We’ve been taking our Oreck vacuum for«tune-ups» for several years, and have been quite happy with the product. The vacuum was in good working order, but just needed some cleaning. We called first, told them the age of the vacuum, and we were encouraged by the salesmen to bring it in. When we arrived he looked at the vacuum for about 15 seconds and said that a tune-up was a waste of money, and then pushed it aside. He said that if we were smart, we should forego the tune-up and purchase a new vacuum in the $ 300.00 and up range. We explained that the machine was only used for a small family-room area once per week. A salesman’s job is to offer alternatives and make suggestions. They should never make the customer feel foolish, but that is exactly what he did. He missed an opportunity to stand behind the quality of the product that we purchased there 11 years ago. We are certain there are other vacuums of equal quality, and that is what we will be looking for now.

Nice place! Needed a vacuum for a client and read Amazon reviews which led me to decide on the Oreck. I could have gotten the vacuum slightly cheaper on Amazon, but I decided I would like to see the unit before I bought it. The salesman was very nice and walked me through the differences between the new and refurbished units. There were other people there while I visited as well and he handled everyone well. The vacuum, a Commercial XL works just fine. I have had a Miele vacuum for years(they are very expensive) and I love it. For this client I just wanted a no frills carpet vacuum. The unit that I bought is just that. No hoses, no adjustments. On and Off. Simple and hopefully it lasts for a long time. UPDATE9⁄15: After about three months of ownership, the bag inside the Commercial XL kept coming off any time we used the unit. I took it in and they suggest adding a «bag dock» which allows you to easily slide the new bag on and securely holds it in place. The rep stated the Commercial vacuums«just do this, the bags just fall off all the time.» I did pay to have this bag dock installed… With bags it came out to $ 50. Thats a tad bit disappointing given that this was an obvious design flaw.

I purchased a heritage classic upright on 12/30/2014 and unfortunately I had to return it as my needs for a vacuum cleaner had changed. There was some initial confusion as to the return process which was promptly handled by the district manager Ted. He was outstanding and was able to handle the issue promptly and without rancor. I must also commend the store manager Ryan as he took the time to answer all of my questions regarding the vacuum cleaner and also explained that they offer service repair for vacuum cleaners in general. Even though I didn’t buy a vacuum cleaner at this time, I found a place that will service my vacuum cleaner when the time comes as the customer service provided by this Oreck store was exemplary and professional.

I came home from a business trip to find that almost every room in my house had bright purple stains on the carpet. A topical medication that had been recommended for my dog had left stains all over my house. Worse still, they there 5 days old and set. I tried every cleaner i could find and some old home remedies with no results except maybe a little spreading out of the color. Gentian Violet was in the medication and I was advised by two separate companies to give up and re-carpet! I panicked and called Ryan at my local Oreck store in Ontario. He suggested I try a half water/half rubbing alcohol in a discrete area and use my Oreck Orbitor with a clean buffing pad. Fantastic results! I think the difference was the friction heat generated by the Orbiter. Love this machine!

The fact that I even shopped here is a tribute to the fact that I’m clearly too lazy to change the channel when this company’s infomercials come on t.v. Surprisingly, the commercials did in fact plant the Oreck brand name into my peanut head, much to my embarrassment. Located just east of the Ontario Mills Mall, this is one of the few physical Oreck shops in our area. If you are like me, I never trust claims made on infomercials, so this place serves to provide people with a chance to see the product in person. The manager who helped me was friendly and knowledgeable about the product. Even though the store is somewhat on the small side, it’s clean and doesn’t feel cluttered. In terms of the product itself, it seems to be working well, but more importantly, it’s nice to know that there is a physical location that I can visit in case I need to return it or have it fixed.
