I only have good things to say about this place! However if you are the type of person that refers to a culture other then your own as «ghetto» you will not enjoy this place and you will be better off going to el torito or better yet taco bell. The service here is authentically Mexican, case and point I went in there and asked him if the fish in the fish taco is grill or fried. He told me its grilled and but must have seen the look on my face and knew that I wanted it fried. He says to me why you want it fried? and I say yeah if you could and he tells me no problem! and tells the cook something and Spanish and she gets to work prepping my fish. my girlfriend ordered the carnitas torta. The torta and the tacos were awesome. I washed my food down with a modelo especial and my girl did a michilada. I am normally not a michilada type of guy but theres was actually pretty good. To top it all of all of that food the total came to 15 and some change. I enjoyed my first visit so much I went back again exactly one week later I was more observant this time and saw that they even have a small bar in there with about 8 beers on tap as well as tall boys and 12 oz beers, both domestics and imports. My girl did the asada torta this time equally as good as the carnitas on we had one week prior. This time I got the chicken enchiladas with red sauce. Normally I feel like most enchiladas at other places are drowned in cheese in an attempt to smother a lack of flavor in the sauce and filling of the enchiladas. Here there was a fair amount of cheese and even some cream but the star was really the sauce it was not runny and thin like most places it was a bit thick and was full of flavor. I cant stop thinking about them. Hands down the best I have ever had. To sum it up this place has a ton of great food, a multitude of beers all for a great price, fantastic customer service the kind you can only get in someones home, and to top it all off they stay open late and there is never a line or a wait! do you self a favor check it out you will not be sorry.

I came here looking for Authentic Mexican food and indeed is what I got, but the food did taste old, like it had been sitting out for a couple of days. When I pulled up and parked there’s was people working on their cars right outside the restaurant??? And not to mention it not being the cleanest place either. My experience was topped off by the rude cashier that looked at me like I was some type of foreign person who didn’t belong in the restaurant lol needless to say, I will definitely not be coming back here again.

Came here for the first time because I wanted street like tacos. unfortunately I dont know where to get street tacos here in Orange. :(but we tried this restaurant because it was close to home and the only place open. I’m very selective when it comes to my tacos. So I ordered 1 asada and 1 lengua(beef tongue) the asada wasn’t bad. Personally I felt like it had a bit too much pepper but still good … And 1 lengua. the lengua was well cooked and well seasoned. my tacos were stuffed with meat … Delicious ! We got there a bit before closing but even then the people didn’t try to rush us neither were they mean or rude. They were very friendly and were very courteous and polite. Definitely will go back next time I crave some lengua tacos. !!!

Really great authentic Mexican food you come for the burritos and you stay because your drunk as hell also try their tortes and tacos both equally stuffed with all that good stuff and all for a fair price. Great service too from the teen year old girl to the smiling old lady and also the old grandpa that makes all the food. Place looks kind of run down but that Dosnt matter when you eat this heavenly kind of food I’m definitely going back their

I ordered a lengua burrito. The lengua itself wasn’t bad, but I noticed some lengua bits were pink in the inside. My issue here is that the Mexican rice was very undercooked. How can you screw up rice? I still ate the burrito because I was on my lunch break and I was super hungry.

Dont eat here. I wanted really bad to like it but food was very off. I got a lengua taco which was very soft and smooshy, unlike anything I’ve had ever. Also, tried the chilaquiles which were all soggy and smooshed no tortilla chips to be seen.

This is as authentic as it gets; everything from the big, grizzly old chef in the kitchen to his short, constantly smiling and laughing female assistant(presumably his wife) to the nine year old running the cash register(granddaughter probably) to the greasy, fat laden foods combined to prove this place to be authentic. You know that feeling when you get out of the car and start walking to a place and you feel like eyes are following you? Like you’re gonna get jumped at any second? Well I went with my brother, and we’re fairly short, peaceful asian dudes. So when you notice huddled up groups of 6 foot hispanics with bandannas standing around staring you down, you can’t help but feel a bit scared, maybe alert. But here? That’s a good thing. That’s a sign of great authentic mexican food. The only thing that’s gonna hit you here is the great smell of meat and cheese about to slap you in the face when you open the door. And don’t fear the dudes around here. Not these guys, they’re teddy bears. It was a hot day today, so when I entered the place, the air was humid and musty. Air conditioning is out and the foot long TVs in the corners of the room are shut off and look like they’re from the 90s. The little girl’s mother waved at her and told her to come take our orders. It must be a family run joint, another great sign. She stood up to about my stomach, and I ordered 2 burritos, de asada and de buche(fish). Her grizzly, frowning grandpa/chef came and got the orders, mumbling on the way over to the open kitchen. His happy, giggling wife helped him get materials and they went to work, skillfully preparing the burritos, the grandpa mumbling and frowning the whole time. Our food was ready quick and as I grabbed the bag, the old man actually cracked a smile; it was a bit of a sinister and jolly combination of a smile, as if the burritos that he made were the worst that he’s ever made, or the best that he’s ever done. It was the latter. Both burritos were stellar – they were filled with rice, beans, cilantro and asada/buche. The meats melted in my mouth and grease was everywhere. The ingredients exploded; I could taste and recognize each ingredient. I felt that the cilantro was a great add to the saltiness of the meats. By the time I finished the burritos, I had to grab a fork to pick up the spillage. Delicious and authentic. I’m definitely going to be back, if not for the food, for the giggling grandma and her tiny granddaughter taking orders. Or for another glimpse of a smile from the gramps.

Tacos are awesome! I grabbed 2 carne asada and 1 al pastor. The asada was flavorful, but I definitely preferred the Al Pastor(bbq pork). Highly recommend the Pastor. Can’t wait to go back.

I often pass by this restaurant and decided to try it today for a quick snack. My friend and I ended up going fatty and ordered al pastor tacos, a bean & cheese burrito, and carne asada sope. For $ 1 each, the tacos come with just the tortilla, amazingly seasoned meat, some cilantro, onions, and salsa — but that’s all it needs to be amazing. The bean & cheese burrito was huge, and fell apart in that yummy way only legit Mexican food can. Use a knife and fork for this one. And the white cheese is really good, not the gross yellow American cheese most places use. Never had sope before, but now I know how delish it is. The carne asada was tender, lean, and seasoned so well. I love you, Dona Meche. I will be back! And they serve beer!
