BESTCAKEEVER! Got my daughter’s birthday cake here recently. She loves vanilla and I think it’s plain, but if we’re going to have a vanilla cake, it should be a well made vanilla cake. So, I get it from this Bakery instead of the grocery store bakery. Soooo glad I did. Not only was it superb vanilla cake, and it was, but it was superb cake. Turns out I love vanilla cake when it’s made well. When we picked up the cake, we also got a couple other smaller treats because there were impossible to resist and again, AMAZING!!!

I come here for all my pastry needs. We recently got a birthday cake with some cupcakes from here and they were as good as always! Creative and inventive with lots of options and always beautifully executed! More expensive then stop&Shop but a true, local pastry shop that cares about their product.

I go in almost every day to get macaroons and when I do, they sometimes have an order and they will gives the extras to me. The other day I got some right out of the oven and piped right in front of me! They are so amazing! I love the décor, boxes, friendly ness, and how they give recognition to authors from the shoreline! I recommend also the baked doughnuts which are amazing! They also have a lot of other things to choose from, like soufflés to truffles to just plain old cookies. They have a variety of things to choose from I highly reccomend!!!

Ordered 24 cupcakes. It was $ 60.00 for dry, hard, cake topped with lard tasting, crisco-esque frosting. For a true hometown bakery, im lost as to how it has 4 stars

Although a Post Rd address I suggest you use Elm St to find it… and you’ll be glad you did! Delicious baking smells greet you and your pallette won’t be disappointed. The perfect spot for a special occasion ca ke, de-lish breakfast items and crispy breads… I think you might want to stay and enjoy a coffee and treat yourself to something special before you head back to home, company or the beach!

Was excited to come here because it was the only place nearby that sold macarons! When I came, there were only 2 flavors left. I bought the rest of the vanilla ones. They were priced very fair but I guess you get what you pay for. It was way too chewy and just not what macaron is supposed to be. I think maybe they were an old batch and a bit stale? That said, I will come back another time to see if there are more flavors and if they’re better!

I bought the French Macaroons as a gift, and we had to get some for ourselves. The pistachio macaroons are unbelievable! Please keep them around! Macaroon Maniac

I have been disappointed with nearby bakeries until I started frequenting Pursuit of Pastry. They made a flourless chocolate torte for my son’s birthday which we drove up to Boston last weekend. It was yummy and nicely decorated. For Thanksgiving, they made a Frangipan pear tart and a pumpkin pie for traditionalists in our family. The pear tart had a layer of raspberry jam and was unbelievably delicious. We selected the wrong kind of rolls but this was not their fault. Basically, we are Francophiles; we should have selected crusty french bread/rolls instead. The prices are reasonable and the baker is delightful.

Friendly atmosphere, décor, and staff. Have had nearly everything here and am almost always blown away. Definitely a sucker for their breakfast pastries and their cookies. If you need a cake, cupcake, scone, danish, croissant, chocolate dipped strawberry, brownie, blondie, shortbread bar, or éclair… the Pursuit of Pastry is your place.

I had purchased some items several months ago and enjoyed them. For some reason we forgot about this little Gem. We are not regular Bakery buyers because I enjoy baking from scratch. Well today my Daughter and I wanted some pastries. We found ourselves Unilocaling for a Bakery. The reviews posted previously have not been my experience. I decided to give them a chance because I remembered the brownies were good; but I was apprehensive of the quality of the treats that we just purchased. After eating three of the treats when I intended to eat only one, I can say they were all yummy! The items were on the cold side but they did come from a refrigerated display case. Everything was fresh and tasty. The staff was courteous and quick to help. Prices were reasonable. We will be back.

I saw this pastry shop yesterday and immediately stopped in. I was in the search for a little treat. the owner was very nice and suggested the french macaroon. She stated that she knew they were the rage in NY, which they are… and that they are hard to make. I tried one and it was terrible… cold(from the ref??) and with a hard buttercreme in the middle. An authentic Macaroon is a two layer thin cookie, with a hint of a filling. also thin. The shoreline has not mastered this cookie yet. The rest of the pastry case had the appearance of old products. It is not very busy and perhaps they are preparing and chilling product until needed. It is not worth the money… poor products. sorry!

I have had a great experience at this pastry shop! They have a fantastic variety of goodies ranging from breads, breakfasts and desserts. I have been searching for a place close to home that serves french macarons and, to my delight, they make them almost every day. The staff is fantastic and the owner, Jill, is a delight! They always greet you when you walk in the door and give you their full attention. I love that they have an open kitchen, it makes the place seem so CLEAN and and its fun watching the staff and owner bake and decorate their goodies! I can honestly say I am very happy to be a regular customer at this cute little shop.

Quaint little shop. Horrible execution. Saw this place while making a trip to guppies to puppies next door, decided to stop in and have a sample. There is a dessert case to the right of the counter. My wife & I decided to split a hummingbird cupcake, my oldest got a cheesecake piece, and my youngest a chocolate cupcake. The chocolate cupcake was devoured before I could even get a taste, she said it was good, but given the taste of the other baked goods, i beg to differ. The cheesecake crust was far too thick, almost an ¾ of an inch, it was hard & brittle, i was having a hard time cutting through it with the side of my fork. The cheesecake filling was undercooked and runny in the middle, it was just a sloppy mess. The cheesecake itself had an off flavor, i really couldn’t put my finger on it. Most of it went in the trash. The hummingbird cupcake was a total failure. The case had it’s refrigeration up way too high, so any flavors were pretty much killed. The was supposed to have sweet potato but i couldn’t taste it. Could have been carrot cake, could have been spice cake, could have been banana bread, just tasted cinnamon. I’m not sure what the frosting was supposed to taste like, because I could only taste butter. The entire cupcake was dry, old, when we cut into it, the frosting cracked and crumbled… sad.
