I REALLY like burritos. They REALLY like Jesus. Don Eduardo’s might be one of the least remarkable restaurants in town. I say this mostly because of the location: hidden in the middle of a complex and very hard to spot from the road. I learning it existed through Unilocal after unknowingly driving by it for 5 years and I finally stopped in for a late lunch. I picked up a burrito for about $ 6. It was standard in most respects with nothing fantastic, yet no downside to it. I was fond of their decision to leave me with a whole bottle of their hot sauce. They were probably less fond of the fact that I used half of it. The downside of the place is the ambiance. I have no problem with a little bit of religion in a restaurant, some sacred artwork, etc. What Don Eduardo’s does is a lot closer to proselytizing by proxy. Notes about their church, ads for their church, scripture quoted on the walls and on the menu, pictures of JC all over the place, and probably more that I can’t specifically recall. It was enough to make me almost uncomfortable and the quality of the food doesn’t quite justify it enough to make me want to go back.

Don Eduardo’s is MUIDIMINUTO but the chicken quesedillas I’ve had there were MUIBIEN. There were lots of other latin american dishes there too. Like a certain other Teriyaki restaurant on the Westside(I’m not naming names so you don’t know what I’m talking about) its very quiet(at least both times I went there for lunch). So bring a book to read or something if you go by yourself. If you see the sign that says«Thai Massage» you’ve gone too far…

I have driven by this restaurant frequently… always thinking in the back of my mind that I should stop sometime… I was hoping that Authentic meant that I was going to be in for a memorable gastro experience… a place that I could go to then return to work and rave about my precious find in latin cuisine. I will have to say… I am disappointed. I ordered the«special of the day» which was 1 corn tortilla, filled with either chicken or cheese, covered in sauce and accompanied by rice and beans. I only have myself to blame here… and I realize that… because I was thinking«for $ 5.99 this should be one mondo sized chicken filled tortilla.» Boy, was I wrong. When the plate was brought out, I must say that I was VERY surprised because this was 1 very small tortilla with a very modest portion of rice and beans. Now, if I had gone up the street to the Taco Time or Taco Bell and received this… for about $ 3 then I wouldn’t be surprised. Here it was a disappointment. The service was fine… quick and courteous… I can not fault that. Tortilla Special, ice tea and tax…$ 9.28… I won’t be back nor will I be raving… at least not in a positive way… about this find.

Friendly owner who is willing to make anything you like, and who dotes delightfully. Very, very good horchata. Basiclally pan-Latin cuisine with a growing Caribbean influence. The food is sometimes a little boring, but consistent and consistently well-prepared. The best Latin American food in Olympia, save for perhaps the greasy delights of El Pulgarcito II.

Never would have found this place on my own — totally a hole in the wall in a random building. A selection of traditional Mexican(and Americanized too, for those who want Mexican Pizza, etc.) food, as well as a few intriguing selections from Nicaragua, El Salvador, and other Latin American countries. Quite tasty, good down-home food and home-made hot sauce, etc. Definitely will go again, as this mom/pop joint is much better than some of the other chain ‘mexican’ places in the area. And now I know where to get my fried plantain fix! Reasonably sized portions, decent prices, and the chance to sample some unique food make this restaurant a worthy stop. However, the menu is not that extensive, the dining area is rather small, and I believe that they don’t serve alcohol. So heads up. ETA: And they might not have the most fastidious practices, as someone in the group I was with found a hair in their dish. The food was still very tasty, no one else stopped eating, heh. And no one else has had any issues, upon going back since. Possibly a rare event, but worth considering when making a choice to eat out.
