This is my favorite Safeway. Beer, wine, huge cheese selection and an amazing pharmacy staff. I used to live in Damascus and the Safeway there pales in comparison. I started using the pharmacy here for the gas points but I’m staying for the quality service.

Now, I usually don’t go here but I wanted everyone to know that they actually sell wine and beer here, so you don’t have to go to the alcoholics hangout/sleezy liquor store elsewhere! That’s right! Oh, and a bottle of Apothic Red is $ 10 and change here whereas it was 2 – 3 over that close to me in the Crown Area.

Wonderful selection of well-priced wine and cheeses! Love the touch of occasional wine tastings. The deli makes great salads and party trays. The little lady who replenishes the salad bar is a real sweetheart. Great ambiance for a Safeway!

I’m in a self-check line over 10 people long and they don’t have the express line open. Regular lines are too long to use. I’ll not return here – waste if time. Harris Teeter is much better!

Chase said it best: «The best Safeway I’ve ever been to in my lifetime». That’s literally what I thought when I pulled up. First thing I saw was the underground parking garage! So crazy! Half the malls I’ve been to don’t even have that accommodation, let alone a grocery store. This is the first Safeway I’ve seen with a «café»(for lack of a better term). You can order prepared food. Breakfasts, sandwiches, fries, etc. Salad bar, olive bar, and so much more. Beer & wine! And for great prices! The produce section was the largest produce section I’ve ever seen. It was bigger than my entire grocery store I think. I was here for like 2 minutes to grab something late at night, but still, I was super impressed.

The best Safeway I’ve ever been to in my lifetime. I’ve been going to Giant across the street for groceries since they were doing some major upgrades to the building, but WOW. Amazing job refreshing the store environment ! the place looks gorgeous from the outside and inside, and especially they separated a huge section of beer & wine right on the side not to mention a huge parking lot behind the building in case of snow or crazy windy days. It was useful for me to get my groceries to the trunk without how-many-miles-per-hour wind blowing at my face. Def. 5 stars. !

I would normally NEVER even think about writing a review for a Grocery Store, but with that said I am bored and was so underwhelmed I figured why not. Sooo here goes… If you are at all familiar with the phenomena that surrounds new business’ that open in the Olney area you are probably aware that there was a lot of hype around this Safeway opening, probably fueled by the fact that it took forever to finally open. So I decided to stop in at lunch yesterday to do some light shopping. I was sooo under impressed. It looks huge from the parking lot but doesn’t seem that big on the inside. Yes, it is clean. But I walked in and noticed two things: 1. It’s dark in here and 2. This looks a LOT like the old safeway… which is strange considering they had ripped the old one to the ground. The deli selection was horrible, there is a sushi station full of horrible looking grocery store sushi mostly cooked options. Which I didn’t try so I can’t comment on. The only thing that this Safeway has going for it is that it is the only grocery store in the area selling beer and wine. Otherwise… with so many options around I would stick to one of those instead.
