s a good thing though…

My 2-​star rating is only on the service level. I have been shopping here for 11 or 12 years. The selection is fantastic. The $.05 sale is terrific. They burn through staff unfortunately and I’ve seen some pretty awful and rough sales clerks.

Solid place for gettin’ most booze related items.
We hit this place up every time we’re in the area visitatin’ on the in-​laws and this time was no exception.
BevMo usually strikes out for me in terms of anybody knowing anything about their stuff, but this time the dude was really helpful in the Scotch/​Whisk (e)y isle. He managed to steer me toward a good set of shwanky gift options for my friend who digs Johnnie Walker Black.
He seemed to know his stuff as he accurately described several scotches I have already had, so I was willing to believe him on the ones I hadn’t.
Lastly, I don’t know whether this is a positive or negative, but they always hassle us just a little for having Washington state IDs, but end up letting us buy as 1) we are clearly over 21, 2) the IDs are legit and have all the fancy holograms, and 3) we have a BevMo! discount card from when we lived in Cali.

I was looking for a keg the other day and called in. The guy on the phone said he had over 90 kegs in stock. I thought that was a line of crap. But when I went in, and the sales guy took me to their cold box. I was shocked. They really did have a ton of kegs… And not just regular coor’s light beers, but almost all the finer beers you can get! I’m definitely coming back here for more Kegs. they have one of the best selections you can find anywhere in the bay area!

so it seems like anyone that sets foot in a bevmo instantly gets a hard on. i remember being much younger and going to the store in walnut creek with my dad and loving it. i had never patronized the orinda location until this past new years eve.
we were in need of some champagne for a midnight toast. it was around 6:30PM when we arrived and the first thing i noticed was the three employees standing by the front door smoking. i mean, come on. it doesn’t bother me that you’re smoking… do what you want. but maybe you could take it round back? smoking in your work apron is just trashy.
we got inside and immediately started browsing — all of the champagne had been moved to the front. out of nowhere, an employee aggressively approached us and asked if we were over 21, which was hilarious considering the group of laughing guys that were MOST DEFINITELY NOT 21 on their way out with a keg as we were walking in. we responded «yes» and the employee then asked to see our IDs. as i was taking mine out, i asked «doesn’t this type of thing usually happen when we are at the register?» he responded «yes, but you never really know what someone might do.» i assumed he meant steal, which made me laugh out loud. i mean… profiling us as a couple of thieves? i’m sure there are plenty of folks over the age of 21 that steal booze. i pointed out that i was clearly over the age of 21, snatched my ID back and headed for the door as i mumbled something about bastards not getting a cent of my money… or something like that. go to the liquor store on the corner. who cares if they don’t have the best selection.

OK, boozers! Listen up.
I went to BevMo to stock up on bubbles for my NYE party. Once inside, I hear:
*Attention BevMo shoppers, we are featuring sparkling wines at our tasting station. So, come on over to try several selections*
Of course, I make a beeline for the tasting station! I sprinted past all of those Orinda housewives (you know THOSE bitches can drink) to be first in line for the tasting. And how much to try all five selections? One quarter! That’s right. Not a quarter per taste, but one quarter to try everything.
BevMo’s tasting ploy worked. I left with several bottles to share with my dear friends to ring in 2009!

I love Bevmo but not the one in this town. My Review is based totally on customer service. I went here to pick up a bottle of wine before meeting at a friends house close by. It was really hot that day and it wasn’t much cooler in the store. Though like every bevmo they had a great selection. I gave the wine to my friend and he went to pay for it as I looked to see if there was anything else needed. The next thing I know the work «fuck» is flying out of the cashiers mouth. As I walked up to the register I could see that my friend was obviously uncomfortable. The guy behind the counter continued to take his slow time in finishing our order. He told us a story and then cursed some more. He continued to tell us a story and them degrade the town we were from. We didn’t even know this dude! I am not one of those «I’m going to write a letter to your manager» people. But I have never wanted to leave a store so fast. I seriously though he was drunk. Who swears at customers and talks crap about where we were from. I’m sorry but if you’re able to run a booze hound like me out of one of the best liquor stores in CA you aren’t doing a good job.

bevmo just doesn’t sell alcohol here, they also sell ‘gars. the selection here is better than a half year ago. gone are most of the $ 2-​$ 3 ‘gars. there are now more in the midrange &6-​$ 10 range. they also have a buy 4 get the fifth for a cent program.

3 stars because they have my favorite beer (Hitachino Nest Red Rice and White Ale). Plus, they have Casal Garcia Vinho Verde. I have a hard time finding these in stock in the City.
They have cheese, snacks and other drinking paraphernalia that make it quite convenient.
My friend Partygirl-​Now Suburban Mommy says, «It’s a pretty good selection». Whenever I come visit her, we stop here to pick up some ETOH and sometimes a bit of caviar. Her clubbing days are long gone but on occasion, thanks to BevMo, the former cagegirl dancer reemerges;)

I like Beverages and More and go to one in Albany frequently. The stores in Albany, Walnut Creek and Jack London Square are all spacious with a great selection that is easy to find. The Orinda store on the other hand is smaller and much more confusing lay out wise. I got what I needed, but I didn’t necessarily enjoy it. I also didn’t find the staff particular available, nor were they forthcoming with occupational drinking tips.
