I had what can only be described as a magical experience with Katie at Icon. She fit me in on a busy day because I needed a last-​minute change. We both had the same idea for my hair, and were both excited about it. She gave me an awesome cut that I adore. Go here now.

I’ve been going to Icon for 7 years! Shaunna is very talented at what she does and I would be lost with her!

Bonnie gave me a beautiful up-​do! It looked amazing – a small braid that stretched around my head, and three rosettes on the back with a few tendrils around my face. It held all day long, too.

I am so happy with Icon! Bonnie is awesome.

A change that can do all of the above is a good change, maybe even a great change! Changes that affect your look and style can be tricky, especially if you’ve had a couple of negative experiences in the past.
Throughout the life of my hair since I was old enough to walk myself into a salon/​hair cutting shop I have experienced the good, the bad, and the okay. The last several years I have been fortunate to have the amazing Beverly Kaneshige of Eclipz Salon in Honolulu (
) to do my hair, cutting, coloring, & styling! Since I’ve moved to ‘The Good Life’ of Omaha, Nebraska for school, it has been a challenge to find the right stylist for my hair. I did my research on trusty ‘ol Unilocal and asked around for the perfect place to get my hair trimmed. Keep in mind, it had been ONE full year since my last trim and my hair was currently at its longest since I was in Kindergarten and my brow trimming bangs were now another layer that just grew past my chin about 2 months ago. So if you any of you are blessed with long locks you know that those shabby split ends and straggly ‘layers’ (that really aren’t layers any longer) can really get to a woman.
I read the reviews that Icon had and also read about the different stylists at this studio, I had never heard of this salon before my research so I was nervous and anxious at the same time. So, I took a deep breath dialed their number and made an appointment with Shauna. Before my appointment I went over the tips Bev would give me when she would do my hair, what I needed to describe to a stylist for them to understand the look I was going for.
Once I got there the stylists were very friendly and welcoming. I finally met Shauna and she was wonderful! She was super friendly & professional, like a breath of fresh air open to what my thoughts are and the specific look I was going for. When I started describing to her what I wanted/​needed for my hair she knew exactly what I was talking about. She even enlightened me that this ‘look’ was probably my «Signature» look by now, which is probably true! Besides the skill, patience, and complete understanding of what I was looking for, she was incredibly open to me as a person. It was as if I gained a new friend here in Omaha.
Thankfully, my hair wasn’t as damaged as I thought it was and she trimmed my edges and cleaned up the layers and graced me with my ‘old signature’ side swept bangs. When I looked in the mirror it was like I was seeing an old friend again, just with much longer locks and my red highlights grown out (which I miss btw).
If you have no idea where to go to get a new look or your «signature» look spruced up, this is the place to go! Shauna is amazing and such a great person to talk to and get to know! If you’re not sure what you want or looking for just let your ideas flow and do your best to describe what you like. I’m so happy with my experience here I already look forward to getting a bang trim when I need it :)

I recently moved to Omaha and was looking for a salon in the neighborhood. I walked into The Icon one day and just loved the feel of the place, so made an appointment with Bonnie. She’s cut and colored my hair twice now, and I couldn’t be happier!
Bonnie listened to me and then gave me exactly what I wanted, but even better than I expected (and I had high expectations). In addition to being great at what she does, Bonnie is easy to talk to and hang out with. She was a real find and I’m happy to refer her to anyone looking for an outstanding stylist.

If you want your outsides to match your insides, don’t hesitate for one second and make your first appointment at ICON. It will be the last salon you’ll ever have to visit.
I’ve been going to Lisa Anderson of ICON for about 8 years now and every single time I leave my hair appointment I feel like I can slay dragons or run for president. There’s a level of confidence the girls at ICON instill in you… or rather in your hair.
I love me some Lisa, but quite honestly I would trust any of these girls with my hair. Cut, color, style, UP-​DO (I hate that word), bang trim, you name it, these are some serious professionals I’m talking about here. They have the experience, training and knowledge to not only listen to their clients, but really understand their lifestyle and personality. They will talk to you about realistic expectations, explain why they use a certain product, tool or technique and leave you with a sense of self. YOURself, not a bizarro version of some girl in a magazine.
The salon atmosphere is like Sunday brunch meets the Golden Girls. Fun, laid back, colorful, friendly, inclusive, quirky. You not only get sweet hair to start your week (end) with, but you get the sweet experience as well and you won’t have to take out a second mortgage on your home to pay for it!

Lisa is A-​MAZE-​BALLS! she’s super talented, funny and easy to talk to. and I can relax having my hair in her hands. she DEFINATELY knows her stuff. I couldn’t be happier with the results I have gotten. i’d refer anyone to her salon. thank you, miss Lisa for making me ‘purdy’.

I don’t know why I didn’t write a review 6 months ago, but I had an excellent experience at Icon Studio. I NEVER let anyone come near my hair with a pair of scissors unless its my hairstylist in my hometown, but I was in desperate need of a haircut. I don’t have typical hair that straight and easy to work with. I have really thick hair that is enough for 3 people and styling it can be a beast. There are do’s and dont’s with thick hair, so I was on search for someone with knowledge and experience. After reading reviews both on Unilocal and Facebook, I decided to book an appointment with Katie. I got an appointment easily on the next day right after work. Keep your eyes peeled for their location on Farnam since you’ll miss it if you sneeze. The décor was super fun and mod, with neon green walls and fun pictures. Katie was absolutely amazing with my cut and she knew exactly what I could and couldn’t do to my hair. She did this fun cut called a «ponytail cut» that gave me super nice layers. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a new style or just looking for a good cut.

I see Bonnie at Icon and couldn’t be happier with the cuts and service. She is great to talk to and spends time teaching me new styling skills. The salon atmosphere is relaxed, like hanging out at a friends house, and I’ve always been able to find a parking spot right out front. The prices are on par with salons I’ve been in around the country in the past few years.

I’ve been going here for about 6 years and I absolutely love it! I love how laid back the atmosphere is. I’ve always had a great time catching up and socializing with the ladies. Not to mention the great work they all do at making sure you get your hair cut, colored, or styled the way you want it.
Sometimes I have gone in with drastic changes in mind and Lisa is always up for the challenge. Other times I just need a simply cut or bang trim.

So far so good. I’ve driven by Icon plenty of times, but never really knew what it was before I had to find a new stylist this summer. I was looking for a place with low-​key atmosphere, ass-​kicking style, and just a little bit of that ‘we’re not like those other salons’ vibe. My favorite kind of stylist is someone who is secure in their awesomeness and doesn’t act like they have something to prove… they just do what they do and people love it. Obviously friendly and personable also, and if they have tattoos that doesn’t hurt either.
After my first appointment with Katie, I feel pretty secure saying Icon is just the kind of place I was looking for. I’m the type of client that doesn’t really know what I want when I come in and just need someone else to take the reins and make me look good. That’s something you can find here. Definitely looking forward to future visits.

I have been going to the icon for about two years now and wont even consider getting my hair cut anywhere else. I have never walked away disappointed! Lisa is an amazing styalist and all the girls at the salon are fun, friendly, and accomadating. I have had several different syles and colors done here and have loved every one!

Don’t let the neon colors fool you, Icon Studio for hair is for everyone. Younger, older, male, or female, if you’re looking for a simple, trendy, or whatever haircut, the girls at Icon are able to to achieve the look you were going for.
I’ve probably waited 5 minutes at most for my hair cut. The atmosphere is simple, yet fun, and always friendly. Prices are very reasonable and comparable to cheaper than most places I’ve visited in Omaha. Their location isn’t in a trendy building or part of town, but there is a humbleness to the Icon. They really say it all with their friendliness and quality of work.
