I think they just opened and I think they just kind of kept the name from the former business and dropped 1 word. I ordered the chile verde plate and it was pretty good. My husband ordered tacos and he’s picky but he finished every last bit. When you first walk in there’s a menu on top but that’s not the menu. They have it posted on the counter being that it’s a new place the property people need to remove the old menu. They seemed very friendly and eager to please. When I got my chile verde plate she gave me corn tortillas but didn’t give me the choice of corn or flour but I think because they are trying to figure everything out. I recommend it. Very good and a gentleman that had their tacos told them that those were the best tacos he had. Very good sign!

Wonderful family owned Mexican joint. Sooo friendly and helpful. The salsa is dynamite(not for the weak). Chorizo breakfast burrito was amazing! You can def tell they use fresh produce and meat. Will be coming back soon.

Bomb burritos and it was cheap as well. Got a mixed meat burrito a little bit more but it was worth it. On top of that they are extremely nice people.

I honestly don’t know what all the hype is about with this place. After reading such stellar reviews and seeing some delicious looking pictures, I was very excited to try this place out. Unfortunately, this place did not deliver. I got the super nachos with ground beef, the turkey taquitos for my son, and my girlfriend got a few tacos. All of the dishes lacked flavor and were just okay. The turkey in the taquitos was so thin and thickly wrapped in the fried tortilla that all it tasted like was a tortilla chip and definitely not worth it’s price. I believe it is a family owned restaurant and the daughter was the one who was cooking our food. The owners are very friendly, and you could tell they really care about their establishment– which explains the 3 stars I’m giving them. I don’t plan on returning since there are many other authentic mexican restaurants nearby… but check it out for yourself.

Ask for advice if first time. Owner is extremely friendly and willing to offer suggestions Great fish tacos! It does get busy but it is totally worth it. Overall great taste and flavor behind everything. Got 1 chicken, 1 pork, and 1 fish. Wish I got more fish though. It was so tasty and really relaxing. Odd to say, but it’s true I felt like if I had a beer with me I could be in Cancun.

Had the Tuesday Taco Special, 3 Taco’s for $ 5. Good price but the taco’s were very bland and tasteless. I tried the beef, chicken and pork. The pork was the best. Service was friendly no complaints there. If I go back will try one of their plate specials. I’ve seen or eaten enough of the tacos.

Time for an update, since my last review in 2011 was 2 lines. Located in a small plaza on Tustin ave in Orange near Taft sits OC Taco joint, which has been in business for a few years now. I have a thing for ground beef tacos, and this place nails it. What you get is a corn tortilla filled with seasoned ground beef and the perfect combination if shredded lettuce, cheese and chopped tomato. Pair it with their home made salsa and its foodgasim in your mouth. I ate 2 of them, and could probally eat 2 more. On the downside It could of used more meat. I orded the beast a pork chimichanga, and it was ginanormous. You need a fork and knife to eat it. It was stuffed with pork, beans and cheese, according to him. It was topped with more melted cheese and drizzled with sour cream. We also ordered chicken tacos, which he never ate. Service is great. The owners are super nice and strike up conversation with their customers. Solid 3.5−4 stars based on the ground beef tacos, horchatta, and customer service. Im rounding up to 4.

The first thing that you notice when you walk in the door is the nice décor, and how friendly everybody is. They have a great menu too. I have tried the crispy beef tacos and the chillaquilles and both were excellent. You get chips and salsa with your meal and I must say that the salsa is fantastic! You can tell that the food is all from homemade recipes and all of the ingredients are fresh. I love this place.

LOVELOVELOVETHISPLACE!!! Great food and great employees. For a Ma&Pa restaurant this is the place to go. Everything is made fresh right there behind the counter, and although the wait may be a little longer than your typical fast food(which this is not) it is well-worth the money. I highly suggest everyone check this place out.

I came in yesterday with my friend and ordered a shredded beef taco, chicken taco with beans and rice — it was fantastic. Didn’t take long at all for the orders to be completed and they tasted crunchy and fresh. Only question is to why everything is served on styrofoam plates ? Anyways, I would definitely come back !

cute place! it is clean and the people are friendly. I came in for their taco tuesday. pretty good deal, 3 tacos(chicken, beef or pork) for $ 5 either fried or soft taco. chicken was juicy and the beef was delicious. they gave thick chips and chunky with a kick salsa!

Why did it take me so long to try this place?! I guess because I never realized I was driving by it all the time! Hard to spot it in the strip mall unless you know it is there. Family owned… I have been here twice and both times they were very friendly and talkative. Stopped in this morning to pick up a couple of breakfast burritos. I love their breakfast burritos… the perfect amount of beans, eggs and potatoes and cheese! $ 17 for 2 breakfast burritos and a diet coke. It seems a little pricey to me but the burritos were good. It also came with a little bag of chips and salsa. The place seems very clean inside and there are some tables if you want to eat there. I will definitely be back!

I wanted to like it because of the high reviews and good service but… Their food just isn’t that good. AND my friend found a piece of cartilage in her nachos!!! We were both disgusted!!! Definitely doesn’t deserve it’s high rating.

Went here for lunch. Two tacos. SUPER nice people and VERY clean place, but the food couldn’t have been more ordinary. Not going back, but I do sincerely wish them well.

Great tacos and the staff is always friendly. Family-run and you’re always treated like family. Whenever I ask for recommendations on what may be the best choice for what mood I’m in, they spend the time to recommend something, even stuff that’s off the menu. Will come back again and again for their taco Tuesdays :-)

This review is just for the breakfast burritos. My husband and I got an egg, potato, and bacon one and a chorizo, egg, and potato one. Although the burritos were a tad smaller than I’m used to, both were really good! I actually thought the burrito was the perfect size. I actually got to finish it. 3 simple ingredients in each burrito; no pico, no cheese. Yet, the burrito was flavorful and piping hot. The chorizo was mildly flavored and not greasy at all. The owner explained that she makes her own chorizo, so it is really lean, and she only uses pork. I could tell! I didn’t see dark red grease oozing out of my burrito. Also, the service here is amazing. The owner was so sweet and welcoming. I will be back for more.

We walked in and were quickly greeted by friendly staff. Placed our order and they asked us to sit down. Didn’t give us a number or ask for name. We ordered the two taco plate. Had one crunchy pork taco and a soft chicken taco. Pork taco was great. A crisp fluffy shell w/great filling. Shell had a great crunch. Soft chicken taco was good. Asked about the other hard tacos, turns out those are fried w/the meat inside. They delivered the food to our table. Felt like we were family. Felt like we were visiting relatives. While eating nearly both managers came to our table and asked how we were doing. Many restaurants do this, but at OC Taco Joint, it really felt sincere and pleasant. It like Cheers meets Taco bell :-)
