The food is excellent. Service very good. Enjoyed a beautiful evening sitting outside on the patio.

Decent place but I’m never going here again because of the loud ass drunk regulars at the bar.

Not sure what the haters are complaining about. I had a delicious plate of Eggs Benedict, a complimentary selection of fresh fruit as an appetizer, hot coffee, a super friendly waitress for $ 16. There are literally no breakfast options in the suburbs and this place is killing it as far as I’m concerned. The prices are on par with what you pay when you have to trek to bethesda or DC for an equally tasty meal. But now you can just head to a neighborhood spot instead of shlepping downtown and not pay or fight for parking. Will definitely be back.

An average breakfast for an above-average price. Closer in quality to a diner than anything, the Olney Tavern was fairly busy when we swung by for breakfast. We’d been before, for lunch or dinner, a few years ago, and had a pretty good experience then. Nothing wrong with what we got. I ordered a steak(rare) and eggs and got that(medium), along with some half-decent coffee. I had ordered what I did because it wasn’t much more than any other type of breakfast they had on the menu, so I figured it was the best value, and it was perfectly fine. The hash browns were the cubed, non-crunchy, homemade type. The eggs were cooked as I requested them. Nobody at the table had any compliments or complaints regarding the food. The bill came in with a premium of maybe 30% on top of what it should’ve been, but it’s Olney, so that’s expected to a degree. I can’t recommend the place, exactly, but you shouldn’t be scared of it in any way, either. It’s a perfectly solid choice, it’s just we didn’t get anything that stood out in any way except the bill.

Great food and love going to see Jeff Burnett play guitar on the Friday nights when they are lucky enough to book him. We never miss it!

Tried this place for breakfast. The food was mediocre, but the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress walked by my husband’s empty coffee cup no less than four times before he had to ask her for a refill. I had ordered a kids omelette for our two year old, but I asked for it without ham. Our waitress asked what kind of cheese we wanted, which I thought was odd because it came with cheddar(what I picked). The omelette arrived, and our waitress said, «I hope she likes ham.» No, that’s why I ordered it without. I had to pick the ham out. When our check arrived, she did give us a discount on the omelette because she messed up the order; however, there was an up-charge for the cheddar … the cheese that was listed on the menu. At that point, we didn’t contest it because we just wanted to leave. While we’ve wanted to try their burgers, I’m going to have a hard time going back for fear of the same lackluster service.

This place is amazing! The food is always great, it’s quiet, and I’ve never had a problem with the service! I’m glad we strolled in here

This is not a bad place. However, I didn’t really find anything that stood out here. It felt like a basic restaurant with okay food. Unfortunately, there’s not much that would bring me back here.

Yuck! A greasy pile of slop & couldn’t make a decent Bloody Mary to save their lives. Over priced and overrated.

The Olney Tavern is the Cheers of Olney. Always feel welcomed. Service is great and food quality is very good. Never have to worry about someone’s bratty kids screaming at the next table(Grille Marx). Fun, lovely place to enjoy good food.

The Tavern was a pleasant surprise. My husband and I were looking for a place to have a casual american breakfast. We walked in and were greeted & seated immediately by Marlen. My husband ordered the corned beef hash with a side of pancakes and I ordered the eggs benedict. Both of our meals came out hot and fast. We both enjoyed our meals and coffee. Our server Marlen was very attentive but not intrusive. We felt the prices were fair, the restaurant was casual, clean and comfortable. There’s plenty of parking(in the rear) and the food hit the spot. We will definitely be back!

Meh. It was OK, but I don’t plan on going back unless it’s just for drinks. The actual bar area is pretty small though, so honestly I probably won’t really do that either. I went in for brunch and had a Bloody Mary and their Chesapeake Eggs Benedict. The drink was priced alright and well made. I also asked for a Coke and was brought a Pepsi(no, that’s not the same thing). The entrée would have been good I think, but the poached eggs came out basically hard boiled. Very disappointing for a $ 17 dish. The service was friendly enough, but not very attentive. It didn’t seem very busy for the number of servers that were around, but maybe looks were deceiving. Overall, I have much better options in the area for that price.

My eggs benedict and French toast was so so good! This was my first time here and I will definitely be coming back for more. The food is really good, service is on point, food was brought out in a good amount of time and the prices are decent. Parking was a little limited but it is possible more parking was available and I just don’t know about it because this place was pretty full but I didn’t see that may cars where i parked. Finally a place near home that serves good eggs benedict, This is defiantly my new brunch spot!!!

Been coming to The Tavern for the past few years! My usual would be half price bottle of wine. Love all the new burgers, while my favor stands with Californian burger. Love the wings and fries, enjoyed the wknd brunch with football/baseball/hockey games! Great hang out spot for sports with happy hour drinks! I must admit that I’m a REGULAR now!!!

First thing that needs to be said about The Tavern is that it, by no stretch of the imagination, look or feel like a Tavern. So if you are looking for a cozy place to sit by the fire and have a pint you probably want to look elsewhere. If you get past that you will want to know that the food is pretty solid at the Tavern. Our party had a burger, a salad(buffalo chicken); and a pasta special(sausage penne). I would give the food, given the price, 4-stars. Also worthy of note is that happy hour is all day on Sunday and after 3pm on other days – which means roughly 5 $ pints. There are six TVs in the bar area so not a bad place to watch the game. For over all experience I would go with the Olney Ale House but if I just needed a good place for lunch or a drink The Tavern is a solid choice.

I usually order food to go, everyone in My office orders from there. So I decided to go in and sit down to eat… Never again. I had the rudest waitress. The portions were small. The waitress was so loud and rude when we asked a question about the menu, she didn’t listen to our direct question almost like she didn’t care. When asked if breakfast was still neing served she said no, then turned around and took a breakfast order from the table next to me. We mentioned to her she got our order wrong and we pointed to exactly what we order, with a shrug of the shoulders and roll of the eyes she said oh well. If you go here avoid Marlene. For the most part the food is really good and usually the staff is great.

The Olney Tavern is in a little nook to the right of the 7-Eleven. The bar isn’t overly big but does the job and the service is great. The food is really good and they have specials all the time.

If you don’t know already, breakfast options in Olney are pretty limited. I think we’ve tried all of them and still haven’t come across any options that we’re willing to try again. I think we will try The Tavern again though. Parking is a bear. I think there was some ballet recital or class nearby so it was tight getting in and out. The restaurant is very cozy, nice atmosphere. Our server was very nice. The coffee was very good(enought to comment on). I ordered the lox omelette, H ordered the Eggs Benedict. The omelette was WAY too salty. I choked it down, would not order again. The benedict was very good, flavor and preparation were perfect. I tried not to eat too much off his plate. Little H had a pancake. She wasn’t a fan(but she’s only 2 so, whatever that means). I tasted it, it was very light, a little too spongy. I’d come here again, but I’d order differently, paying more attention to prices. The prices of our meals weren’t bad(about $ 10 each). The side of bacon, however, was $ 4 and the single pancake for my kid was almost $ 3. Small kids orange juice was $ 3 and our two coffees were almost $ 5. While we should have paid more attention, I just wasn’t expecting it, especially when the entrees had great prices. Ah well, A-OK. I will update when we get a chance to back for dinner fare.

My Dad and I always to to the Tavern after we see a play at the Olney Theater. Food is always great. If they have the pot roast special make sure you don’t pass it up. My Dad always gets the rueben with fries. I steal some of the fries because they are delish and they don’t have calories if you don’t order them, right? ;) Pasta and burgers are great. The meal starts off with complimentary freshly baked bread and butter. The owner is very friendly. Wait staff can be a bit slow, which is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars. They have a patio for dining outside in warmer months. I’m not sure where the people who gave negative reviews were, but it couldn’t be the Tavern. One says they were there at 9 and the restaurant doesn’t open until 11am.
