The Alchemy Bar & Grill

We came here on a Friday night for a quick bite to eat before an event at the arena. Upon entering I was blasted in my ear holes with the most obnoxious rap music. It was so loud that I almost turned right back around and walked out the door, but I thought maybe it was a joke or a temporary problem so I stuck it out. My husband and I sat down and were greeted pretty quickly and shouted our drink orders to the server. Looking over the menu we could see it was pretty standard bar food. They have wings and burgers, sandwiches and Phillys. We were hoping to catch up on our day and have a conversation but that was not happening. With the level of the «music» we could only stare at each other. I was about to say something to the server about it, when I did notice that the level went down a couple notches but it was still way too loud. Don’t get me wrong, I get it, this is a bar, but this was 7:00 at night, not 10:00 or later and people were there trying to eat and talk to each other and I don’t know how that was possible with the music at the level that it was. Turn it up later when everyone just wants to drink and hang out. We waited longer than we should have for our food to come out. I ordered the steak Philly with fries. The sandwich itself was good. It was hot and cheesy. I wanted it without onions and it was prepared correctly. The fries came out lukewarm so I think they must have been done for a while before the sandwich was ready. I am sure the fries are very good when they are hot because they are hand cut and well seasoned. My husband ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich «hot» with fries. He said it was not «hot» at all, but more of a medium, but he does like very hot sauce. We used the 20% off coupon offered thru Unilocal which helped, but I don’t know if we will be back or not. I had high hopes for this new place, but between the music, the long wait, and the lukewarm fries I am thinking I might have to find another bar and grill to frequent that is just as close to my house.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place for wings and beer on Christmas Eve after a bad snow storm. We tried Alchemy because it was open and new. The bartender was great with recommendations on food and the cooks even talked to us about their wing sauces and which ones they like and why. We ordered wings and nacho fries. They brought us out samples of wing sauces that we didn’t order. They offered suggestions on new drinks also. They gave us a discount as new customers and gave us a coupon for next visit. The food was great and beer selection was good

Went to this bar and grill for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was great especially the Alchemy fries. You definitely should try!
