Hoggin’ It BBQ

Second visit was as good as the first. Smoked prime rib was excellent. German potato salad is my new favorite side.

I learned a long time ago that part of BBQ deal is the sides can be hit or miss and mostly not as good as the BBQ it self and with that being said let’s start this review.
I stumbled on this place by accident and I know it’s a drive but I wanted to check them out because I’m a BBQ nut and I’m always looking for the next place.
I thought the place was pretty cool as my first impression. The place has a small window front bar you can eat at or two side rooms. The place has a nice hip vibe with a freshly done interior. Flat screens in the room so you will not miss the game. There is a smell of smoke in the air so I knew it would be real BBQ.
The menu has pork, chicken, ribs and brisket with home made sides. Black bear soda is on tap among all the numerous drink options sitting on the bar. I would have the beef brisket sandwich platter which has two sides and a drink for $ 11.
The service was wonderful and the woman took the time to explain that all the meats have different rubs so the flavors will be different from the brisket to the ribs etc. The meats come naked I was told which I love because I want to taste the BBQ. They do bring two sauces to your table one regular and one spicy. I chose the beef brisket with garlic mash and Mac which came with a drink so I chose the black cherry. I don’t buy soda in my everyday life but I would try some today since it came with the meal and I liked it by the way.
My platter came pretty fast and looked good for the most part because the Mac had brown in it. The brisker looked good but it was a little fattier than I like. The bark was really good with a crisp texture in places so I left the fat on because it’s all flavor. The brisket was tender with a nice smoke flavor and didn’t need any sauce which was held together with a soft toasted bun that just worked well. The brisket sandwich was really good here.
Now to the sides and since I know the deal I will never take stars away for sides but I will add stars for the sides. The sides were home made but the were nothing special and served at room temperature. The Mac was very bland with hard brown pasta on top but cooked perfect once the hard ones are gone. The garlic mash was ok but nothing special once again and next time I would get two different sides.
Over all the BBQ beef brisket was better than most I have had and I have been served dry pot roast before and if the rest of the BBQ meats are of the same quality this is a solid BBQ place and I wish it was closer. I would definitely go back and try the ribs.

Great BBQ! Have been here 3 times, the food is great!

I had the brisket and thought it was incredible. My son had the ribs and thought that they were the best he’s ever had. The staff was very friendly as well, and I’m looking forward to going back and trying the prime rib one of these days.

We have been here twice and have not been disappointed. The ribs are excellent, they are served naked with an excellent choice of sauces. The pulled pork and beef brisket are a mighty fine choice as well, nicely smoked. We will be regulars.

These guys get better and better every time.
The cornbread is warm and has a great flavor, the mac and cheese is extra cheesy, and the garlic mashed potatoes are loaded with garlic (This is a good thing).
Hoggin’ It has the best pork, chicken and brisket sandwiches you could possibly hope to find. No matter what meat you choose, it’s going to be excellent.
I finally got to try the smoked prime rib tonight, and it was outrageous. Seriously delicious — tender, smoky and each bite was as good as the one before.
I can’t say enough about Hoggin’ It and their food.
Add to that the really cool people working here and the fact that they’re always listening to their customers and improving, Hoggin’ It is fast, delicious and a bargain.
