UNDERNEWMANAGEMENT, and this is a good thing. First off let me say that my wife and I went in expecting typical a Wisconsin Supperclub. This is definitely not that! The décor is definitely supperclub, mixed with Northwoods Lodge. The service is still finding it footing with the new ownership, but over all they did a good job. Now on to the food. The menu has some of the traditional supper club options, but was much more focused on BBQ. Remarkably this is the best BBQ I have had in the Milwaukee area it blows the Smokeshack away. The new owners are Peruvian and there are now Peruvian specialties on the daily special board. We did not have any, but the other diner’s were raving about the Peruvian options. Over all it was one of the most unexpectedly great dinners we have had in the lake county. I wish they would change the name to reflect what a great BBQ joint this is, I had no idea, and I have driven by this restaurant hundreds of times.

This place is not even one star! I have tried to go here and give it numerous chances but time after time the experience consist of: 1. Poor Service(Bar staff in particular) AND 2. Average to poor food quality. This place looks really cool from the outside but has many problems on the inside. May be time for new owners and or management since it has been the same crappy restaurant now for the past few years.

I loved Bertrand’s! The place has a nice, cozy feel and the staff were really friendly. We stopped in for a few beers last week — we were bar hopping around Okauchee, and this was definitely my favorite place. We sat right at the bar and had some fun conversations with the bartenders while we were there. One cool thing — both of them came up and introduced themselves, asked our names, and from then on made sure to keep the beer flowing! We’re not local, but it was nice to be treated like we were family in this place. I can’t say much about the food, as we only got an order of the dill chips — but they were great. We easily finished off the whole basket(mostly me).

We are new boaters and this is our second year on Okauchee Lake. We decided it would be fun to go out and dock at a restaurant’s pier. We entered the restaurant and was immediately seated… by the back door. This was the only entry and exit for servers and patrons from their outdoor dining patio. It was early, 5pm and we were only one of the two tables in the entire room. It was a bit annoying to have people constantly passing behind your back!!! We tried to order as quickly as possible so that we would not ruin anyone else’s dining experience with our two«potentially» loud children. Our drinks came quickly as did the appetizer. We had the mozzerella sticks. They were wrapped in wontons and the only thing my kids ate for dinner. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza. It was OK. Nothing special and nothing that I’d go out of my way for. Their thin crust seemed a little soggy. I personally think pizza is over-rated and it should not cost $ 20 for a piece of dough, 1 cup of tomato sauce and a handful of pepperoni and mozzerella cheese. The icing on the cake was after we left the restaurant, my husband realized he left his sunglasses on a ledge near our table(to keep it out of reach of the children). We were not gone more than 5 minutes and were told that«no one had seen his sunglasses». The service, however, was very decent. The waitress was pleasant and when asked gave us two plastic cups half full with ice water for the kids. When we were ready to go, the only hang up was waiting for the check. We had to literally pack up all our things and stand up for us to finally get the bill.

A group of us attempted to dine at your restaurant on Saturday, but were left with what I can only describe as one of the worst customer service experiences of my life. First, there were 8 of us in our group and of course, we didn’t expect to be seated right away. However, the attitude we received from the moment we entered the building was extremely hostile. We waited around the bar while a young boy set-up a table for us. While we waited, we repeatedly kept getting barked at for being in the server’s way.(There was definitely a path to get through.) Not once did we feel welcome in the establishment. When we finally got seated, our server told us that it would be a few minutes before she could come back to us. That was perfectly ok with us as we saw she had a lot of tables. We decided we would make it easy for everyone, go order a couple of pitchers of beer at the bar and when she got back just get a couple of pizzas. However, when one of the people in our party went to the bar to get beer, he was yelled at and told to go back to his table to wait for his server. When he returned, a woman at the table next to us came back and gave her 90+ year old mom a bottle of water exclaiming«I had to get this from the cooler since I got yelled at by the bartender & told to go back to my seat». At that point, we decided we had enough and left. As we were walking through the patio, a table stopped us and asked if we were leaving because the staff was rude to us and because we couldn’t get served. We said«yes» to which they stated they were thinking about doing the same thing. Fortunately, we found another establishment on the lake, as we were boating, who wanted our business.
