It’s a Fairfield county gem for the last 2 decades, and I feel bad for any city that’s doesn’t have one.
The high school special with fries and seasoning and the cones are absolute must haves. The wraps and sandwiches are really good too, but the seasoned chicken and cones are unique.

I’ve been going to garden catering since middle school and it has consistently been three things: friendly, fast, and delicious.
Garden catering consistently helps out with town sport team dinners and really anything they can, and they make sure they support the community around them.
I’ve had all sorts of food ranging from their bacon egg and cheeses and home run special to their baked ziti and eggplant Parmesan throughout the years and have never been disappointed even once.
I would love to recommend something in particular, but if they hand it to you it’s going to be delicious so just get on board and grab some nuggets!

This place is legendary with so many after-​school memories. If you’ve never been, you MUST get the high school special with either fries or cones. Its the best fried chicken and potatoes north of the Mason-​Dixon Line.

Hands down one of the tastiest chicken and fries spots in Fairfield County. People also get other great sandwiches off the menu but you can’t go wrong with one of their chicken specials, I’ve been eating them since High School.

I call it OGGC… definitely the best of the Garden Catering’s and unlike Chicken Joe’s they don’t give you less meat and overcook everything and threaten to kill you if you like sauce.

What is a High School Special and where did it originate?
What are cones? Why are they so awesome?
What is a Hotsy?
The answers to these questions are at Garden Catering. Fresh chicken nuggets, cut from chicken breast, not formed, not created in a factory, etc. Great seasoning and flavor and above all freshness. First visit, you want to focus on the «special» with is ½lb of nuggets, fries (or potato cones, or some other fried accompaniment) and a can of soda. Probably enough for two lunches. The breakfast sandwiches are phenomenal too. The hotsy which is a breakfast sandwich with potatoes on it, and chili is amazing. They have a few locations and it’s probably the best fast takeout around.

Now living out of town, I HAVE to go here any time I come home. Can this be franchised everywhere? Love nuggets with the honey mustard sauce and the cones. I take any visitors I have here to try this. My boyfriend thrives on Hotsy’s when he comes to town.
Also, since Unilocal asked below about reservations, alcohol, etc, know that this is not really a restaurant and there is no seating inside… just usually a line out the door for breakfast and lunch!

Um, pretty sure Garden Catering is going to cater my wedding.
There will be little portions of nuggets and cones on trays for hors d’oeuvres, and you will have to RSVP with the options of Nugget Wrap, Garden Wrap, or the Special with cones.
This explains my extreme love of Garden Catering, and I don’t even live in the area. Every weekend I come down to visit my boyfriend, my diet goes out the window and I order a special with cones and a side of cones (CAN’T GET ENOUGH CONES).
Old Greenwich is by far the best location.

Cones! We don’t live near here, so we’re forced to dream of these little potatoes more than we get to eat them.
We now pick the airport and time we fly so that Garden Catering will be «on the way» home to our parents and open when we land. It adds two hours to our drive to parents place, so we’re pretty lucky that they’re as great to us as these cones are!

How Garden Catering doesn’t have a perfect 5 is not understood. I DREAM about this place and wish there were a few sprinkled throughout Los Angeles. I would franchise it if I could. Every time I’m back home on the east coast, my first stop is Garden Catering.

They also make great sandwiches but are particularly known for their baby and high school specials.

I (heart) Nuggets.
For some reason, Garden Catering just has the best nuggets ever. They’re big. They’re white meat. They’re fried to golden-​brown perfection.
Get them with French fries or get them with cones. You can’t go wrong. I usually go with the cones, which are liked deep-​fried mashed potato bites. I’m not sure how they do it, but they definitely do it right.
Not into nuggets? They have other stuff too, including wraps, sandwiches, and salads.
The food comes fast, the guys behind the counter are friendly, and the prices are good too. Every time I go to Greenwich, a stop at Garden Catering is in the plan. I wish I could go right now.

This is pretty much the one food establishment you can’t leave Old Greenwich without visiting. If you do, shame on you.
Basically, Garden Catering is a hole in the wall with a deep fryer in it. If you can fry it, it’s on the menu. Potatoes, onions, mushrooms, zucchini, fish, shrimp… you name it.
And that’s why you go. I’m sure the sandwiches are lovely and all, but you simply can’t leave without having a High School Special. And no, you don’t have to be in high school to order or enjoy one. AWESOME chicken nuggets (with real chicken breast) thrown in a bag with «cones» (more on that later), coated in seasoning, and shaken up!
If God created something better, he kept it for himself. The cones are crunchy on the outside, mashed-​potato-​like soft on the inside. Served with whatever kinda sauce you want, it’s sinfully delicious.
So definitely check it out, but you might wanna take a double dose of Coumadin the morning you choose to do so :)…
