Expensive but the best. This coffee is a 10⁄10 on our scale. Always a treat when driving through the area. Note: They used to offer soy milk, but now you can only get almond. The barista will tell you this in the sassiest manner, chin held high.

The most vile latte I have ever had the displeasure of tasting. The smell of it makes you want to kill yourself. If you find yourself walking into this little broom closet of a business, ask the hobbit behind the counter for a latte and prepare yourself for a loathsome, heinous, nauseating cup of the worst five dollars you ever wasted. Also it was full of coffee grounds. I would go back and ask for a refund, but I don’t want to smell the place again.

I grew up in Portland and even with that I was not the biggest coffee fan until I moved to Oly a few years ago. This place is goooooood. The coffee, regardless of roast or region is expertly roasted and brewed; none of this bitter burnt stuff that a lot of major chains churn out. I’ve been to all 3 locations and every time the service was personable and quick, the coffee fantastic, and the atmosphere hip. I’m moving in a few weeks and this will definitely be in my top 3 things I’ll miss about Oly. Also, the pastries they serve are RIDICULOUSLYGOOD. Try the cheese croissant. Just do it.

Coffee is superb and staff are friendly. Plus, they are in several locations that are easy and convenient to get to.

This place has got the dang good coffee. In fact, I could say this coffee stand changed my life. Coffee was different stuff before I started drinking OCR coffee from this stand. I worked at *$s years ago and I drank pound after pound of the bitter burnt stuff thinking it was perfectly fine, believing that a coffee any more premium was not coffee for me: curious about the premium, I thought you couldn’t really get any better than some gnar Caffe D’Arte espresso you get in some Seattle place. Maybe some of that crazy coffee that already passed through a civet, but that was for a man on vacation who, in normal life, gets weekly haircuts and does things that affects the world. Not I. (To clarify: a civet is a mammal, not a mechanical device.) OCR coffee is the first coffee where I could taste notes of fruit, for example, instead of just pretending to taste notes and wondering why I could not sense what everyone was able to perceive. For my first year with OCR I would basically guzzle their old La Mirella batch by the 12oz out of a large glass mug.(I once read a study saying that consumers of coffee perceived coffee served in a clear glass as being subjectively«weaker» than coffee from a plain white ceramic mug. That was not the case with La Mirella.) The brew is smooth and delicious, and I would often drink it black, when I usually would take coffee with milk. Who knew that black coffee was something that could be so delicious? I certainly did not. Their drip coffee is something everybody good deserves to drink daily. The espresso is spectacular. There is nothing like an 8oz americano to set a day from fine to excellent. I encourage you to come here, be humble, be kind, and tip well: the baristas are good people, hopefully good just like you are, and the coffee is very, very good.

Please get hemp milk! Otherwise, great coffee and love the rustic little hut they operate out of in west Olympia.

The worst $ 4 short mocha I’ve ever had in 40 years of drinking coffee. Maybe 20% foam, and It tasted like it was made with dark biter Mexican chocolate. As far as I’m concerned it’s «flavor first» and I could really care less about any cutsie heart shaped«foam art» if it tastes like crap. The least of their problems seems to be that the store is laid out backwards because the pick up area is right in front of the door and the cash register is farthest away so customers are tripping over each other to order, pay, and pickup.

Classy and refined. Suburb coffee and service challenging European rivals. Chris is a real host, knowledgable and stylish, like the establishment itself. Love it!

OCR has the sweetest baristas, the most tasty drip coffee, and the most low key setting! I dropped in for a cup of coffee and even though I accidentally went the wrong way, I got off the freeway and turned around so I wouldn’t miss this shit. The service was quick! I was in and out with no worries at all. My servers, two sweet ladies my mother is friends with, were friendly and welcoming. Often in Oly, your barista will be an uptight hipster bitch that is clearly too cool to be serving your coffee. Not here! They were so lovely, and we joked about the depressing Starbucks experience I had earlier that week. «That must be why they’re so sad!» My coffee though… My coffee was amazing. It was smooth, and tasted handcrafted and with love. I just drink black drip coffee, but it tasted the way ALL coffee should taste. I bought a pound of beans to take home with me to LA, and I’m pretty excited to tear into them. Yum-tastic! Much gratitude and respect to this lovely coffee shack on the West Side!

My husband and I were visiting family in Olympia and came across this cute coffee shop. As soon as we entered we were greeted by a nice young man. He spent a lot of time with us giving detailed information about our coffee choices. My husband ordered a brewed coffee and I ordered a latte. Both were excellent and my latte art was adorable. We enjoyed it so much we returned every morning for the week we were there! Excellent service and delicious coffee! We wish we had a place like it at home!

I will be the first one to say I am not an expert on coffee and I am not a three latte a day guy. I will also be the first one to say that I know what I like when I see it, taste it or hear it and I like this place. I went so far as to get a cup of coffee sat down and enjoyed it, got in my car and left then, came back 15 min later for a second cup. I would normally never do that and am still surprised that I did. They are super nice, a relaxing area and the coffee is everything that you could hope for. I am an old guy and retired out of the army so I have had some bad coffee and every once in a while(a great while) I will have someone grab me some Starbucks if they are going but nothing compares to the time, effort and care these folks put into their product. Good job!

I would say the friendliness and ambiance is better in my opinion than the taste of the coffee. But its just a taste preference on my part and I have only tried the espresso and a latte. I have only been here a few times and each time was during the crack of daybreak and the sunrise, latte art, the easiness of conversation and crisp smell of fall reminds me that I am lucky to live in Olympia.

I went here because I heard such good things about it and when I finally went I was very unimpressed. The coffee wasn’t bad but the real turn off was the employees. I was trying to figure out what to order and see what was good and the people behind the counter were carrying on their own conversation about what they were doing that night and taking about their relationships, totally ignoring myself, the customer. Not even a «Hi». I had to interrupt there discussion to order. That’s a real turn off to me. Customer service is very important for me. At Starbucks they are 100x more friendly and customer service oriented, so much so I ignore the dull coffee and go there. I know one thing for sure, I will not go again. Plenty of other coffee stands in town that are wonderful places.

I really like this local coffee establishment. They roast and serve some coffees that you wouldn’t normally find at other coffee places in town. They take their coffee very seriously. This particular Olympia Coffee Roasting Co. is quite a bit smaller than the one in Tumwater. I like the Tumwater location a bit better because they grind your choice and brew it right in front of you. That’s fresh! Still this is a very good place to get a great cup of coffee and a conversation. I’m sure I will return.

Honestly this is the worst coffee I have had. I have tried it on two occasions now, first at the actual store and now a restaurant. It is the most bitter coffee I have had and leaves a terrible aftertaste in my mouth. Maybe I am missing something, I thought By visiting this area I would have some great coffee but am totally disappointed so far.

This place makes Starbucks taste like Maxwell House! It’s local, small, conscientious(about coffee first!) and the best latte in Oly.(yeah, ive been to B&B). They are«Direct Trade» which is a notch beyond«Free Trade.» The owners actually know the coffee growers, including the workers. Of course wifi is here. Just ask for PW. Remember what a real latte tastes like? Every cup has 2 shots, of course. Get your java on!

I guess I’m not understanding the accolades. I went there for the first time last weekend and had a latte. You could barely tasted the coffee — it was lost in the milk. Maybe I’ll give it another shot and try an espresso(pun intended). Frankly, I prefer Method Coffee Bar or Batdorf.
