It really pains me to write a less than stellar review, but I’m still so disappointed with my recent experience that I feel compelled to write something in hopes the chef will take it as feedback intended to improve her business. When my husband and I pay $ 185 for a paired wine and food experience, our expectations are high. If you feel you can demand that amount, then you obviously feel your food will leave an impression on customers, and kudos for the confidence! Portion size, flavor profiles, presentation… it’s all part of the package. We can spend our money anywhere, but we chose your event… sadly I doubt we will ever make that decision again. What I feel $ 185 should buy a customer: For starters… a cloth napkin. Exciting flavor combos with wine pairings that have obviously been strategically selected to complement one another. Food that is actually hot. What should not be occurring during a $ 185 event: PAPER napkins with designs on them. PLASTIC plates. Mediocre portions. I still cannot believe that I was served string cheese at this event as part of a «caesar salad»… String cheese… at a pairing that cost $ 185… I’m not sure what’s more upsetting, that it was string cheese or that there was mozzarella in a caesar salad. Your lamb meatballs had some interesting flavors going on, and your asparagus was cooked well, but what we experienced was not at all what we were expecting.

Chef Barb does mostly individual and family meals but she did a fabulous job with my military retirement ceremony with over 100 guests! She worked with me to create a menu that satisfied a wide range of tastes and the guests were talking about the food days later! I highly recommend Gourmet Your Way for 1 or 100; you won’t be disappointed!
