This is easily my favorite restaurant in the shoreline area. I come usually once a month and I’ve never had bad service or bad food. The food is amazing right on down from the appetizers to the dinners. The salads and their salad dressings are out of this world, the chicken parm and the Alfredo is to die for. Another added bonus is that they play some awesome country music for the sound in there.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. Any pizza, sandwich, or soup is wonderful. The food is delicious and the staff is so friendly. The atmosphere is casual and the prices are reasonable.

Pizza was excellent. Greek style and it was light and flaky with great sauce. Chicken sandwich special was delightful. It was a breastfed crispy chicken with some slices of salami and provolone cheese on a toasted roll. Yummy. The service was great. Very friendly and accommodating. We asked for bread and they even toasted it for us. Would definitely revisit.

Came here on Saturday evening, 12÷12÷15, after the Old Saybrook Torchlight parade. Came based upon other reviews here and also proximity to where we were. This place is the real deal. Immediately felt at home after being greeted by the owners. Seated in the take-out section because tables were full and there was zero issue with the location of our table. Fried mozz — a winner. Sauce was amazing. Salads — delicious. Bread served warm and with herbed oil for dipping. Chicken gorgonzola pasta special was awesome. Lasagna was equally impressive. Split a dessert and could barely finish it.(Both myself and my companion took at least half our meals home with us.) The true highlight though, besides the amazing food, was the incredible service. They literally could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Don’t live in this area, but can recommend HANDSDOWN and without reservation that anyone near Old Saybrook try this awesome, family-owned restaurant. A winner all around.

I have loved going to TJs for pizza in the past… But you won’t split sauces on the base of your pizzas… Because they might bleed a bit into one another??? Thank you captain obvious … But it’s still the way I wanted it. I’d even pay more for the pesto… Taking my business elsewhere for tonight. UPDATE… Made one additional phone call to Fiores… Ordered a large cheese ½ pesto ½ red sauce no problem along with a few sides. Thank you Fiores!!!

Just had the chicken pita for lunch and it is very good! A warm grilled pita with tzatiki sauce, lettuce, tomato and yummy grilled chicken on top. Comes with hot French fries and it’s delicious. I’ve had the Greek salad before and it was excellent too. Give TJ’s a try and you will enjoy.

What more can I say? This is hands down the best buffalo chicken wrap I have ever had. We’ve been coming here for years. Nick, John, and his family are welcoming. You cannot go wrong coming here. It’s comfortable. A little tip, stop in around 4. You will beat the crowd. Their service is fantastic. You will not leave hungry.

My husband and I went here because of Unilocal and trip advisor … I am so glad we did from the staff to the food every thing was great … quick friendly staff… our food was delicious and hot… my only complaint and I could not take a star away for it was the annoying country music playing… I really don’t like it and was a bit annoyed with having to listen to it for dinner. lol next time we are in Old Saybrook we will deff come to eat here again… just with headphones.:)

Our waitresses name was Tina and she was super duper nice, she gave my daughter a bowl of soup to sample and didn’t charge us. My other daughter is a picky eater. The chef, Johnny was really nice and made a custom pizza«with love». He came out to ask us if it was ok for him to put olive oil on the pizza to keep it moist and he was kept checking in on us even though the restaurant was busy. At the end he gave the girls lollipops and«hand hugs»! It was a great experice. Written by Lily(picky daughter) for her father.

A fine gem of a family restaurant. Clean and well appointed with a well rounded mix of choices on the menu and delicious fresh specials. Prompt and friendly service. We were a party of seven on a Tuesday night and there was a mix of summer people and locals filling up the place. We enjoyed excellent starters including stuffed mushrooms, garlic bread with cheese, and fried mozzarella. The salmon was moist with flavorful, the rice pilaf as if from scratch. The chicken parm was an enormous portion and super tender. The marinara sauce robust. The pizza was ok /crust was a bit bready, but we’re thin crust fans. Overall truly great, hidden in plain sight gem!

Steak is excellent. Much better than you’d ever expect from a small family restaurant, and very accommodative if you’re eating low carb. Friendly ownership. Bravo.

We love TJ’s! Their Shrimp Scampi pizza is so good! Very generous with the shrimp, and the white pizza is super flavorful. Their stuffed mushrooms are also very good. We have never had a bad meal from TJ’s. Very friendly service as well. The owner is always friendly and great with our boys!

Looking for a restaurant on the weekend on the shoreline that is reasonable in price and the food is good and you usually can get seated quickly, try TJ’s. It was Saturday and usually if you going out on Saturday, prepare to wait for a long time at most popular restaurants. But we found TJ’s and each time, we got a table right away. You would think maybe the food wasn’t good or the service would not be good and would be slow and/or the cost would be high. But that is not the case, Food was good, price is reasonable and the service is very good. Three at our table ordered Chicken Parmigiana. Price was $ 15.95. They enjoyed their meals. portions very large. Prepare to take food home. Meals come with soup or salad., Try their Onion soup. It is good. Ask your server to add another slice of cheese to the soup. Wide variety of selections on the menu plus daily specials. You can order a burger, pizza or a steak entrée Service was fast and friendly. This restaurant serves rolls. Restaurant is casual and family run. I gave TJ’s Four stars. I rarely give Five Stars. My Four Star rating is others Five star rating. TRAVELKAL

Nice job by a local business in a sector of the restaurant industry often inundated by underachievers and outright impostors. TJ’s is a very solid Italian pizza and sandwich place indeed, even in vaunted Old Saybrook. The star of the show was unquestionably the eggplant fries. Strips of eggplant, battered and lightly fried, served with marinara. A nice starter, or perhaps a meal in and of itself if you REALLY like eggplant. My meatball parm was also solidly done. They intelligently sliced the meatballs before putting them on the sandwich, thereby preventing the all too familiar scenario where meatballs«poop» out of the other end of your sandwich once you take a bite. (Sorry, but is there a better term that exists to describe that phenomenon? My apologies if you’ll never look at a meatball parm the same way again.) My colleague had a salad with breaded chicken, which was pretty nice. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air. Only drawback seemed to be the inside, which didn’t impress from an ambiance standpoint. At least the food is good, quick, and cheap. Kind and helpful waitress as well.
