Valenti and Sons Painting

I scheduled a 1 pm appointment with this so called professional a week prior to our date. Guess what, he never showed up and when I called him, he said he did not have any appointment that day. When he finally figured he was wrong, he tells me, if it makes you feel better, I’m booked up anyways for the next 2 months. If I could, I would give him no stars.

An absolute pleasure having Robert paint our home. We hired Robert to paint our 2-​story foyer, hallways, living room, and bedroom. Robert arrived on time every morning, was professional through the entire process, respectful, and courteous. He did a wonderful job. Lines in every room was perfect. You can really tell our place was painted professionally. Without a doubt would recommend Valenti & Sons to my friends and family.

Despite the reviews on his website (note those are screened and I did not have an option to post a review there) Bob Valenti was a huge disappointment. We paid him approximately $ 4,500 to paint the main floor and second floor of our home. He assured us he was OCD and was nothing but the best. We put up with him for 3 weeks in our home because we thought it would at least be as good of a job we ourselves could do — two people with no training or 25 years of experience like he advertises. First of all the guy has a real attitude and gets very angry when you point out mistakes. He created so many brush strokes and paint drips… something that is now part of our walls and we can’t get rid of. He also said he could fix all the «nail pops» we have in our dry wall, sure no problem! That was his sales pitch. He didn’t attempt to even fix one. Half of the rooms he left big blotchy streaks where he didn’t even check that the paint covered. He also left drips of paint all along our wood floor, maybe he should use tape? Or slow down. He didn’t even remove the outlet covers for electric outlets and light switches. Even I know to do that. Instead he just quickly brushed around them and didn’t blend the strokes with where it meets the wall that he rolled. It looks terrible. He also left cigarette butts all over our yard and driveway which is a bit disgusting when you yourselves don’t smoke.
When I asked him about all the brush strokes he created and didn’t blend, or why he wasn’t taking off the outlet covers he said that I have an old house. While yes my house is approximately 50 years old it is beautiful which is why my husband and I paid a lot of money for it just one year ago and spent $ 4,500 to paint the interior. Aside from the actual paint colors, which I chose and do not give valenti credit, the walls look much worse. He is an amateur that should stick to painting warehouses, do not have him paint your home if you want it to look like you hired a professional. I could have done a better job, and have, even though I’ve only painted 2 rooms in my life, it isn’t difficult to make something look nice and not walk away until it does especially when it’s just a brush and can of paint. When he did our home he didn’t care how it turned out or that he said he’d fix the nail pops, he did no such thing.
Do not use him. I could have done a better job myself. I wouldn’t have him come back to paint the inside of our garage.
