Loved this cute store. I would have never thought about going into this store had it not been right next door to Shucks off Leavenworth… while I was waiting for my party to arrive– I decided to go take a look. Me and my luck– the owner was packing up the store because this was her last day at that location(she said the owner of the building did not want to fix her water— as the pipe had broke— too bad you can’t rate landlords on Unilocal — or can you? lol). Anyways… cute, super cute items… the prices… they weren’t rock bottom prices and that is to be expected because the products are fair trade… so the craftsmen/women get paid fairly and can help them(from developing countries). I didn’t buy anything because I wanted to look around– and couldn’t with the owner packing things up. But I def found a lot of items that I want to purchase… average item was between $ 15 – 24. She said she will open after the new year off Center Street… I’l be there!!! The owner seemed like a nice lady as well! Wish she would do better advertising. I never understood why mom and pop places don’t advertise… they are missing out on a huge population of people who might be interested in this type of stuff but may not know this place or places like this exist. It never occurred to me to look for a place that had fair trade… but the idea is awesome… ADVERTISE!!!

I love the new location of Blue Flamingo! There’s more space and it’s easy to find parking. Just like all of the other stores that offer second had wonders, I love shopping in this store. I even have a blue flaming shirt! You never know what you’ll find in this store, they even have baked goods and fair trade chocolates and a whole fair trade section of stuff you can buy. I love supporting places where the money goes to help others and this place is one of them. The prices are fairly cheap and the items brought in are unique and still in great shape! They may have a smaller assortment of goodies than goodwill, but they have great deals and cute stuff. If you have the time I dare you to check out blue flamingo!

After reading Anastasia B’s review on Blue Flamingo, my sister and I decided to scope this place out! We didn’t know, that they had moved, however, and when we went to their old location, we were bummed they weren’t there! BUT, my sister did a search on them and found out they moved! We were so excited since we LOVE to shop at vintage stores, antique places, and thrift shops. It just so happened that when she found out where they went, it they were also going to be celebrating their grand opening! Perfect timing! Well, we finally made it to the store. The store is a perfect size. Enough to have a separate area for thrift items and vintage finds and a separate room for fair trade items. In their thrift shop/vintage area, they sell some of the regular things you would find at any thrift shop like clothes, shoes, and knick knacks. I think the pricing is pretty good here. The kids clothes are the best deals, I think, since they are only fifty cents! They also sell some vintage clothing, for a pretty good price. I bought a cute, vintage dress for only $ 12! Blue Flamingo also sells numerous amounts of fair trade items like coffee, candies, bags, jewelry, and other little items too. If you liked Blue Flamingo at their old location and wondered where they went, they moved and you should totally check out their new location! Or, if you want to check out a thrift store you have never been to before, check out Blue Flamingo! You never know what you’re going to find!
