Just walked up and there is a sign that says they are closed for business… «We are sorry to inform you that WTK is closed for business. My father and I thank you for your business…» WHAT!!! THey didn’t say anything last Tuesday… What happened???

Well… I am both thrilled and disappointed at the same time. Finally decided to try WTK this afternoon only to learn from the cashier that as of today… they’re CLOSING! That’s right, forever. I was hoping to hate their food but of course, it was freaking awesome. Loved the carne asada burrito, potato taco, etc. Why, why, why did I wait so long? Adiós WTK.

Love the crispy tacos. Very comfortable atmosphere. First time in 40 years. This is my new spot for Mexican food. Good prices. Love the retried beans. It went out of business today at 2:00pm. Sad to see it go.

Husband and I FINALLY ate here tonight after driving past it for months. We both thoroughly enjoyed the crispy chicken tacos and the enchiladas; fabulous flavors!!! Casual, clean, joyous environment. Though they seemed just slightly understaffed, the service was great. We found a new favorite restaurant!

Our first visit was a quick one — six crunchy tacos to go. Without a doubt these were the best tacos I have ever eaten. I had one beef and one potato and they were amazing! The rest of the family were in agreement, these tacos were epic! We saw this place open several months ago but only got around to trying it tonight. I regret not going earlier. The atmosphere was great, the service very friendly, and the historic connection to this El Modena neighborhood of Orange was heart-warming. We’ll be back soon — and with more time to sit down and enjoy the fantastic food and some of the local flavor.

Sitting here after finishing another set of their delicious ground beef hard shell tacos… Listening to their great sound track… the music of my youth… Elton John… The Eagles… The carpenters… I love this place!

My friend and I came here after work for a quick bite. Our order came out so fast! I accidentally ordered the wrong burrito and went back ready to order a new one. To my surprise he gave me my new burrito free of charge. Excellent customer service! Definitely our new burrito spot!

Husband and I have eaten here several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Consistently good food, service with a huge smile and an extremely pleasant atmosphere. Local gem of a restaurant in our community.

While I love the fact they are open again after being closed for so many years the food just is not what it use to be. Would be nice to see them go back to the quality of food those of us 45 years or older remember. Just isn’t the same. Refried beans are best served hot and not lukewarm. If you bring a plate out with beans and cheese on top the cheese should melt.

Small independent businesses get extra star. This place was clean and super friendly. The food was great. Great flavor. I always judge a Mexican restaurant by their rice. Easy to make, easier to mess up. And you can taste when it’s reheated. This place was on the money. The carne asada was packed with flavor. Think they are getting their beer license soon. Not a drive thru joint. Might be best Mexican spot on chapman. I’ll be back for sure.

First time here but my boyfriends parents love it here. Food took a little longer than expected but was worth the wait. Three people at the table had super burritos. They are loaded with meat, means, lettuce and tomatoes. Huge chunks of roast beef and the most delicious beans. Two others had shrimp quesadillas. They looked yummy. I had a hard taco and a chicken tamale. Both were yummy. But my favorite was the green sauce on the tamale. Came with chile lime Rice and beans. I would have liked more beans it was just a small serving. Overall the food was good and excellent value. We all walked away happy. I only gave 4 stars because of the wait.

1st time here and pleasantly surprised! Looks like a «fast food» place from the outside but really a «quick food– sit and stay a while» kinda place.(Of course, take out orders are available). The interior is VERY nicely decorated to resemble a brightly colored outdoor patio… and it’s ULTRA clean! Plus there is a great«real» outdoor seating area, as well. When my 10 yr old son walked in, his eyes lit up and he said, «this place looks cool, Mom!» The staff is extremely friendly and personable in this family owned place. But what about the food? Definitely good! My Carne Asada Burrito had really good flavor and was quite large. The menu is quite extensive for a small place. Food is ordered at the counter but brought to your table. And, the staff both checked on us and cleared the plates. Complimentary chips and salsa if you stay to eat. Great Latin tunes from multiple decades softly play in the background.(My son wanted me to mention that they have WiFi so he can play his iPod apps while here… always a plus for me!) I spoke with the Owner, Andrew, who’s family has owned the land for generations and it was previously the site of of his grandparents Mexican Market where his grandmother used to sell homemade tameles! Boy, do I wish she were still around! Some of the lighting and the butcher block table at the salsa bar are from the original market! Awww… I love the sentimentality and the love and respect for the ones that came before and made this all possible. Overall a very pleasant experience. We will definitely be back! You should check it out also!

Andrew and his crew catered a picnic for us. The food was excellent and they did an amazing job. Everyone loved the fajitas. Prices were very fair and competitive.

Shared the«white T sampler» with my mom for lunch. Freaking delicious. Great friendly faces from when we walked in. Good prompt service, and delicious food. The sampler came with tacos, taquitos, burrito, rice, beans and salad. All for 14.50? Yes, please! Chips to your table too! Everything tasted great. Highly recommend the potato taco! Will be back soon. :)

Came here for the first time today. I ordered the lunch special. 1 crispy ground beef taco, 2 machos, spanish rice and pinto beans. I have to say that I was very pleased with everything! The pinto beans were seasoned perfectly. The machos are like little pockets of melty goodness. The taco was perfectly crisp and huge! All of that and a drink for $ 5.55. Not bad. I will be back to sample more of their menu items for sure.

One thing my dad taught me was, never order the steak at a seafood restaurant. This lesson once again reared its ugly head when I chose not to heed the spirit of his advice and ordered the pancake breakfast at the White Tortilla in Orange. There’s a lot about this place I wanted to like — it seemed like a hidden gem, with the quaint, excellently-designed wooden trelis truly livening up the interior of an otherwise drab former fast-food building. They’ve done the most with what they have to work with. Unfortunately, I didn’t set them up to win, and instead ordered the most American thing on the menu of a family owned and operated Mexican restaurant. All this is to say, stay far away from the pancake breakfast. Even my 18 month old daughter tried one bite of the pancake and spit it out. It’s the one pancake I’ve ever had that no amount of butter and maple syrup could save.

The White Tortilla was a longtime staple for Mexican Food that unfortunately disappeared in the 90’s. When I drove by and saw a sign saying that this Mexican food institution was coming back to the area I was stoked to try it. It has been reopened for a while now and despite the mediocre reviews I have read from many, I decided to come on over and give the place a try for myself. I have since visited The White Tortilla Kitchen twice and both times have been exceptional in taste. On my first visit I decided to try one of their Bigger Better Burritos. After looking over the choices I decided to go with the La Fiesta Burrito which was very good. The La Fiesta burrito consist of a large flour tortilla, fire grilled chicken, cilantro lime rice, homestyle pinto beans, cheese, roasted corn and pico de gallo. The burrito was not overly large(I was expecting a bit larger for the price $ 8.95) but the quality of the ingredients was excellent and the burrito itself was filling and delicious. The menu said this came with a salad but I did not receive one for whatever reason so I am unsure if this has changed. I would definitely order this burrito again. After the good experience with the burrito, my wife and I decided to come back the following week to take advantage of their Taco Tuesday deals. All crispy tacos(ground beef, chicken or potato) are $ 1.50 or you can get a soft taco(chicken or asada) and a fish taco together for $ 2.50. My wife went with soft taco(chicken) and fish taco combination and added a potato taco as well. I went with a crispy taco trio and decided to get one beef, one chicken and one potato. Although I have heard nothing but good things, I had never had a potato taco prior to this visit and that will now change. The potato taco was excellent and was topped with cheese, tomato and sour cream. I enjoyed all three tacos as a whole but the ground beef and potato stood head and shoulders above the chicken in terms of taste. My wife seemed to enjoy the fish taco the best, but also thought the chicken was the weakest of the bunch. The service has always been decently good and the prices are about average to other similar places. They have a large indoor dining as well as patio dining areas so seating should not be an issue. They also have plenty of parking behind the building which is nice. White Tortilla also sells pinatas, which is something I didn’t expect to see and you can see some of their designs offered inside the restaurant. For those who love breakfast they also have a full breakfast menu as well. You can order anything from your standard breakfast fare of pancakes, French toast, omelettes and breakfast burritos to chilaquiles, breakfast tacos and more. I rarely eat breakfast but this will for sure be something I will have to check out down the line as I do love a good breakfast on occasion. Overall I am happy to have found another quality place for Taco Tuesday’s and will definitely be stopping back by again for more visits in the future.
