Mediocre food and bar… nothing awful but not worth going back to.

Loving the new management! Grady’s priority all night was making sure all his patrons where completely happy or he would do whatever was needed to make them happy. He also had an awesome personality, very humorous. Our server Amanda just completely AWESOME. She really rocked it all night and took the best care of our party of 18! While still attending other tables. She must have a twin or something: p Very selective menu but we all found something to satisfy. Nothing stellar but nothing to regret either. Good snack food for what was to be the best part of the night which was the LIVE BAND! Good choice by mgmt. to bring in an act to get the place jumping. Danced the night away and all too soon came those dreadful words we all hate to hear LAST CALL

We ordered the wings and nachos here. The verdict: burnt, dry, sucked. Don’t come here.

New place. No real signs. Great food! Fried pickles and bloody Mary’s. You can’t lose.

Under new manager and you can tell! The menu is smaller and more focused… the servers are super friendly and really seem to care about your experience and, perhaps most of all, the food is awesome and the alcohol selection just makes sense.
In particular, the Macon Melt is my favorite. How can you go wrong with Mac & Cheese and bacon on a toasted bun/​bread/​etc. of your choice… It should be their signature. HUGE improvement!

Walked in, walked right out, i think they were testing their breakfast chops but were not ready for us, only customers in and it was a ghost town staff wise, cook looked annoyed so we split, maybe next time…,

Great place, good atmosphere! The manager is good @ what he does, his interest is in the costumers needs & making them feel @ home.
I had they turkey melt & it was bomb!

Food was great! Service was great! Have a back up plan as they ran out of a lot of food and drink. Otherwise excellent. Sometimes doing something different is good for ya!

After our conversation with the manager, my perspective on this restaurant had changed. He’s well aware of the problems they’re having (food quality, slow service, design of the restaurant) and is making smart decisions to fix them.
He pared down the menu to help the staff master a few things. They’re planning on adding stuff back on in stages as things improve. Vegetarian items are a priority for the manager, whose wife is vegetarian too.
He has great plans for the design of the space to make it more accessible for sports fans. He knows the purpose of a sports bar is to watch sports, so he’s looking at pub height tables and other solutions.
As for the service, he knows it’s slow. He’s working on training employees. What impressed me was that he is taking a «customer first» approach. He wants his employees to build relationships with his customers. Not five seconds after saying that, someone walked in and the manager greeted him by name. He asked us for our names before leaving.
So, yes. My previous review reveals problems with this restaurant. But it’s clear that management is making strides to fix them. I’ll update my review to 3 stars and encourage you to check this place out. Things may be on the up and up.

First time here and I will be back!
We wanted to just have an Angry Orchard Beer so we went in here. Decided that I wanted to eat, well it helped that the manager gave me a menu when I walked in — lol. I ordered chips and salsa and then found out that I was given the lunch menu :-(I asked the waitress for a dinner one and canceled my chips and salsa. BUT they were already ready. However she was so nice as was the manager, they let me cancel it and order the spinach dip! Thank you! IT was a great decision! This dip is SSSSSSOOOOOO good!!!
Then they told me that due to the mix up they chips and dip were on them! They did not have to do that but it shows great management skills!
We will or at least I will, be back there!

The simple fact of the matter is most sports bars don’t have great food. This place is no exception, but it isn’t without its merits. We came for lunch because we wanted to watch some Sunday football.
Staff is friendly and willing to change channels for us and let us sit where we wanted. Most of the staff seemed very competent but our server seemed a little lost most of the time. We had to ask for things multiple times like more water and napkins. It also seemed like there are other options like garlic fries which I did not see on the menu and was not offered to us by the server. I also noticed after we ordered some food options on the board outside which again were not on the menu or offered to us. The owner or manager was there and did come around which was nice to see
Again I have stated most sports bars don’t have great food, but the problem with this place is it is surrounded by so many places to eat that truly have exceptional and unique food. The burgers were overcooked, and dry. I did not feel like the price justified the quality. This place should be asking how people like their burgers cooked.
In short, I might come back but only for some beer and football.

Greeter/​door man let about 15+ of my white friends in and stopped at the people of nationality which was a me (Mexican) my friends girl friend (Asian) and our other friend that was of Asian ethnicity … After denying us entry he let about 4 white people in because they had people inside. I asked the gentleman why he would treat us this way… Like he didn’t like us and he thought I was trying to provoke him and he responded with «fuck your mother»… I understand if you have a long day and you are frustrated but this is no way to treat a customer… I understand you work at a bar and maybe you don’t think you gets the tips you need from us Mexicans or people of color but either way it is uncalled for to let the «white» people in from a group and stop at the people of color… I will not be coming back and I hope others of ethnic background will not either… I will post the video of the security guard either here or on YouTube and you can judge for yourself.

Chef Tasha (executive chef) has reached out to apologize and reassure me that this is not how her business conducts itself, not many businesses do that so I might give them a second chance in the future

I don’t know why this place had a lot of 3 stars. I give it an easy! not knowing where or what we wanted for dinner… we walked around old Orange and ended up here. So GLAD WE DID. I’m a pasta lover, I order pasta most places I go. The Cappellini evoo pasta IS the best I Can remember having! !wow. I added broccoli, they did not charge extra for it! Service and prices are great. $ 7.95 for my dish. It looked beautiful also. YUM YUM. WE WILL RETURN

Love bcuz its not overly crowded at nite. A chill place to relax n snack on some good food.
I like how they have a patio in the back a major plus. Good service tho.

Save your money. Lousy food you wait for, for a long time, even though no one was in there. Horrible food

Had the 149 burger, which is a classic cheeseburger with «Kobe» beef patty.
Well, the garlic fries were good, not too salty and right enough garlic for the flavoring while not overpowering.
The burger patty was thick, but a bit dry for «Kobe» and I was not too fond of the bun, which was thick but lack texture.
The sport vibe was good, plenty of entertainment with friendly and attentive service.

I always get the Chicken and Pesto pasta with Lemon, but this time it tasted so different, it had so much olive oil in it. Hopefully next time they make it like they always do for me. DONNA is GREAT!

THE WORST:
It’s Father’s Day. They were not prepared for the amount of people that came in. I came in with my brother to meet our parents who sat outside for a few minutes while they waited for us. It was pretty quiet at this time. Our waitress came and took our drink orders and said she would come right back to take our food order. She came back ten minutes later.
More people started to come and were seated around us.
In short, she took our order and we didn’t get it until an hour and 7 minutes later. We didn’t order anything special or out of the ordinary and all the other tables around us (who sat down after us) were getting their food before us. Again, THEY CAME AND SAT DOWN AFTER US. I would’ve been more calm if it was a certain plate of food they couldn’t bring out or anything but everyone else had the same plates we had.
I don’t blame the waitress completely, but what bothered me THE MOST is how she kept saying she was going to bring our food right out (almost every time she walked by our table) and that she was sorry for the wait. I WISH SHE JUST TOLD US THE TRUTH instead of telling us she was about to bring it out. We were about to walk out and finally it comes.
Typical bar food. Enough said. One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. I usually lose patience after 30mins but I was with family.
No free meal. Barely any discount. Lost my appetite.
I’ll also add that my mom did not want any sauce on her sandwich and you guessed it! There was sauce. You would think it is easier to not add sauce when someone asks?
Do not recommend. Will not come back. Ever. Telling everyone how bad my experience was.

Great food, good price and great service. Not too busy. Good beer selection too.
I don’t think many people know about this place. It’s been pretty empty the couple times I have been there.

149 Sports Grill is located in the Circle of Orange and walking distance from Chapman University. I usually stop by here between classes with my classmates to get some lunch before our next class. I haven’t had a bad experience with them yet and I am bummed to read from other reviews that other people did not get a good experience. This place is rarely crowded and it is nice to have some peace and quiet at times. My classmates and I always felt their food was pretty good here, but it could be that we are STARVING students (haha). Nom nom nom!
Service:
The service can be a bit slow at times, but they are usually very friendly and nice to us. There were a couple of times when my classmates and I worked on our projects here and they were not bugged by it at all.

Food that I’ve ordered:
Capellini — This is a very simple pasta with fresh basil, garlic, and chopped tomatoes. It also comes with garlic bread! mmm! I’ve always asked for penne pasta since its one of my favorite types of pasta. I’ve had it with the regular spaghetti pasta before, but I think the penne pasta fits this dish better.
Vegetable Pasta — This pasta has a mixture of different types of veggies and it comes with garlic bread. It tasted pretty A-​OK.

Drinks:
Fuzzy Navel — combination of peach snapps and oj! This drink tasted very good!
Tequila Sunset — oh my gosh, the tequila was so overpowering in this drink.
*Note: Happy Hour (Monday to Friday) during 3 pm to 6 pm! Certain drinks are $ 5!
Décor:
It is decorated like a sports bar with several television screens all around. There are several tables to eat at and a bar area for people who would like to get their DRANK on. There is also a patio area in the back if you want to eat outside.
This restaurant is a place to go back once in a while. I’ve enjoyed their pasta selections so far, but haven’t tried their other dishes. If you are ever at the circle, this is a place to stop by, but keep in mind don’t have high expectations for the place and your experience will be more in the positive light.
