Always a fan of Benihana’s food. This location stands up to the yummy food, but location can be better. The inside is not as great as some other Benihana locations I’ve been too. But still good place to go.

i hate to give this place a bad review. but ive eaten her twice this past year and both times i got sick, my stomach was killing me when i ate the sushi :(I went during lunch time at 11am i ordered the sushi and sashimi i went back to work and had to leave cause had bad abdominal cramps and felt hot/fever and diarrhea :(i googled it and read that these symptoms are due to bacteria/virus from the fish. Scary!

I was a little upset with this visit, I had reservations for 3:45 and had to wait till 4:15 because they had to wait for other people to show up so they could fill the table. I don’t see a point in making reservations. At this time 9 of the 14 tables they have, are completely empty. Nonetheless we sat down. Took our waitress about 15 minutes to bring us drinks. When I ordered my drink I also ordered a shrimp crunchy roll. Which didn’t arrive until about 4:40. Never seen a roll take 25 minutes to prepare. I got a Long Island iced tea, absolutely the worst alcoholic beverage I have ever had. It tasted like 95% coke, 5% liquor. I should have went behind the bar and showed that bartender how to make drinks. The chef finally arrives around 4:50 and saved the day. And the reason this got two stars instead of one. He was very accommodating with our many requests and cooked everything to perfection. All in all, if you want to plan a trip here, expect poor service, sub-par at best, but excellent food. At the cost of at least 2 – 3 hours of your day.

First time here, celebrating my daughter’s graduation by having lunch. Clean place, had to wait a little. We showed up early before our reservation and they accommodated us. Lunch specials are a good deal. The service was a little slow, I mean slower than normal. They weren’t that busy. I usually get the chicken special with soup, rice, and veggies but this time I got the yakisoba, it wasn’t that great. Don’t recommend it. Overall, not a bad experience.

I’ve enjoyed Benihanas’ for decades and tonight was no exception. I do feel that I would enjoy it a bit more if they just used less garlic butter and less sodium. Tonight my chef(I don’t remember his name) made my meal perfect by using no added salt, less butter and more fresh squeezed lemon thereby providing me with a healthier and still yummy version of the Benihana Trio meal. Thank you Chef!!! We love using the generous Benihana Birthday coupon(as do others. which leaves this Benihana in Ontario packed Mon-Thurs). The servers and the hostesses are also friendly and efficient. I will be back soon and will continue to recommend this Benihana. NOTE: Be sure to make a reservation!

This is my fav place to eat during lunch. They run entrée specials that are $ 11 – 18. Usually a short wait for 15min or so. Reservations would be faster of course. Nice friendly staff and clean bathrooms are always important. My only negative critique is that the drinks are very watered down. Or maybe I’m just a professional alcoholic lol

Update from my last review. We went back again, it was kind of a make up invitation from this location since my past experience was really bad, thanks to Tracy. We booked the chef we like, Adil, and we got him to be our chef that night. With him, everything started with 4 stars already. Himself is always 5 stars to me, but I am not review him only, it’t to the whole restaurant. It was good for this time, it really need to depends on the chef and the waiter, hit and miss. We saw chef David, who was the chef caused our 1 star review last time, he was the chef of a table where we can observe. When we sit down to our table, Adil was still working for another table, and we saw David went to another table after about 5 minutes we sit down, a new table. By the time Adil finished the table, David finished his, too. You can see how short David spends time on one table, and how long Adil spends time on one table. That’s careless vs care. I appreciate that Benihana listen to the customer and care for customer’s review. I think I will come back again, but I need to remember that I put a note when I do my reservation, which is «Any chef, but David».

5 Stars! I made a reservation for 4 people at 7PM but we got hungry and got here 5:45PM yesterday 4÷13÷2016. The wait was 45 minutes but my Sister works at the Arcadia location so we got seated in 5 minutes. I ALWAYSLOVEBENIHANA! Food was AMAZING! I ordered Rocky’s choice upgraded my steak to Chateaubriand with 2 chicken fried rice with extra extra garlic butter no onions no shrooms but lots and lots of zucchini with extra garlic butter. Our server was very attentive and funny. She was always nearby to accommodate. Our chef was boring. Didn’t talk at all but I didn’t care about him. he got my food cooked right and my fiancé, brother and sister were satisfied then by all means SILENCEISGOLDEN after all.

I have been enjoying there lunch specials. Always get the lunch boat with salmon. It’s $ 11.75 for salmon and I recommend having that for lunch if you are wanting. Once in a while my family and I like to come to have this lunch special. I keep coming back for more.

To everyone complaining about waiting 1 – 2 hours to be seated. Make a reservation, benihana isn’t a spur of the moment restaurant. My party of 6 was seated about 20 minutes after my 19:30 reservation time. Which wasn’t bad. Our chef was Alfredo, which I believe is the 2nd or 3rd time we’ve had him. He never disappoints. I can’t remember our servers name; however, she was very attentive to our party. My grandmother got a piece of rice in her eye from another chef cooking at the grill to the right of her. Management came over within minutes of it happening, in which he took 30 $ off the bill for the mishap. Which was nice, considering I picked up the bill for 6 people! I usually come here 5 – 6 times a year, I’ve yet to be disappointed.

I love this place! I have been here several times and each time I have had a wonderful experience! I went last night for a birthday and it was particularly special. We had a waiter named Ferry(like the boat) and he was AMAZING!!! He was so attentive and went WAY above the call of duty. I am not a huge reviewer, but Ferry deserves to be recognized. Good service is hard to find and he was spot on. Someone give that man a raise!!! The food was delicious and our chef, Benny, was also amazing and took note of all my annoying requests with ease lol extra garlic butter!!! I will definitely be going back!

Great restaurant! I had the salmon boat for $ 11.95 and it was soooo worth it! The dish came with edamame, a variety of tempura, rice, salad, soup, sashimi, half a California roll, grilled salmon and a fresh orange. The portions were very generous and the food was very good as well, tasty and very balanced. I loved having a little bit of everything on my plate, I enjoyed mixing the flavors and discovering new ones. I had also the sumo roll which was fantastic! The rice and fish were very fresh, soft and smooth. Very flavorful, the fish was very tasty. Enjoy it without much soy sauce to taste the fish! Also 5⁄5 service, attentive and helpful waiters.

Waited 2 hours on a Sunday night haha but it was to celebrate mine, my twin brother and sister’s birthday. We chilled at the bar until we got seated at a table. Bartenders super friendly. Server was Blaze. He was cool. Super nice. But this review is deserving of ERIC. He was our chef and he was by far the best chef we’ve had at Benihanas. He was cheerful, welcoming and so completely genuine. He was talkative and so friendly. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so welcomed by a chef at Benihanas… So ERIC… 5 stars to you! Any hungry soul to sit at your table should feel honored as I did this evening. I typically go to Benihana in Anaheim but if Eric is on duty I’ll make the commute to Ontario!

Came here with my boyfriend on a Thursday, because I got a 30 $ certificate for my birthday.(it only applies on mon-thurs) I was really skeptical of coming here, because A LOT of reviews keep saying service is really bad. I mean how can you run a restaurant & have constant bad service & not fix it?!! I don’t get it. But to my surprise, the service when I went was quick & got me everything I asked for. Gave me all my sauces & Ginger, free green tea at the end & ice cream & a picture for my birthday while singing to me!(: Ordered : — New York steak, ordered medium rare & it was a little too red to my taste, but still good.(comes with soup, salad, onions, mushroom, zucchini & chef gave us shrimp for free! [:) — sumo roll(baked salmon roll) = good & pretty big! — Gotham roll = it’s like a Las Vegas roll, it was good! — eel/avocado handroll = decently good The teppan cook was not very social, but he did do a good job with all the tricks.

Meh, I’ve experienced better.(My sushi was made on the kitchen not at the table) The chef did an excellent demonstration of making his show come alive. It was one of the BESTSHOWS that I’ve ever seen. He is the reason for the 2 stars and the next star is for my daughter and I meeting a person that worked for Janet Jackson. He later introduced her to my daughter and took her to the concert the next day.

According to Wikipedia… «In the United States, teppanyaki was made famous by the Benihana restaurant chain, which opened its first restaurant in New York in 1964.» With that said, Benihana is one of those places that you have to try at least ONCE in your life. This particular location is the busiest I’ve seen(busier than Torrance & Encino). It was a two and a half hour wait on my husband’s birthday, but the diners that came after us were told«three hours». I’m glad I did not bring my five year old with me cause she is impatient when it comes to waiting. It was already hard enough for my 12 year old to wait all that time. We will definitely make reservations next time… my hubby was undecided until the last minute whether we would hit AYCE sushi, seafood buffet at Morongo Casino, or Benihana for his birthday. Hell, they are all good, but he would need three separate stomachs for ALL of that, so I can understand the indecision! BTW, we did go to the seafood buffet the next day! Everyone and their grandmothers had the coupon, which explained the zoo-like atmosphere there. My husband’s birthday is a very popular day indeed. There must have been like 20 birthdays that night. On our table alone there was three! They WILL discount $ 30 before they bring your check. So print out your coupon and show your I.D. Benihana actually encourages you to bring the coupon — the server will ask you for it before you order(at least this location does). Chef Jerry was hilarious and much better than the chefs I’ve seen at other locations. My husband ordered hibachi steak and lobster tail($ 38) and I ordered the spicy seafood diablo with shrimp, scallops, and squid($ 24). I also ordered a shrimp entrée and fried rice for my son, but he did not want the fried rice or the salad it came with(picky). Anyway, he had two onion soups(including mine), and additional miso soup on the side. I also gave him my shrimp appetizer as well. I’m glad I gave him some of my food, cause the seafood entrée I had was rather plenty. The homemade strawberry lemonade was pretty good @ $ 3.99 each(included complimentary refills). My husband received vanilla ice cream with a candle on it, but we ended up giving the ice cream over to our kid. My husband’s entrée only came out to be $ 8 after the $ 30 birthday discount. Total for three came out to $ 69 after the $ 30 discount was applied. I did not take a pic of my husband’s steak/lobster entrée b/c he stuffed it down before I knew it. He’s the type that forgets to breathe while eating. Make sure to give this place ample time because we were there for FIVEHOURS. Dinner reservations are a MUST, even on a weekday(surprise!). Benihana is worth the wait tho.

Wow, a little disappointing tonight Benihana. I only gave 2 stars because our waitress Karen was pleasant and helpful. That being said, we just sat at the sushi bar for a quick snack. We ordered hibachi chicken fried rice, and a Las Vegas roll… Simple enough right? NOPE! Our rice came out really fast, and we were surprised how fast it happened. We figured it out in our first bites… Old soggy rice! The roll takes a while so we were expecting that, then it comes out and was over cooked, and chewy. We ate it because definitely wasn’t waiting for another. We are usually never disappointed here, but tonight they must have had the«B» squad in the kitchen.

I took my family here for Mother’s Day. My parents had never been here so I thought it might be fun for them to check it out. We were also celebrating my brother’s birthday as well. I used OpenTable to make the reservation. There was a $ 20 voucher via OpenTable too if you used the«PAY» feature in the OpenTable app at the restaurant. It would have allowed me to view and pay the bill while dining at the restaurant. In theory, had it worked, it would have been great. But they must have forgotten to check me into my reservation so I was unable to pay via the app. Although we had reservations, we still waited 10+ minutes to be seated. There were large groups of people also waiting. I heard them give someone a 2 – 3 hour time-frame which I was glad that 10 minutes was all we had to wait. The chef was pretty good but not as lively as I expected him to be. We ordered the 6-course meals. I had the hibachi steak and shrimp. My mom had the filet mignon and lobster tail while my dad had the filet mignon and shrimp. My brother ordered just the hibachi steak. Everyone had the chicken fried rice. Our meal also included hot green tea, mushroom soup and a house salad with miso dressing. We also received a shrimp appetizer along with grilled zuccini and onions. There was ice cream at the end but we all passed on it because we were stuffed. It was a good meal but in comparison to other teppan places, it was lacking in value.
