Applebee’s

I got the chicken and shrimps. would not recommend. Loaded with sodium, had to scrape off most of the seasoning. potato fries weren’t the best. but for the deal or 2 for $ 25, I got what I deserved. the service was slow, even tho there weren’t much people to service. Maybe we just had a new waitress. Probably wouldn’t come back again.

I love going to this Applebee’s for a nice lunch date with my mom. Now that I am legal age to sit at a bar, this is where we like to sit. We always have the same nice bartender/​waitress that we now call our friend. She always greets us so nicely when we walk in and is very efficient when it comes to ordering and deciding what we want. I love to watch her make drinks because to me that’s entertaining. When the food comes out, it’s always hot and delicious. I haven’t had to complain once. The best appetizer I’ve ever had was the grilled chicken wonton tacos. They are super amazing. They have a nice crunch and the Cole slaw on top is so good. I also like the nachos. They are very tasty and the cheese is so good that they use. The nachos could be a little warmer when they come out which is why I gave 4 stars. However, the service is great and the food is always brought out in a timely manner. I will always come back to this restaurant even though it’s about 20 minutes away from my house which is quite a hike going over the Quinnipiac/​Pearl Harbor bridge.

Never walked out of a restaurant before until today. The restaurant was not even busy and My family and I sat for over 15 minutes without even being asked what we wanted to drink! The waitress blatantly ignored us.

Very good margaritas! Good steak! Awesome waitress, Candace. Enjoyed the atmosphere. Quiet and nice.

This place is bogus. The service is horrible. The waitress I had was terrible. My food was cold and so was my family’s food. Overall service the worst I have ever had. I will never eat here again, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone.

Terrible service. Took forever for our waiter to take our order. The food wasn’t as good we expected. We found hair in our food & wasn’t compensated for it. Desserts took forever to be served because we weren’t explained thoroughly how to use the machine at the table; but we still made our order with our waiter verbally. Won’t be dining here anytime soon.

I noticed that Applebee’s had a special going on which states, Big Burgers with unlimited fries” for a reasonable price so my husband and I decided to go for lunch after our doctor’s appointments at the West Haven Veterans Hospital. To our huge disappointment the special is ONLY offered on Mondays which the commercials or advertisement at Applebee’s does not state this until you walk through the doors. We ordered our burgers anyway, which we shouldn’t have done, the cost was not worth it, $ 11.99 for the burger and for .99 more you can add fries. Like I said, Not Worth It! Our waiter, Anthony was the only plus to this crazy and expensive experience. He was pleasant & kind, but we will stick with Denny’s.

Sat at the bar… took the waiter/​bartender a few mins to come over and say hello. I asked for menus, his response «ohh your going to eat». (Is it weird to eat at the bar?)
Anywho, he was the only one running around the entire bar so he was not attentive at all. We finally placed our order and it took over 20 mins for the apps to come out. They were basic –chicken wings and quesadillas– nothing exciting about them.
Then our food came out– broccoli and cheddar soup was pretty good and my husband loved his pulled pork topped cheeseburger. I was underwhelmed by the service. I had to ask another employee to clean off our plates bc our guy was so absent and my husband took ketchup from another table. He sure came around to bring my husband another beer but didn’t ask if I wanted more water.
Finally, I was looking forward to the smores churros– I asked yet another employee for the dessert but they didn’t have them. What a disappointment-​I was ready to go. That same employee took payment bc our guy still hadn’t returned.
The place wasn’t so packed– it just seemed like mismanagement.
I left with a stomachache.
Will not return.

Worst applebees by far. Did the 50 minute trip because hubby was craving to eat there. Waitress was horrible. She didn’t put my order in. Everyone else was eating and I was there to watch them eat. Told her about it and she still didn’t realize she had made a mistake. Arguing back with me like I was wrong. Then as I waited for my meal they never brought out my appetizer. I took the 2 for $ 20. I lastly told them to put my appetizer to go and I left with out. Didn’t feel like waiting another 30 minutes for a lousy appetizer. Now I see why they are closing down everywhere. Never again!

I used to bring my grandmother here for the fish sandwich, which she loved. She died years back, and I haven’t been since… until I went a month or so ago.
It was BAD.
They inexplicably have you order off iPads? Which is annoying and I’d prefer a waiter taking my order when I’m at a sit down restaurant.
The food was lukewarm and not very good. Not much else to say. I got the fried shrimp and they were that gross brown color that fried stuff becomes when it’s over cooked. Yet the French fries were inexplicably soggy. We were the only people in the place and it was lunchtime.
Close it down already. No excuse for a chain to mess up fried food.

Not a great place. Service was a little slow but still all right. Our waiter didn’t talk much. My parents and sister didn’t adore their meals. My wings were a little spicy for an order of mild wings. Their lemonade was too sweet. Not Minute Maid which I would’ve enjoyed. There was a cool tablet next to our table that allowed us to play games, get our waiter, see our bill (which wasn’t high at all: $ 76 for 4 meals. An okay place to go for a family meal.

I don’t have anything bad to say about this place. I mean, it’s Applebee’s so you should know what you’re getting. Standard American fare, no problem. We got the combo deal, so we got the battered greenbeans, boneless buffalo wings, and I got the ribs and she got one of the chicken dishes.
We both liked the green beans, they were nice and crisp, the buffalo wings were fine. I enjoyed the ribs, but I guess the chicken wasn’t all that great, though I didn’t try it.
The service was fine, though it was a slow time when we went. I didn’t have any problems with the place, and I’d be fine going again seeing as I still have money on my gift cards to spend.

The food was pretty good for chain food but the service was terrible. The waitress was way more interested in flirting with guys at the bar and watching the game then actually serving people. That is totally cool if you are an actual patron of the bar… but you are supposed to be WORKING there.

Awful. The WORST APPLEBEES IVE NEVER BEEN TO.
To start off, when we came into the restaurant, it was dead. Maybe four tables the least. The host seated us and told us that our server will be serving us shortly. Five minutes past by, no one. We looked everywhere for someone to at least come by and ask for our drinks, and to see five servers just chatting away next to the bar. Three tables down, there was another waiter just pretending to clean and look busy. Not giving two shit that we been there for 15 minutes with no drinks. So we flagged him down and asked him where’s our server.
Finally someone came.

Service sucks! Slow and rude. No one waited on us so we sat ourselves. Took forever to bring us drinks and disappear for a long time. Food took forever bc theFood wasn’t good. Steak was well done when I asked for med rare. But the wings was good.

During my travel from NJ to MA, I stopped at Applebees to get half price appetizers at 11 20 pm. After ordering all appetizers, we received a bill with no discount. The manager said we needed to be seated at the bar to receive the discount, which isn’t the case at any other applebees. He also said this was clearly stated at the front entrance, which was completely false. I have no idea why they have this rule and why the waitress didn’t inform us or sit us at the bar. Restaurants should remember to treat their customers right to avoid poor reviews like these. A quick buck isn’t worth the price of a review like this.

How do you rate a chain restaurant? I guess each stands on its own and this Applebee’s is really good. Food was tastey, service was quick and efficient — no issues whatsoever, good, good, good!

Not good at all. The only good thing about Applebee’s is the fact that they give veterans a free meal on Veterans Day.

I promised I would never review a chain restaurant like this on Unilocal — after all, you already know what to expect when you go to Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, etc.
But I stopped here for dinner on a long drive after Christmas and found that the service was so incredibly bad I had to give it a one star review. Waiting forever for service, followed by the order being put in wrong, no silverware to eat with, no refills on coffee, and then waiting forever to pay. Any of these are simply human mistakes that could happen to anyone, but the way the staff was completely unapologetic about making us wait forever for the wrong food was kind of crazy. Like so notably bad that someone like me who rarely gives bad reviews is writing one two weeks after the fact.
