Papa John’s Pizza

Papa Murphys has a gluten-​free pizza available. Last night for dinner we ordered one. I have two children with celiac disease so I reinforced how important it was for them to be careful about cross-​contamination. He reassured me that everything was done very carefully. When I got there he was just making a pizza. He didn’t change his gloves, and then he handed the pizza to the next person who puts the toppings on who also didn’t change her gloves either, and the pizza was put on the same place as all of the regular pizzas. I talked to the manager about this and he just blew me off and said they were very careful… I took the pizza home and fed it to my kids. Within an hour both of my celiac children were vomiting for hours… With that kind of reaction I don’t think it was a cross contamination issue. I don’t even think they used gluten-​free crust. If you have a gluten sensitivity or celiac disease I would never go here again!!!

I really enjoy their pizzas and think it’s one of the best fast food pizza places. But unfortunately the last two times I’ve ordered carry out from them the wait time has been much longer then they estimated.

This is the best Papa Johns I have ever had. I highly recommend the bbq chicken pizza. It was incredible!

So sad because papa johns used to be one of my favorite chain pizza joints. It probably was an off day but when I got my pizzas they were still doughy inside! The garlic butter sauce that they give you wasn’t melted… yuck!!! I ordered online and picked it up at the store location. The customer service was very pleasant and helpful but too bad the pizza was so doughy I ended up tossing it

Our family likes doing the family special every now and again. Yummy yummy! They have pretty good variety.

POSITIVES: The pizza was decent, and the service was quick. I ordered online for first time, and they didn’t disappoint, as it was ready when I arrived.
NEGATIVES: I wasn’t too crazy about their pizza. In fact I would’ve rather saved about $ 5 per pizza and gone to a Dominos pizza. Also, they gave us 1 packet of crushed red pepper for 4 large pizzas. When we asked for more they said they charge .65 each. Really? For 4 pizzas? I could understand that for ranch. But 1 packet per pizza should be the minimum, then charge for additional ones. The business seems stingy, and I’m already paying $ 12+ per large. They’ve definitely lost me as a customer.
PRICE: $ 9 – 16 per pizza.

Good for a chain. Not enough sauce for me.

As far as chain pizza goes Papa John’s is pretty good. I mostly order the BBQ Chicken & Bacon pizza and it’s always good.
I was a little annoyed today when I discovered I was shorted the jalapenos that normally accompany my pizza orders. They gave me one jalapeño for an extra-​large pizza. Is shorting me on jalapenos going to make up for the tough economy we’re all dealing with? I don’t really know but fortunately I’m the only one who likes jalapenos in my house.

Best pizza of the big 3 in my opinion (Pizza Hut, Dominos, Pappa Johns.) I’ve grown accustomed to anything more than Little Ceasars $ 5 pizza feeling expensive, but this is quality I’ll pay for.
Standard wait and delivery times and consistant quality.

This was the first Papa John’s I’ve ever been to! This is one of those places I see commericals for alllll the time (here in Boston) but never go to because they don’t actually exist.
They DO exist!
Got pizza here. It was pretty good! You had to pick it up yourself, but whatever. It was good! Like a couple steps up from Dominos. Thicker crust, tastier sauce, and they give you those little cups of flavored butter to dip your crusts in! I was sold. Great price too — we had a coupon so it was pretty cheap.
I don’t know if it’s worth the hype, but it’s pretty good in my book!
