Let me start by saying I’ve had brunch here before and it’s fabulous. However, this past Valentine’s Day dinner, was awful. My fiancé and I won a contest for dinner for two here, and since we weren’t doing anything else that day we figured why not? free dinner! It was a preset menu that included a shrimp cocktail appetizer, salad, filet mignon, lobster tail, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Sounds like you’d be stuffed, right? WRONG. The portions were tiny and everything just tasted very bland. Another thing, the wait staff, while very attentive, were just staring at everybody the entire time which made me very uncomfortable. It was like they wanted you out of there as fast as possible. I’m glad our meal was free, or I would’ve been pissed to pay $ 190 for mediocre food. My fiancé and I were still hungry at the end of it all, so we just hit the drive thru on the way home and called it a night. Will I be back? For brunch maybe, but definitely not dinner.

Ok I went here for Valentines Day. Paid a pretty penny. To be exact 240 for two. It all started off good but went downhill quick. For that price you expect 5 star service. To my disappointment the service was like 1 star. Very disappointing. Constantly had to flag down an employee, not a waiter for refill. The waiter was absentee! I really wanted to like this place but staff was more interested in conversing with each other than tending to the 240 dollar patrons. To say the least a disappointing valentines dinner. As for the food it was ok for the price. I have had better food at places that cost 1⁄3 the price. On a better note view was amazing!

The view was spectacular at this restaurant, and the hostess very friendly. The Rib eye steak was excellent along with the side dishes. One small item, however, the liquor selection is somewhat limited. The wine selection I found to be better in other restaurants, and our server asked me if I wanted my scotch served a particular way and then brought me something different. Overall, good food, but I think the views are the real winner here.

Have been coming here for lots and lots and lots of years. We actually had our rehearsal dinner there, and almost had my daughter’s wedding reception there a couple of years ago. The view is fabulous, the food is generally good, but my favorite is the Sunday brunch. Dinner has its ups and downs. The signature dish is a filet mignon and that is not my favorite cut of meat. the salad bar is extensive, and a little quirky. The Sunday brunch there is one of my favorite ones in OC. As others have mentioned, driving up the hill is a challenge, but if you think that is bad I would hate to have had a few adult beverages and then be driving down that same hill.

We got a 2:00 reservation for Sunday brunch. We waited 20 minutes for a table. I told my wife that she better eat fast because I have a feeling that the buffet would be cleared away at 3 pm. Sure enough, two people came out at 3 o’clock and cleared away all the food in minutes. It was a rushed lunch which was fine for me since I eat fast. I’m sure the view is nicer at night but nothing spectacular during the day. There is a bunch of hastily placed rusty junk placed here and there. It might look like a mining company for a 5 year old. I thought their service was below par. People should not wait 20 minutes for a reservation and then be rushed to eat like a wolf before the food is taken away. We are fairly certain we got the 2nd class treatment because of the Groupon we used. We will never come back here even with a Groupon. I am surprised this place is still in business. Spend your time and money at a quality place guys, there are better alternatives in the area.

I was there for a business presentation. It has a good view. Prime rib was actually very good. Service was not as good as I would like, maybe because they have to fit into the time allowed to serve. I was not able to get the sauce that I like for my prime rib. It was tough to get up there though, kinda scary, maybe it was a rainy night.

5 stars for the view.(if you get lucky reserve your table during the fireworks at Disneyland. If you don’t care for that most certainly reserve for sunset. Absolutely romantic and beautiful. Phenomenal view) 2 stars for food and service. My husband and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary at this venue. We made reservations and informed them we would love a window view for a party of two as we’re celebrating a anniversary. We settled for 7:15P.M. for dinner. Arrived at 7:00P.M. and was informed our reservation was«lost». Naturally, I was disappointed and requested I speak with management. I was told it wasn’t necessary as the wait was«only» going to be 30 minutes. The hostess completely disregarded and missed the point. I explained I called the day before and the day of to confirm the reservation as we were driving nearly two hours to reach the destination. «Not to worry. I see your reservation. We’re delighted to see you at 7:15». What horse poop. We eventually got seated. Immediately ordered two stiff drinks then the coconut shrimp appetizer. I’m not too certain as to why the shrimp was so incredibly rubbery. My husband ordered the steak and prime rib. I ordered fliet mignon and scallops. Our proteins were prepared, cooked and presented nicely. Our side dishes were disappointing. During our meal we ordered a total of six drinks and ordered dessert to share. Folks, check your bill. We were charged for 9 drinks and two desserts. Before paying we brought it to the attention of our waiter. He apologized multiple times. Removed the additional drinks and desert. Comped one drink and the dessert. He managed to salvage a underwhelming experience. No manager ever came to address the reservation issue. Sadly, we will not patronize this establishment. The view is not worth the lack of attention to detail. We were hoping to have a wonderful experience. Best wishes.

Pricey but fun destination spot high on a hill somewhere in central Orange County. Not being from the area, I would have no idea how to find it again, but I might consider that possibility, since it has an impressive view reminiscent of destinations farther north in the Hollywood Hills. The drinks emphasize mixed selections over a standard beer or wine list. We tried a tea-based drink and more of a ginger beer-based one, and I found the ginger one to be far tastier. The tea had a bland sweetness that didn’t inspire me. We also ordered a generous platter of nachos, and the waitress considerately placed the meat on the side to accommodate the group vegetarian. I might have preferred that less cream and sauce be used on that dish, as it often spilled. On the whole, the place appears to be a frequent local destination, and where one of my friends relayed memories of going there in childhood, I’m sure it will continue to be a popular spot for some time to come.

I grew up in the LA area, so I have been to the Pomona Mining Co. I loved it there, so I decided to try the OC Mining Co. My boyfriend took me on a date night and I was really excited! We sat in a very nice table with a beautfiul view of the OC. We ordered drinks with the server. My boyfriend got a beer and I got a pitcher of sangria. I told the server to bring one glass because my boyfriend wouldn’t drink any of my sangria. He still proceeded to bring one and told my boyfriend«Just in case she wants to share.» and I told him AGAIN that he doesn’t need one! Then the server tells us that I am so disrespectful to my boyfriend and he is glad he doesn’t have a girlfriend like me! Umm excuse me, but I went to dinner to drink and eat, not to get relationship advice from my server. My boyfriend was VERY angry that he made this comment. My boyfriend is a server at Disneyland, and he knows all about customer service and that is not how to talk to people. We continued on with our meal. The salad bar was a pretty cool extra! We tried to continue to be nice to the server because we have manners. My boyfriend asked where do the employees park. The restaurant is on a huge hill, so he wanted to know if there was like a seperate entrance for them. The server responded very sarcastically and said that«oh we just jump off the hill with parachutes». Honestly, I was so taken back! He was so serious & rude! I honestly, will not return there! I feel like if you don’t want to serve people then don’t! My boyfriend doesn’t always love waiting on people, but that’s the job he chose, so he does it! Customer service is HUGE! I am very sad about the experience!

Wow, the view from this place is beautiful. This place is perfect for a special night out — definitely worth a visit. The driveway to the restaurant is windy and steep. I wouldn’t mind it so much if the lane was not so slim — one wrong move and your car will be tumbling down this mountain. The food, omg, there’s so much food. All the entrees come with unlimited access to the soup and salad bar. Wahhhhh??? The entrees themselves are huge, plus there is free cheese bread. Put on your sweatpants guys. Each entrée was in the $ 20 to $ 35 range. Two of us got steaks and my other friend got scallops. The steak was delicious… not the best thing ever, but pretty good. We got a great view of the fireworks from Disneyland while we were there.

OMG. This place is fantastic. First time here, decided to surprise my wife for our 12 year Wedding Anniversary. We drove 1 hour during rush hour traffic from Downey to get here. First off, I have to congratulate Susana, our waitress. What an outstanding job of being attentive, making sure our Anniversary was a memorable one, taking pictures of us with our phone of the sunset and the both us. A huge thank you for providing awesome service. Second, the food wasn’t 5 star, it was 10 star. The Steak melted in my mouth. Probably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection.

It’s OK… I have very mixed feelings about this place. Unlike other restaurants at the top of a hill, the view is not as impressive as it’s not very high. The road is steep and narrow, so gotta be careful driving up and down. As you drive to their parking lot, there’s a sign that says $ 4 service charge but no one offered us valet so we just self parked for free. I couldn’t help but notice the carpets were really dirty! Yes, there were many families with little kids dropping food to the floor but still… For Mother’s Day Brunch, the price was $ 34 on Sat/$ 38 on Sun(reg. is $ 30) which is understandable. The room with the buffet food had a salad and fruit station in the middle, crab legs nd shrimp cocktail, a row of hot entrees(including rice, veggies, pork with chile verde, waffles, seafood supreme, ribs, etc) and desserts. Right outside was a ham and prime rib carver and an omelette station. They also had a good variety of soups. I immediately noticed that the food labels were taped to the chafing dishes… not the best presentation. Since I had low expectations, the food actually surprised me as being not bad. The only items worth repeating: big scallops and shrimp in cream sauce, crab legs, and the mimosa since it’s included. My Prime rib was ok, a bit tough. The bbq rib was tasty, the pork in chile verde was tasty and spicy. The pork and rice soup was also good but spicy. The desserts are ok but they really just look like costco bought. Overall, I was disappointed about the look of the space and food but the food is ok. Service was ok too. Probably a one time experience.
