Kai Sushi

Love love love! My sis and I found this place through Unilocal.We almost didn’t go in because it’s such a hole in the wall. But Unilocal wouldn’t lie so we had to try it. There was no one in there but once we sat down a bunch of people came in to pick up take out orders. Thank goodness we didn’t turn around! My favs are the Miami Vice and PA Shrimp. I also love me a good rainbow roll. Also a nice bonus is you can order ahead of time through Unilocal.We usually order ahead & pick up our orders now. This is now our go to sushi place in Orange!

Inside has authentic Japanese décor. A lot of sushi rolls to choose from. I ordered hot night, YUMMY, spicy tuna YUMMY AND tuna sushi. The tuna sushi was nice size and thick. Very tasty. I was definitely pleased with the quality of the fish here. No beer which I love Saki with sushi but it was still good. I will be back for sure.

My sons love the krunch roll. The tempura is good. They custom made a roll for my son who is very particular

Love this place. Been coming here since before I moved to the neighbourhood in ’08 and have always had top notch experience. Quality sushi, not «fast food» yet real fast service. Family owned and operated friendly, good service, good food, prices and great specials too.

Sushi in Orange… this is the place to go if you are looking for a casual dining experience or take-​out. Menu features a wide variety of roles… some of the traditional favorites like Spicy Tuna and Dynamite and many very creative ones. We decided to share a spicy tuna role and 4 servings (two pieces each) of a selection of sushi. Everything tasted very fresh. prices were reasonable, service was friendly and helpful, and you can’t beat ease of access to the location (near Starbucks on Lincoln/​Tustin). Give this place a try soon… you and your tummy will be very happy!

SLUR is overhyped, did not think it was really worth it
The baked salmon is nice but there wasn’t enough salmon and it kinda just tasted like a California roll with sauce on top
This is not a table service restaurant. It’s more like flame broiler or yoshinoya, but if it’s not busy they will bring the food to your table for you which was nice

This place is absolutely wonderful. The inside is decorated in an Asian shabby chic style and it is very interesting to look at.
The sushi itself made me fall to the floor and convulse because of how delicious it was. If someone were to look through my apartment window they would most likely deem me being terrorized by a malicious spirit because I was literally flying around my house with strong and violent movement and arm flailing raving about how delicious and beautifully fried my California rolls were.
I also found out I was allergic to avocado upon initial consumption due to the fact my lips swelled to the size of Texas — but, I didn’t care and I continued eating them and took a shot of Benadryl afterwards.

My new favorite sushi spot. Everything is so fresh and good here! Love the spicy cali rolls and the salmon lovers. Mmmmm I can’t wait to eat here again.

SOOOO easy with online ordering! Paid in advance, walked in and got my food! Easy!

Sushi was tasty and well portioned.
The only real suggestion I have is for the krunch roll. It had way too much crunchy ingredient.
Other than that this place is great.

Updated review: Everyone that my husband and I have brought here has loved the sushi just as much as we do. I almost don’t want to say anything because I font want it to be too busy when I come here lol but this place should become more well known.

We came in this evening and ordered 3 rolls, a SLUR, a Sushi Burrito and a spicy tuna. The food was good, cold and fresh. I noticed that everything was really clean and bright. Their customer service is beyond phenomenal. The woman who took our order heard me coughing (I’ve been battling a cold for about a week and can’t seem to shake it) and while we were eating she had made me a delicious warm elixir to help soothe my throat and cough. She even made me one to go and told me to add hot water and drink it before bed. so sweet of her.

Absolutely amazing place! Great food, great service, and affordable price! I loved all the food but especially
PA shrimp and lobster roll. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!

Literally nothing negative to say about this place.

Decided to check this place out because of all the reviews and pictures on Unilocal but it ended up being very disappointed. They did not have a wide variety of rolls at all. Most of the rolls were just a variation of California rolls.

The decorations are really cute and creative! Also, that is so awesome that they have a machine water and ice dispenser that you can fill your own cup. Another cool thing is that they let you touch the iPad cash register to pay tips and give your signature.
The service is great and they serve my food very quick. They really did a good job! My «Hot Night» roll and spicy tuna roll are delicious! The sushi pieces are a bit small so my advice is, that they need to make them larger. Lastly, I love how they use the sauce to decorate my plate by drawing a tree with flowers. Hopefully I can come back again soon, this location is quite far from my home.

My review for KAI Sushi is long over due! I was craving sushi back in January when I decided to stop in for lunch! My usual go-​to sushi place is Sushi @ Sushi in Anaheim, but not wanting to drive to Anaheim, I called this place, placed an order, picked it up and enjoyed every bite.
Ever since January, I’ve been coming here for lunch when I’ve had the craving. The sushi is always super fresh and the service is always above and beyond. One time I went in, they forgot to prep my order so I had to wait a few minutes. They were very apologetic and even gave me a soda on the house to sip on while I waited.
I just got back from dining-​in today for the first time since I started coming to Kai sushi, and I must say, that I was no disappointed. The sushi was fresh and the service was great! I wish I would have caught the name of the guy who was working because he was very kind! And, it was super quick which is always a plus.
I always order lunch special E, and it was amazing! I definitely recommend Kai sushi — you won’t be disappointed.

Craving sushi, i decided this place on the rating and location.
Walking in I noticed the place was small, quiet, somewhat welcoming. I mentioned to the cashier that it was my first time there and his response was generic.
I ordered the SLUR and Sunshine (sunrise). I was told the slur was like a volcano roll which is my go to but this one the salmon was dry and the shrimp tasted like it was frozen. The sunshine roll i picked as one new to try. This roll actually surprised me. Very flavorful. Definitely would get again.
Overall liked it, wasnt impressed.

+Ono Ono Roll: Ono (white tuna) on top of Spicy Tuna Crab Meat Roll
+Lobster Roll: Baked lobster on top of California Roll
We had ordered to go and it literally took FOREVER to come out. We got pretty impatient so we ended up just eating outside the restaurant since they had a ton of seats out there.
SLUR roll was my absolute favorite – I am a HUGE salmon lover. So good, I would order 2 of these next time.
Ono Ono roll was just okay – definitely one of the more healthier rolls since there was no extra saucec drizzled on top and it was basically just white tuna with spicy tuna roll.
Lobster roll was pretty good too – they put a ton of lobster pieces on top of the roll which is always a plus.
I would come back here again to try some of the other rolls… but maybe I’ll phone in my order next time to avoid sitting around for a good 20 – 25 minutes for my to-​go food.
