This was my first time here and my first time eating a loose meat sandwich. Overall, it was good. The kids meals were affordable and they came with ice cream, plus for any kid. The service was quick and efficient. It was a good meal and a good experience.

A loose meat sandwich I can get behind. I personally enjoy anything I can douse with mustard and onion and this is my perfect excuse to do so. I honestly probably could have had three sandwiches, but that’s just because I eat too much. I ordered the number 2 and had my beegee with cheese, onion, pickle and mustard. Enjoyed some fries and a nice little chocolate shake on the side. My food was prepared quickly and I really enjoyed the friendly and old school atmosphere. B&G is the perfect lunch stop if you’re feeling a loose meat sandwich. I also read that beegee sandwiches are half price from 4 – 6 during the week. That’s a cheap way to feed a family. Brat

I grew up on loose meat sandwiches and was so excited when I remembered this place was tucked away right off 84th and Dodge street. Clean, fast, and friendly! I get the #1 with no cheese and mayo. They have other options also if you are not up to par with the loose meat sandwich revolution. :)

3 words. Fun, fast, friendly! Service was great and it was inexpensive. We were so happy we decided to stop here for lunch. I can’t believe I have never been here!(Shame on me!) My husband had the #1 loose meat sandwich with fries and I had the cheese frenchee with waffle fries. He loved the seasoning on the meat. He also loved that they had fountain RC! You never see that! We loved the diner décor, old bikes on the walls, and old movies on the TV. Even in the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday there was a constant stream of people coming in to get orders to go and 3 booths were filled! I can see why! We will most certainly be back!

The food here is always quick fast and hot. They make it fresh to order and their menu is perfect. It’s totally like a cute little diner in there and their menu is amazing. From their grilled cheese to their chicken fingers fries and loose meat sandwiches there is always something on the menu that you’re sure to love. great for kids friends family whatever! Good prices for good food!

My review is mostly for the service, because the woman behind the counter when we went was incredibly rude and impatient. The food is pretty overpriced for what it is. I’ve wanted to try a loose meat sandwich ever since I watched Roseanne as a kid – it kind of sounds gross but also kind of amazing? Give me all the meat sandwiches. I had an incredible loose meat sandwich at a bar in Sioux City, IA, and they called it something different that I can’t remember because it was at the beginning of a night of drinking… but it’s what I expected to get at this place and B&G unfortunately can’t touch the sandwich I had before. Coupled with the prices and unimpressive service, I just don’t have anything good to say about this place. I guess it has atmosphere, I like the retro feel. But it’s also a strip mall joint, so… **Updated to add that what I tried in Sioux city was referred to as a «tavern,» it was from a place called Miles Inn, and you can get two of them and a schooner(a giant beer) for less than $ 10. And the sandwich is peppery and delicious and I haven’t forgotten about it even after six years**

B&G specializes in «loose meat» sandwiches similar to Maid Rite and NuWay in other Midwestern cities, one of the regional foods you need to try when you visit this part of the country. I ordered the #1 which is a regular loose meat(that sounds kind of disgusting, doesn’t it?) sandwich which is about the size of a Thanksgiving Dinner roll with approximately an ice cream scoop size helping of the loose meat. The meat tastes about what I imagine a very dry Sloppy Joe would taste like if you took all the Sloppy out of the Joe. Maybe it’s an acquired taste? The fries were OK, but they were low end fast food variety fries and nothing special. They also have chili dogs and a few other items I might try if I was forced to go back, but that’s probably not going to happen.

I’ve visited this plaza lots of times and have never noticed this place. Go inside and the decorations take you back to the early 50s and 60s. Old school bicycles on the wall and different kinds of photo posters. Pretty awesome. We sat down at the front counter kind of set up like a long bar that wraps around. The waitress behind the counter was busy accepting a payment from a customer on a apple Ipad. I’ve noticed this at a lot of restaurants Seems to work better than a regular POS system. Known for the loose meat sandwich described as a sloppy Joe but without the tomato sauce mixed into the meat. Kinda different, so I order the number 1. It includes one sandwich with fries and a soda. For .50cents more you can try soda from glass bottles with different flavors and choices. I tried the Dad’s root beer. The meat came out, kind of a small portion for a small hamburger bun. They don’t salt the fries but there is salt next to the napkins. Sandwich went down fast with the root beer and I wish I would of ordered another one because it didn’t really fill me up. They also specialize in frenchees For dessert we tried the nutella fried frenchee, came out with a small 2 Oz portion of ice cream to dip them in! Very good… they say they are the ones that invented it! Place has been around for quite some time. They also have a loosemeat lounge for larger parties. I’ll be back for a frenchee!

We had no idea what to expect but were nearby and had a hungry toddler. The environment is a cool old school 50s’ with a hipster clean wooden ipad covered Vans & skinny jean type setting. Needless to say, coming from L.A. and reading this was like In&Out, we were excited. The prices seemed reasonable and the food was sure to be TASTY. Ordered items: Kids BeeGee meal(bee gee, fries, soda & ice cream; our son ate the bee gee in a few bites because that is how seriously small this thing was, fries are frozen, solid root beer, ice cream machine ice cream. Bee gee frenchee; two slices of prepackaged wonderbread with perhaps a teaspoon of their ‘famous’ meat. Foot long hot dog with chili; if you get a pre-packaged foot long wrong I doubt you’d be in business long… The chili was pretty bland. This is NOT like In&Out(unless you consider the option of purchasing a genuine t-shirt akin to the simplicity of a double double animal style). As far as service goes, it was excellent. As far as prices go, seriously, if you consider it’s a vat of ground beef with some seasoning and a pre-packaged steamed bun… their mark-up is steep. Also, the menu makes it sound as if items are hand crafted; the description of the corn dog was down right delicious which is why I’m so glad I asked if they made them in house… nope, frozen, which I can imagine is true for most of their menu items.

Try the chicken philly, my favorite thing here. The chili fries weren’t good though, very disappointing. I hate how very hipster everyone who works here is, & I feel like it’s lost a lot of it’s charm that way. Still a great philly though, worth the visit~

Established in the the 1950s and remaining true to its roots, find loose meat sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, shakes, soft-serve ice cream and great fries here. Good for kids and a quick meal, this restaurant has many loyal customers.

B&Gs sort of reminds me of In-N-Out burger(which unfortunately doesn’t have locations in Nebraska). It’s a throwback to the 50s and 60s(décor is old-timey) and serves awesome(and cheap) burgers and loose meat sandwiches. Personally, I go with their loose meat sandwich, waffle fries and a shake. The meal never fails to hit the spot and it’s just over seven dollars, which gets you a large drink, large fry and 10 chicken McNuggets at McDonald’s(which, needless to say, is disgusting).

One of my favorite places to grab a quick bite. I love the atmosphere & enjoy the old movies they play on the tv. The old school bikes are awesome. I love the grilled cheese & the root beer floats!

Great casual place for a quick meal in an interesting place. The vibe is a fun, retro Happy Days burger joint. The food is average, but also moderately priced. The shakes are old fashioned and thick. I finally tried the famous Loose Meat sandwich. Seriously not bad. Like, I might even order it again next time instead of getting another, plain old burger. I’m still thinking about the sour of the dill pickle mixed in with the loose meat. All in all, a good little order at the counter, Omaha owned burger joint that won’t cost you an arm and a leg if you take the kids. Wish they served beer!

As a native Iowan(not iowegian as my college buddies would say), I love my loose meat sandwiches. Maid-rites are in my blood, and they are my comfort food. The Bee Gee sandwich is like a slice of home. Wonderful, impossibly granular ground beef with it’s tasty secret spices(which taste along the lines of simple salt & pepper). The beefiness of the bee gee really shines through best when you keep your toppings simple, for me I like to stick with just a slice of cheese and ketchup. The fries are a bit underdone, but since I have a soft spot for squishy fries, it was not a deal breaker for me. The butterscotch shake was creamy and tasty with a consistency on the thicker side, but was not the most flavorful. There is also a variety of old fashioned sodas(grape, green river, orange cream, classic cola…) which my husband got the neon green river to try. It was similar to sprite, with a bit more lime and a whole lot more food coloring. The restaurants sits in the spot between fast food, and dine in. No waitresses, you just order at the counter and then find a seat. Your drinks will be out very quickly, and then your food shortly after that. Needless to say, I will be back here when the comfort food fix comes a calling.

I would have to give this strip mall joint a 2.5 stars. I had the original Bee Gee with chili. The Bee Gee meat was nice and finely ground, like a loosemeat should be, but the bun was hard and stale. I prefer a nice warm steamed bun for my loosemeat. There was plenty of meat and extras on the BG but I couldn’t get past the bun. The chili was typical diner/school chili. No heat, but good flavor. I went on a Sunday so maybe the bread truck doesn’t deliver on Sundays, thus the stale bun. I thought for what I got the prices were right in line, a little high maybe. Having lived in Sioux City for a number of years and experiencing a true tastee at Tastee In & Out this does not come close. For loosemeat choices here in Omaha, it is okay.

B&G offers classic American cuisine done right in a location that’s tucked away in a central Omaha strip with an interior decked out in clean«Happy Days» charm. It’s pretty much a must-try for any Omahan. There’s a rich history to this little place that’s just as much classic throw-back sock hop as it is neighborhood favorite staffed by hip, young kids. It’s where you go when you want a strawberry shake, burger, fries and drink for under $ 10. It’s where you go when you want a couple of peanut butter and jelly frenchees and a pound of «loosemeat» to go. It’s a good place to sit back and relax anytime of year and just enjoy an old fashioned American meal with a quirky twist.

If you’re not from Omaha and you dont know anything about loose meat sandwiches, keep on driving. These are the most bland, disgusting foods out there. Lots of better options out there. The meat is nondescript, the buns are white and pasty. If you dont like spicy, tasty food, maybe this IS the place for you
