This is more than your«I neeeeeeed chocolate!» shop. Conveniently located in the village in Olympic Valley, Dorindas handcrafted chocolates et al will knock your socks off. From mouth watering truffles to heavenly peanut butter whatyoumaycallit keeps me coming back time and time again. It’s now part of my snowboarding ritual, board hard and eat chocolate harder. Trust me, pick up some tasty treats from Dorindas and you will not be disappointed.

I loved this little chocolate shop in The Village at Squaw Valley. Earlier in the day I tried two chocolate shops in Truckee that were major fails. Dorinda’s restored my faith in the sweet selection for the area. Not only did we enjoy the chocolates, but the service was great. The gentlemen working was greeting every person that entered the shop and clearly had pride in the product. My husband declared his pick from here one of if not the best chocolates he’s ever had. He had the chocolate covered s’more item that had a raspberry surprise in the middle. He thought the raspberry really made this the best. I tried four pieces including the chocolate covered cherry, milk chocolate toffee, dark chocolate sea salt caramel, and hazelnut chocolate. I loved the sea salt caramel and toffee chocolates. They were amazing. We’ll be back the next time we’re in the area!

I didn’t want to try these because I was afraid they would be irresistibly good. I finally gave in and the chocolate is just that. I especially loved the dark chocolate hazelnut truffles which had crispy bits of hazelnut in them. I’m picky with my dark chocolate because often it lacks flavor and can be waxy– not here. I’ll be back, probably too often :-)

Well we tried the little coffee shop in the tram building. Such friendly service and truly good coffee. Try it!

This small chocolate shop just opened in the village, and it’s a great addition! I’m a huge fan of the dark chocolate pretzels with salt. I also really like the peppermint bark. This shop is located in a corridor that heads to the parking lot so it’s always an easy place for a pit stop.
