Great food, awesome taste. It takes little longer for the food to be cocked, but it worth the wait.

I’ve been to so many Indian buffets that one might call me an Indian buffet expert. Less selection than a typical buffet, but everything they cooked was excellent. Will definitely go again.

Very good food. Friendly staff. Wide selection. Lamb Korma and Chicken Masala with Naan were both wonderful.

The problem with eating at Persis is that I don’t want to eat anything else for days afterward because nothing sounds as good as Persis. They have mastered the flavor spectrum. My favorites are the Gobi 65(spicy fried cauliflower), samosas(turnovers filled with blended potatoes, peas, and spices — thrilled that Persis’ doesn’t add onion in these), dhum ka chicken, and their traditional tikka masala. All their chicken dishes use nice non-fatty cuts and the portions are really decent for sharing. Definitely the best Indian cuisine in the Lansing/EL area.

I came here for a late dinner during a short break in work. The staff was extremely nice and very accommodating. The food tasted good and the serving size is what you would expect for the price. I’d come here again the next time I’m in town.

I was in the area last August and was pondering this place, but the reviews about the poor service scared me off. This time, I was with a group, totaling five including me. It took a long time to get our order taken, but things were getting busy. Then it took half an hour for our food to come, during which time no one came by to refill our water glasses or take second drink orders. Once our food arrived, that was the last we saw of any service staff for a literal, solid hour(could have been longer, because I left before our host paid the check). I have never, ever, in decades’ worth of dining out, experienced such completely inept and uncaring table service. It wasn’t personal, either. Lots of folks of various ethnic persuasions experienced similar lack of attention, from my observation point at the center of the restaurant. You’d think that the waiters’ paths would have taken them past our table at least once in sixty minutes, but they did not so much as glance in our direction before returning to the kitchen or ducking behind the bar. The food was, as noted in other reviews, absolutely delicious. But there is nothing in the world that I can think of that will get me back to Persis — ever.

Fantastic!!! I travel the USA and I would rate this in the top 5 of Indian dinners I’ve had! So good. I had the Malai Kofta and it literally melts in your mouth. Also, I ordered the Samosa Chat appetizer and could’ve made a meal off just that. Huge portion! Friendly, fast, polite service too. And inexpensive!

Ridiculously good korma. Creamy. Delicious. I love that they have Bollywood playing on the big screen. Most of the customers are Indian. What does that tell you?

This is the worst indian restaurant i’ve ever seen. Very poor staff and don’t know how to behave with customers. These guys having the restaurant in Okemos and thinking like they are monopoly in that area. Especially the working staff the typical indian guy with spectacles(Mumbai short Indian Guy) is ridiculous and misbehaves with customers. He cheats customers. I don’t like the management too they are in assumption of providing good service to customers. Its a very bad restaurant and food was very dry and seems, it was a week back food. They are like disgusting i’d love to go Ann Arbour/Detroit to eat indian food rather spoiling health eating in Persis Indian Grill. The management serves old and dry food to Americans because they don’t know how the indian food would be. So, this is the strategy Persis people follows for Americans. Very bad restaurant and never expect good service from Short Indian guy who have spectacles. Do not go. Do not go. Do not go. PREFEROTHERRESTAURANTSANDSAVEYOURHEALTH.

Good & Rich food. Average service. Portions are also good and price is reasonable. Be sure to double check the bill, in my case it was little off and most likely it was by mistake which they got corrected when I asked. Overall average experience. I will try again and will see if this improves.

Hoping to get a tasty dinner based on my earlier visit, I went for dinner last night. I ordered the grilled platter for appetizer. Malai kabob was OK and so was chicken tikka. The tandoori chicken was bad. Shish kabob was bad and under cooked. Cheap ground chicken with some spices I guess. I could not eat and half was left for the garbage bin. Worst, I got a sore throat within 7 hours after eating here. I will call the city to inspect their kitchen and food handling. The waitress looked depressed. She needs to learn to smile I got the impression that this place is owned by a person with a full time job else where. I got a message from the owner after my above review. He said he would have corrected the issue if I would have let him know. I am willing to consider it as an honest mistake and give this place another try if time permits on my next visit to Lansing.

I’ve been to Persis only twice within the last year or so. The buffet is definitely spicier compared to Sindhu’s. Given I usually only go to Sindhu’s for Friday buffet, Persis on Sunday has a wide variety of foods. They had Pav bhaji set up with condiments and chutneys. Separate stations for yogurt rice, pickles, vegetables, and a main buffet. In a way the multiple station set-up is confusing and leads to some disorganization. All in all, the food is really good and worth the buffet price.

This food is very flavorful! The chicken is moist and well seasoned. The gralic naan is absolutely amazing! Although some of the dishes are very similar in taste(i.e. butter chicken and tikki marsala), it is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Okemos/East Lansing area.

Persi’s is, by far, my favorite restaurant in the Lansing area. Period. I’m biased though… if I had to pick one cuisine to eat for the rest of my life, it would be Indian. I enjoy Swagath’s, and Sindhus, but I feel like Persi’s blows both of those out of the water when it comes to the buffet. Persi’s is more of a southern indian style, and it is definitely more spicy than the other buffets that cater more towards students. The variety on the buffet is always changing, and they usually have a good 2⁄3 meat dishes, and 5 or 6 vegetarian dishes, as well as fixin’s, chutneys, veggies, etc. When I’m not on a budget(or a diet), I easily eat here 2 or 3 times a week for lunch. The food is fantastic, spicy, and the variety is incredible. If you like REAL Indian food, and not some Americanized masala, eat here. Trust me, and thank me later.

Nice ambiance, decent wait staff, and good food. My husband likes it better than Sindhu, but I think it’s a near draw. Depends what you order. We have only had dinner not the lunch buffets at either. We ordered their tandoori chicken, lamb vindaloo –medium, and chana masala –hot. They don’t have lamb roganjosh, which is my favorite and a total winner at Sindhu. However, the lamb vindaloo was still pretty good. My husband was very happy with the chana masala. The tandoori chicken was a stand out. They serve it hot and sizzling. Flavorful and moist. We didn’t have tandoori at Sindhu, so can’t compare. We found this restaurant more comfortable than Sindhu overall, but both are good options.

I was craving for curry while I was watching«A Mind of a Chef»(kudos if you know what episode I’m talking about lol). My boyfriend mentioned of this restaurant, and was like«hell yeaaaaa!!!» But sadly, it wasn’t as great as I thought it would be. Looks dark from the outside; super bright on the inside. Good size restaurant with booths and round tables in the middle; bar to the right. On a Tuesday night, it wasn’t crowded, but my boyfriend said it can get packed. Hostess was nice; menu was detailed. Keep in mind, you can tell them how spicy you want it, although some are made to be a certain spice level. So far, not bad… Until the 15 min wait for our food. Luckily I always have great conversations with my boyfriend, but what if this was a first date??? Awkwarddddd. Honestly I could’ve walked to Tim Hortons, ordered a drink, came back, and the food would still not be there. Sigh… what a disappointment. We ordered garlic naan, chicken tikka masala, and bhindi do piyaz(okra). We ordered mild spice because my boyfriend said medium was hella spicy. But I was underwhelmed by the lack of spice in our dishes. Maybe next time I will try the medium. However, the next time I come back, it will be for take out. I’m not going to wait forever for my food again. I’ve been to other Indian restaurants with delicious food and fast food services, so I know it’s possible. If this place does the same, maybe I’ll come again and dine in instead.

Really good Indian food in the Lansing area — though I’ve definitely had better. I ordered a couple entrees, appetizers, naan, and other dishes with a couple of co-workers and it was definitely a ton of food. We were quite full! The food tasted reasonably fresh, but in my opinion could have been more flavorful. The food was also not the healthiest and definitely had a lot of oil and butter — but I suppose that’s what makes it good! Good experience though and I would likely come back again!

Thanks to this place I now keep a cupboard full of Imodium A-D. But more about that later. I ordered takeout 45 minutes before I got there, but they still made me wait 15 minutes. When I got there the place was packed with about 50 Indians. I guess that’s a good sign; it means the place is authentic. Maybe a little TOO authentic. Lets just say the results were … umm … «explosive.» And that’s where the Imodium A-D comes into the story. Thanks to this joint, the raccoons in the front yard got a $ 32 dinner, courtesy of me. Other than that, it was GREAT!
