So the owner is grumpy and rude. But he’s great at what he does and that’s repair shoes!

My grandmother was a spitfire and loved her heels. Came a time when she was up in her 80s and her hip was off. Joe helped me and took all if her shoes and made them just right for my grams. She was so thrilled and I was so grateful he put a smile on my grandmas face. Xxoo love my shoe repair !

Quality shoe repair is not easy to come by. Embassy Shoe Repair has taken care of my shoes for over 15 years. I still have my very first pair of Ferragamo Loafers I purchased in 1997 and they look like brand new. Good shoes are a investment and you need to take care of your investments. There is no better shoemaker in the State of New Jersey. Thank you for your dedication to exceptional craftsmanship…

I was referred to Embassy Shoe repair through my co-worker. I bought in a few pairs of my favorite shoes and when I picked them up– they looked BRANDNEW! I was so impressed! You can tell the craftsmanship really is ‘expert’ just by the finished product. The guy was nice and explained exactly what type of work was involved. I am so happy I didn’t listen to the reviews on here. I will definitely be going back in the near future.

I went to Embassy Shoe Repair to repair the heels on my work shoes. The older white haired gentleman was rude and after he gave a price he walked away. When I asked him why he walk way he said are you looking for a fight or for service? I don t believe I came across as threatening in any way. I took my shoes and walked away. I could not help to think how many people had the same experience or a similar experience and did not share it. I am just telling you my experience. The customer service at this place is horrible. He should not be in business if he could speak with his customers. Every person should be treated on a case by case basis. I m appalled this man is allowed to be in business. I gave this place one star because I could not give anything less in order to leave a review.

AVOIDATALLCOSTS. It doesn’t matter to me how good a tradesman’s work is. I simply cannot deal with people who are rude and abusive. I did not like the way this man(owner/operator) shouted at me when I asked questions and kept on calling me «lady.» I’ll go somewhere else for repairs. Center Shoe in South Orange is very reputable.

«I wanted to get my leather bag fixed so I came here. This old GRUMPY guy owns this place and he is the definition of rude! It seems like it hard to get decent costumer service now a days. I left and took my business else where!»

Yes. This man is grumpy but he also overcharges for taps on shoes 5.00 ea. You would think for that much money he would shine your shoes too. NOT!

For sure this is a grumpy old man(saw some google reviews complaining about him) but, that doesn’t bother me. My sewing machine repairman is grumpy too, but he is the only one who can fix that thing. That being said, I brought him a pair of shoes and he fixed them, and he even tied a tiny leather«thread» in some huarache style flats I had. Another pair I had of the same style in a different color, a different shoeman, he didn’t bother to tie it. It’s the little details that really count. He resoled them, and he did a nice job. He even polished them, even though I found the polish color to be slightly off, but at least they look new…
