Food was amazing, service was even better! Eggs cooked to perfection with some of the best corned beef hash ever! Also really good is the bacon pancakes. Sooooo much bacon! Real cream for the coffee rounds it all out. Good chain, great restaurant!

They’ve gotten several awards through the years and there was something we wanted to try that was special here. Service was excellent here. Because it is somewhat busy don’t expect your food to come out too quickly. We weren’t in a rush to go anywhere, Just meetings later in the day. So, we hunkered down to enjoy a meal before our next one in about 3 hours. Dutch Baby Apple Pancakes $ 11.50 Is an interesting take on an old traditional favorite where the granny smith apples are sliced fairly thin then mixed and baked into the pancake. This thing was huge but very light. The powdered sugar was a nice complement to the sourness of the apples. Eggs Benedict $ 11.05 This is the standard Canadian bacon, two eggs on an English muffin with Hollandaise sauce. I think this is the only time Canada, England and Halland has agreed so well. Just standard faire for me, nothing special but well cooked and presented. Job well done. Coffee $ 3.05 Diner coffee that is good as it gets. Hot Chocolate $ 3.35 Didn’t taste real. Just out of the box It’s a nice place to have breakfast at with friends especially on a lazy Sunday morning. Worth checking it out if you can’t think of anywhere else to go.

Service(manager and waitress were attentive) was great, not very crowded when I came in for lunch last week on a Saturday. The corned beef hash I ordered was done the way I told them to make(crispy). The German lemon pancakes I ordered however was not I expected. My wife and I awhile ago visited the one in Anaheim many years ago and I remember the German lemon pancakes were huge! We had to take the rest home. This time it was smaller than the plate that was served in it. I work nearby and usually pass by this restaurant and always thought of having the same one of this days. It was still yummy but i was prepared to tackle the size that I thought would come with it but just disappointed. Anyway, I would still come back but maybe order a different pancake. They have quite a variety that I saw from the other customers in the restaurant that also looked very yummy.

Hello. Love the Dutch baby and the eggs Michael and add Hollandaise sauce on the side as well as the Sherry mushroom sauce. One of my favorites! Great place for families couples and even people that just want to come and have a great breakfast

I came with my friends today after playing some basketball. All the staff is extremely friendly! The wait wasn’t to long to be seated, they were all very nice and patient. There was 7 of us, so the food naturally took some time. Our waiter split of our checks and saved me some money by splitting an order with my friend. As we were getting ready to leave, our waiter passed by and my friend asked what she was carrying, it was a German pancake. She said it was and extra and gave it to us for free! So awesome, never going to forget this.

Yes I know it’s call The Original Pancake House, but I had the Crepes and french toast and it was pretty good. The omelettes are really fluffy, but lacks onion and the normal veggie like tomatoes. Branden was my server and he was not a very good waiter. I have to keep asking for coffee and he never brought it. I had to ask another waiter, then I finally got my coffee. I notice the table across from me ordered way after me, but yet they got their food first. That’s why I’m giving it a 3 star, actually I’m changing it to a 2 because for overpriced pancakes, they should atleast have better service.

This place is not as great as the location in Laguna Niguel. Both the food and service is lacking here. My husband and I had breakfast here today and after being delighted that we only had to wait 20 minutes for a table, we were greatly disappointed that we had to wait 30 minutes for our food after we ordered. And I don’t think it was the kitchen’s fault since one of our entrees was cold and our food immediately came out after I asked our server about it. Hmmm… coincidence… I doubt it. I usually get the corned beef hash and eggs. It was all very mediocre. Next time I feel like pancakes, I’ll go to the Laguna Niguel location.

I usually get their crepes since I always have the craziest sweet tooth, but today I wanted something more savory. The only savory crêpe they offered didn’t sound very protein-dense or filling, so I opt for the eggs benedict instead. It was so-so, nothing too crazy. The hollandaise sauce, however, tasted very delicious! The eggs benedict entrée also came with a side of pancakes, which was a plus. Yay! My friend had ordered chocolate chip pancakes and those tasted amazing! Low-key wished I ordered that but I really needed some protein. haha! It also came with chocolate syrup and regular syrup on the side. Amazing! It was topped off with a ton of whipped cream. Overall, the service here is great and the ambiance is very homey. I love it and would definitely come back.

A classic breakfast joint with large portions. I love their potato pancakes with corned beef hash and Irish omelette. For a lighter option, the vegetable omelette with egg whites(no cheese) is perfect. Don’t forget to try the Dutch baby. It’s a great elbow on the table restaurant to serve hearty breakfast that will last you all day. There is a parking lot in the back. For the families, this place gets crowded so leave the stroller in the car. Also, I didn’t see how anyone in a wheel chair could get in bc of the stairs. Warning though this place is very popular so expect a longer wait.

We were on our way to the Broken Yolk when we decided to stop by the Original Pancake House instead. Sometimes you just want that diner breakfast without going to Denny’s. You can get that here. And it’s perfect. I love diner coffee cups. Just something about how it keeps the coffee warm, and the cups feel so solid in your hands. Mm. I ordered the Western Omelette with sausage and upgraded to the deluxe home fries. Beau had the two eggs and turkey sausage with buttermilk pancakes. The pancakes and omelette were so fluffy and delicious. They were spongy and didn’t get too mushy with the syrup. The omelette was just too big to eat so I took 50% of it back home. The server was an absolute delight she was so friendly and attentive. This isn’t the best breakfast I’ve ever had, but it definitely hits the spot when you just want a standard breakfast. I really liked the home fries instead of hash browns with the extra special peppers and cheese on it, that was different. I will be back! And she made me a decaf to go.

I don’t know what else to say besides — believe the hype. Numerous sites/people will tell you this is the«#1 breakfast spot in OC» and I haven’t found evidence to the contrary. Great selection of pancakes and waffles. I highly recommend the Bacon Waffles and Pecan Waffles in particular. The only item I’ve found lacking was the Denver Omelette I had there. They also do a great job seating everyone, and the customer service is good. The longest I’ve had to wait on a busy Sunday morning was about a 30 min, but they’re on top of getting the food out to you and so on. The prices are reasonable. Definitely recommend.

Honestly, I would have rated this a 3.5 and round it up but I can’t really justify it to be a 4 star establishment. My boyfriend and I came here Saturday at 11:30 so we came expecting a wait. When I came up to the hostess stand to put our name the hostess was not friendly at all and just said wait while she left. Good thing the manager, who was very attending, came and took my name. The restaurant isn’t much to look at but it’s a pancake house, who cares. Our waiter was Alberto and I must say that I am very disappointed with his services. It took him forever to take our orders but he would attend to other customers who came in after us. Then he would rush off to disappear before we could inform him that we were ready to order and he was not attentive whatsoever. It seems like he wanted to get rid of us as soon as possible which is very off-putting. He did not make our experience pleasant at all but at least he got our order right. Dutch baby: Very eggy but when you put all the condiments together it was magical. It tasted like a cross between a soufflé, crêpe, and pancake. It was also very filling even though it was just one piece. Corned hash: Delicious with the perfect blend of meat and potatoes in the mix which was very well seasoned. Food was very good. Service was just miserable. I would definitely come back again but I wouldn’t get the same server.

It has been a while since I’ve been able to eat breakfast at a breakfast place! Got here around 9 am and there was no wait. The place looked really clean. We ordered a Dutch baby and corned beef hash with eggs. You can substitute the buttermilk pancakes for other flavors or get potatoes or something else. The food came fairly quickly and everything was together. I never had a Dutch baby before so it was quite interesting. The corned beef hash was good and the pumpkin pancakes were good too. They soaked up the syrup really fast though and got soggy. Our waitress was super friendly… great service.

Ehh… I don’t get what the fuss or long lines are all about. The food here is mediocre, at best. Ambiance leaves a whole lot to be desired — it’s like a large unfinished room with tables and chairs thrown together haphazardly and a handful of booths as an afterthought. But back to the food… Scrambled eggs taste and look like it came from a box. Forgettable pancakes. Bacon/sausage is your typical run of the mill stuff. The menu isn’t even exciting to read. Price point is way too high. Service is hit or miss. Seriously, you’re better off going down the street to the Broken Yolk for the same kind of food, but way better taste/quality/price. Heck, Denny’s, Coco’s, or Norm’s are even far better options. Sorry, I’m just simply not a fan.

I know this place is known for their pancakes and yes, their pancakes are very delicious and famous but what I must recommend is their Egg Benedict! I’ve had their Florentine Egg Benedict and honestly it was one of the best I’ve ever had.(It also comes with pancakes so you can have the best of both worlds!) I came here on a Saturday morning at around 9am and was shocked that there was already a large amount of people waiting. Don’t get discouraged though because the wait was actually a lot quicker than I thought. The customer service here was also very nice. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. We were checked up on often and our coffee was water was refilled when they should have been. I had a great first time and I definitely see myself coming back!

Came here with a friend to hang out and have breakfast since I’m always craving breakfast. Wait was short which isn’t usually the case. These places are always packed. We got a seat near the window with about a 100 cops. Woohoo. Waiter was very attentive at first. Got us coffees and waters and kept coming back to take our orders but we weren’t ready yet and when we were ready, he was nowhere to be found. We finally got the order in and food was quick to arrive. An almond cinnamon french toast for me and an apple pancake thing for him. My french toast was just OK. I ran out of coffee pretty quickly but there was no refill in sight. Our food got served up but no one came back to see how we were doing until I spotted another waitress to get some assistance and then I got my coffee but my meal was mostly over by this point. Meal was OK, service was subpar — making this an average experience. Could be better all the way around.
