WNY Immediate Care

The set up is great. Very professional and nice staff. The triage system is smart. The doctor didn’t care what I told him was typical for me versus general medical community, though. Get to wait to go someplace else that will believe that this is indeed my third strep infection and not a virus. Oh, well. Guessing it’ll be good for most people.

My bf sprained his ankle playing sports and in a rare hard-​headed tough-​guy moment didn’t leave practice to get it checked out. The next day as we’re visiting friends in West Seneca he decides that MAYBE someone should take a gander at his grapefruit sized ankle. I’m dreading going to the hospital — seriously, I love you, but tuck and roll as I drive by. I’m not wasting an entire afternoon waiting for you to have five minutes with an indifferent, exhausted doctor who will give you a half-a++ed answer after running NO TESTS and write a prescription, without any questions, for something addictive that sells for $ 30 a pop on the streets (oh wait, that was what happened when I went to a local hospital with stomach pains that turned out to be an ulcer… oh and another hospital for a back injury so bad I couldn’t walk without crying… my bad. Yet we’re worried about people selling weed?).
This urgent care, suggested by a local, was a godsend. For one, the place is clean and calming inside, not a 1970s-​sci fi tv show spaceship-​looking-​interior monolith with bleak, dirty waiting rooms. They have a flat screen monitor for check in that gets everything rolling, where you put in your own information and what is ailing you — this is automatically transferred to an attendant’s computer and when they are free they call your name. We were summoned back to a check in person in minutes, and then minutes later to an examination room. Mind you, there were lots of other people there — they were just handled EFFICIENTLY. It took us less than an hour to check in, talk with the staff, meet with a nurse, have x-​rays taken, meet with a doctor and check out. AWESOME. The staff was all incredibly friendly, laid back and professional. Afternoon saved, boyfriend not chucked from moving car, no regularly-sold-on-the-street-but-we’ll-mindlessly-give-them-out-like-pez drugs were prescribed.

Discharge paperwork took a little long but all in all a great experience

I came down with an ear infection and I was not interested in sitting in the ER so I thought I would give WNY Immediate Care a try. I arrived when they opened on a Sunday, I was in and out in 30 minutes. I waited for about 10 minutes, paperwork was simple, the nurse and doctor were helpful and answered all of my questions quickly. I have recommended WNY Immediate Care to others and they also have had great experiences.
