I was excited to eat in Thai Princess because I love Thai food and I haven’t really tried any Thai food near East Lansing. Me and my friends ordered two appetizers, one was called special pork maybe, I can’t recall the exact name of it, but it was really good. The pork was fried perfectly, it was so juicy and tender, and the sauce was full of flavor too. The second appetizer was chicken with some kind of coconut milk sauce, and it comes with two side dips. It was tasteless and the chicken itself was so dry too. I ordered yellow curry with shrimp, it was way too sweet, but the shrimp was good though. One of my friends had red curry with shrimp which she thought it was okay. The rest of two ordered Pad Thai and Mango delight, they said it was a little bit greasy and too sweet, they didn’t even finish half of the dish.

This is the first ever Thai place I’ve been to so it is the standard for me from here on out. Food was hot, beautiful, and tasty. Atmosphere was very nice too. This is the first Crab Rangoon I’ve ever actually liked as well.

I ate here this past Sunday afternoon for the first time with my husband and three kids. I loved the food. My son had the crab ragoons, which were great. My husband and I tried both the tom yum and coconut soups, great again. I had a coconut milk and yellow curry dish with chicken and potatoes which I loved. The food was all top notch. We’ll be back for sure!

I was so excited to try what was classified as Lansing’s best Thai food, and if that’s the case in kinda bummed. Might have to hold off until we go back to Detroit to have Thai food. This place was ok, let’s start with the ambiance… so this was a win for the restaurant, it’s a very relaxed interior, nicely decorated. One side of the restaurant is better dressed than the other side. Food– we started off with spring rolls which were pretty good, I would give them 4 stars. Next we had the drunken noodles(wait…what was supposed to be drunken noodles, I’ll explain) and Pad Thai. Pad Thai– the pad Thai was pretty good I would give it a strong 3.5, not as good as what I’m used to but I enjoyed it; I’ll call it slightly above average. Good flavor, decent portion sizes Drunken noodles– ok so we really didn’t try them, we ordered them but that isn’t what came. I’ll give the drunken noodles a meh 2 stars, they were edible but nothing I would order again Rama Noodle– this is what they sent instead of drunken noodles. I was not a fan, I honestly thought they just had horrible drunken noodles lol I would never order that on mistake or purpose again. On the upside they corrected the issue and gave us a drunken noodle to go… They were really nice about the mistake, and apologized, we will be back to give them another chance. But my search for great Thai in Lansing continues

Had a horrible service a few months back at Thai Princess. Very slow service, item mistakes and an argument about the bill. Like the food, but was disappointed by this happening. Soups at the end of the day on a Sunday were very salty and warm… Not the usual quality I had come to expect.

Let me start by saying my wife and I love Thai food and we’ve eaten at 100’s of Thai restaurants. We are not from the Lansing area and found the restaurant through Unilocal and decided to give it a try. I came here with my Wife and 2year old daughter for the first time on a late Sunday evening. The place was very busy and about 60% of the customers were of Asian descent. To me that speaks volumes to their authenticity. The waitstaff was friendly the food was above average. The portion size was normal and the price was in-line with other Thai restaurants. The presentation was above average as well. The food was well flavored and properly spiced for Thai food. Which is something a lot of Thai restaurants struggle with. This is not a 5 start Thai restaurant but it has the potential to be a solid four. Unfortunately they fell short of that. They fell short because of the following. 1) no fountain soda — they serve your drink in a can with a mug of ice. 2) the waiter spoke very poor English and that caused a language barrier. Which we contributed to why he never brought my wife’s soup that she had ordered as an extra. Much to our sunrise it was on the final bill so he had just forgotten it. 3) The waitstaff needs work. Very friendly but not attentive enough. Had he stopped back to check on us we would have told him she had never gotten her soup and I would have ordered another drink. Our water came without ice and we asked twice for ice before our order was ever made. Food quality — above average Food quantity — average. Value — average Flavor vs spice — perfect Presentation — above average Waitstaff — well below average but very friendly.

Maybe my expectation was too high… i was looking at Unilocal and very excited to try«the best thai restaurant in lansing». I got a tom yum soup and peanut curry. Tom yum soul was very VERY sweet and salty, not like sour savory tom yum soup I had at many other thai restaurant. The sad part was that there was not any vegetable except mushroom and 2 pieces of shrimp in my soup.(and i paid almost 4 bucks for it!!!). The curry was little better than tom yum soup, but tofu tasted really old and it was not tasty at all. I spent almost40 dollars 2 entrees 1 soup and 2 thai teas. I dont think I have ever spent that much at a thai place before. The only reason why i didnt give them is because of the great service and good thai tea. I would only reccomend thai tea from here

I’ve been here twice — though I have nothing to compare it too, I like it. My only complaint is that even the«non-spicy» food is quite spicy. I don’t mind and I know that’s how Thai food is. Waitstaff are friendly and attentive. The Thai iced tea is yummy, basically, a dessert!

I’ve been to many Thai restaurants and almost all of them try to cover their favors, or lack there of, with heat. It’s a fine line where heat compliments flavor instead of burning your palate to a frizzle. Thai Princess is a wonderful exception to the local rule. Of course there’s heat… when you need it. But if flavor is what you’re looking for, look no further than the chef’s special Kao Mok Gai. The staff is genuinely friendly and typical of a good Thai restaurant, you’ll never be mistreated. The food is the freshest and prepared to be the healthiest Asian cuisine you will find.

I ordered drunken noodles and the spring rolls. I got a laugh when the waiter was surprised that I wanted the spice level of my drunken noodles to be hot. What can I say, I love spicy food. Every thing came out piping hot and the food was delicious! The drunken noodles were spicy enough that they didn’t burn my mouth, but made my nose run instead. I had to get a to go container because I was so full! The staff was very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back again!

Friendly staff. A decent deal for takeout at lunch time. I’ve been there a half dozen times and while not the absolute best Thai food I’ve had, it is solid and tasty.

Best Thai food in area coupled with wonderful service and staff. Very clean and great atmosphere. Pad thai, basil chicken and curry beer are among the best dishes. If you like it spicy, you can ask and will be happily pleased. You will join the land of 10000 smiles with this solid Thai choice spot.

We tried this place tonight and I’d give it a thumbs up! We had egg rolls for an appetizer. It came with five and they were nice and crunchy. The plating was beautiful. I had mango curry with shrimp. Relatively small portion, but the flavor was just great. They have somebody in that kitchen who knows what they’re doing with spices. They got the hotness level just right. I asked for medium heat, and that’s exactly what I received, which is very unusual! It’s pricey though. My dinner ended up being about $ 20 with tip and tax and I’m still kind of hungry. I can eat a lot though so others might feel fuller!

THAIPRINCESSISTHEBESTEVER. I’ve had Thai food in lots of major cities including NYC several times. I’m obsessed with Thai Princess. It’s the best. The waitstaff is super friendly and wonderful and everything on the menu is delicious. Like, crazy delicious. Way better than you think. Like, I get chills when I eat the mango curry. If you want«giant portions» or your order custom-made to be spicy or mild, go to Wendy’s and get a spicy chicken sandwich(not that there is anything wrong with Wendy’s). Don’t go to No Thai or Taste of Thai or any of that other ersatz Thai food. The food at Thai Princess is made by masters, and it’s prepared to perfection. Really good Thai food isn’t about spice, it’s about complex, rich, herbal flavors and mingling of sweetness, creaminess, and spicy notes. The presentation of food is always top-notch – extremely artful, colorful, and tasteful. The attention to detail is astonishing. THERICECOMESINTHESHAPEOF A HEART. I just fainted. Also did I mention it’s delicious? I go here every time my best friend visits from Utah, and she also agrees that it’s the best Thai of all time and place. One time they mixed up our order and brought us the wrong curries BUTITDIDN’T MATTERBECAUSEITWASACTUALLYMOREDELICIOUSTHANWHATWEORDERED. Best thai food in the area for sure. It’s rough because it’s in Okemos which unless you take the bus or have a car isn’t conducive for the MSU student but if you can make it there, it is awesome. I will start off by saying I love the décor there is a wall of colored glass bottles as soon as you walk in and the seating area is beautiful. As far as food goes, I absolutely recommend the peanut curry with chicken. It is the best thing on the menu, but you can’t go wrong with a red curry or pad thai. the portions are a little smaller than most thai places I’ve been to, but still, when you need your somewhat quality thai fix nearby, this is the place you should go.

Don’t be thrown off by the modern décor. Their food will wow you by its freshness and flavor impact. Don’t get me wrong, the atmosphere is very nice and it doesn’t look like your typical mom and pops Thai restaurant. Enough about the setting right, I came to eat. I started with the Apple Avocado Salad. The ingredients are very fresh along with the ripeness of the apples and more importantly the avocados. The salad is lightly dressed with their house dressing flavoring the ingredients well, but not over done. If you like either of the two main ingredients, add it to your order. Their Red Curry With Tofu and Vegetables is done very well. The star is the curry sauce with it being full with flavor and rich in its viscosity. This is not some watered down dish. It’s thicker and deep with flavoring. This sauce is worth the drive from any direction in the area

I’m still trying to decide whether or not I like Thai food in general but Thai Princess is the best Thai cuisine I’ve experienced in my travels so far. Not for just the food, but for the ambience(especially in Lansing), the large but thoughtful menu, and the very friendly staff. From the outside Thai Princess doesn’t look like much(strip mall location, small worn sign) but the interior takes you across the world and is exotic and earthy at the same time. It has a slightly upscale feel without being upscale. All of the staff we encountered were very helpful and everyone had a smile on their face at all times. There was an upbeat and positive vibe in the air. We ordered the chicken pad Thai and the chicken pad spicy, level 3 as well as some a Thai iced teas(a must). There were so many intriguing options on the menu that it was difficult choosing the basic pad Thai, but I wasn’t feeling as adventurous. My pad Thai smelled off putting(is that typical for pad Thai?) but tasted great! The flavors were all there, the noodles were perfect, and the chicken was very quality. The portion was large enough for left overs. My friend’s pad spicy was just barely too spicy and she decided she should have gone with a level 2, but again the meal was better than average. The meals are pretty to the eye and the ingredients are memorable and fresh. Thai Princess is probably one of the best restaurants in the Lansing area. It’s a great spot for guests or an intimate date.
