Not too much on the atmosphere but they make up for it with a great chili dog. A great price for a bit of nostalgia. This place has been open since 1952 and it doesn’t look like much has changed. Come for the chili dogs and shakes just make sure to get one for the road. Hidden gem in Opelika that you have to check out.

Good stuff! Footlong chili dogs were tasty — chili is more like crumbled meat — but the real winners were the shakes! I had a malted one with M&M’s — sooooo good! The kid had a butterfinger shake and he practically locked the cup clean!

I had heard that this was the place to go for a delicious footlong dog and something sweet. I decided to stop by and try it one Saturday, and it lived up to the hype! I ordered a footlong cheese slaw dog and it was delicious. This is a little 1960’s walk-up spot on the side of the road(and easy to miss), but it’s well worth it!

Looking for gourmet food? Keep looking as this place does not serve it. Want a vegan option? nope. What they serve here is greasy, cheap, and delicious hot dogs in the true southern tradition: cheap and tasty franks and delicious chili«sauce». I have been eating these dogs since i was in college at Auburn in the 80’s and they are still just as good and almost as cheap. The foot-long hot dog with chili and slaw(all the way) is the bomb. I only get to eat here every few years and am always glad to hear that it’s still open. If you love chili dogs from the south you won’t be disappointed. If you love Chicago-style garbage salad dogs… don’t bother. And DONOT forget the shake. It’s old school soft serve ice cream and makes an awesome shake.

Chocolate peanut butter shake! This is a an olé timey blast from the past! Had to stop in here because a friend was reminiscing bout the olé days of going to a dairy bar back home. Following the gps, we flew right past it and had to double back. This place is not flashy, and its right next a mobile home dealer so its kinda hard to see. I got the milk shake, It was quite tasty, real peanut butter out of the jar. Taste like you would make it at home. The menu is simple, just hotdogs and ice cream. Hopefully I can come back and get the full monty of dogs and dessert.

I find it ridiculous that this is the only hot dog place in all of Auburn and Opelika. Fortunately, they do hot dogs right and. I’d be lying if I said I got the famous foot-long hotdog and finished it all. Fortunately, the girls working here realized that might be a challenging task for one girl pointed out the ‘short’ option of the super dog. There’s no reason why anyone should not be loading up their hot dog all the way. For $ 2.79, the super dog consisted of chili, slaw, onions, ketchup, and mustard. It was basically grease and meat-hearty heaven on a bun. However, fortunately, they do hot dogs right. They also have soft-serve ice cream. I had the vanilla flavor and it felt like a bite right out of Costco’s soft-serve ice cream brought locally to Auburn.
